Berona Report 11 Apr 2010 23:53

Good night Linda. I have to go too. Another trip to the GP to give more blood - still monitoring for the Warfarin.
Now, I'm noticing how useless my car is - sitting in the garage waiting to go to the mechanic's. Daughter is taking me. See you all later.

Bye Berona.

I hope that the trip to your GP goes well

Persephone Report 12 Apr 2010 02:38

Hope all is well with everyone.
I don't think you will see much of me - Firefox doesn't seem to like Genes -
So just came in through IE. I have no problems on any other sites that I go in. I have come in through the Oz site - as the British one keeps on zapping me - reply boxes not appearing and then I lose everything I type. Nz one was so slow - I could have got in my boat and sailed across the divide quicker than last night's disaster. Spent an hour on here and got precisely nowhere.

Now I have to consider over the next month or so whether to renew my membership - I probably will as the cost is relatively cheap - we will see.
Most of my contacts have other tree formats as do I so we usually send generation reports to each other via ordinary e-mail.

Today I went and got my hearing aids - and now the keyboard is clicking away with great gusto - even turning the pages of a magazine or newspaper sounds so loud. Will be great when I go and visit my boss as he and his wife can have a conversation at the dinner table that includes me and I only pick upabout two thirds of the conversation.

I will try and get on here tomorrow - will have to be earlier because of the 11 hour difference now.

My dad would grow kale and if we were short of silverbeet he would mix either kale or puha with it. He also grew leeks and the formidable chokos
used to grow up the garage wall. They were great for choko fights when we were kids - nowadays Health and safety would soon put a stop to such goings on.

Cheers
Perspicacity (that's my by-word)

Hi Perse and everyone.

Persey, are you using the latest addition of firefox? I was having problems at one stage, when I contacted Genes they told me to update to the latest version, so I did and it solved the problems I was having.
Please don't leave us:-((((((

We seem to be experiencing a cold snap down here, its freezing! We had the open fire blazing over the weekend, I cant believe how quickly the weather has changed.

Berona I hope you get your car fixed soon, I'd be lost without my car so would my cherubs.

Linda, I was going to ask you the other day if you had begun working in your garden plot.
I made a big pot of home made vegetable soup, yesterday - it was wonderful served with garlic bread:-)) I also love potato and leek soup!!

My cherubs went back to school today, they were both very unhappy - me too!!!

I wonder how our Sue is? bet she is having a grand time:-)

~~~~~~~ to Diane, hope you are well:-))
Berona Report 12 Apr 2010 09:32
Hello all. Gave more blood again and changed to-night's dosage once more - this has to continue until the blood count becomes stable. I wouldn't mind if I weighed less when I give the blood, but nothing happens!
My son came and took my car to the mechanic's this afternoon. It seems to be only the high pressure hose, but the car is 17 years old and those hoses are not made any more - meaning that one will have to be made, etc. etc. Not a cheap job, but not as bad as I have expected - and I can't grumble considering its age.
My garage looks awfully big without it - and I have a job cleaning up. The break in the hose caused a leak which I didn't see until the car went! I have put cat litter on it for now - but I'm disappointed that it happened. The floor was so nice and clean before.
CC - give the birds time. I had this happen when we installed a bird-bath. The birds have to 'case the joint' when they know a cat lives there. They need to know if and when the cat is around in case it's a trap. They'll eventually come around to using it.
Good morning everyone.
Perse, please don't go... Sounds like a song
I had to look up chokos as they are something I have never heard of.
I hope that you get your car back soon Berona and that the doctors get your wafarin level sorted out so you don't need to go for any more blood letting.
I think you are correct about the time delay in birds using things Berona. We were given a bird bath and I dutifully filled it up, but the birds didn't use it. Then all of a sudden they gave it the thumbs up (or should that be wings up) and now they happily splash about.
What are you peering at through the windows CC - anything interesting?
Suemaid is on a proper holiday Susanwith numbers - not a GR excursion. Currently cruising the South Pacific. Actually she is on a trial run ready for when Berona or I win the lottery and take everyone on the Aussie thread on a cruise.
HOW OLD ARE YOU?
You were born before pencillin, polio shots, frozen food, xerox, plastic contact lenses, video, frisbees, and the pill.
You were born before radar, credit cards, split atoms, lazer beams, ballpoint pens, dishwashers, tumble driers, electric blankets, and drip dry clothes.
You got married first, then lived together, You thought "fast food" was what you ate at Lent, a Big Mac was an oversized raincoat, and crumpet was what you had for tea. You existed before house husbands, computer dating, dual careers, and sheltered accommodation was where you waited for the bus.
You had never heard of FM Radio, word processors, yoghurt, pizza, or young men wearing earings, a chip was a piece of wood or a fried potatoe, hardwear meant nuts and bolts, and soft wear wasn't a word, stud was something that fastened your clothes, and going all the way meant staying on the bus all the way to the bus depot.
In your day cigarette smoking was fashionable, "grass" was mown, "coke" was kept in the coal house, and a joint was a piece of meat you ate on Sundays.
No wonder you are confused.
