Good evening/morning to all. LINDA - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Oh, to be 21 again. How lovely!

I knew you were 18 years younger than I am!

That was nice of Allan to send you flowers (with a one cent stamp on them). Knowing how generous he is - I advise you to just thank him and forget it. They will never get there! I'm still waiting for mine.

Good morning, Berona

They STILL haven't arrived??

I'll send a strongly worded letter to Australia Post

*goes off to find a one cent stamp*

:0))

Good Morning Berona,

Are you sure you're only 39? That makes me old enough to be your father!
Would it be proper for you to be seen dancing with a man my age?

When you go for your Warfarin test, do you get an on the spot result?
Until recently here, the sample was sent to the path lab at a hospital 50 miles away, and they phoned me with the result, adjusting the dosage accordingly. Now the test meter gives an instant result and the computer adjusts the dosage, and the next appointment.
I'm very stable these days, on 3mg one day, and 4mg the next.
Been on it for over 20 years now.

Tec.

Good evening CC

I can't comment on the Black Saturday Fires as they took place in Victoria.

All I know is that in Western Australia, the power authorities are very quick to deny that their infrastructure is involved as the know they will be up for massive compensation.

In the last big fire in WA recently, at Toodyay, Western Power reluctantly conceded that their poles MAY have been involved, but the independent experts (paid for by Western Power) said that they could not establish that Western Powers infrastucture was involved!

CC.......I liked your poem Life on the ocean waves, it did remind me of a ship I was on for a few years, the Captain was constantly sea sick, at the first sign of rough weather, he would retreat to his cabin.
His name........ Captain Green...........LOL.

CC, WA has finally found that underground power is actually cheaper to maintain.

For some time now, all new subdivisionshave to have underground power. This is paid for by the developer so doesn't cost the Stae a penny, although the cost is jost added on to each block sold!

But the older areas, and the coutry towns, have no hope at all!

Hello Tec - we actually get to talk to-day! Hope you and your duchess are both enjoying good health and weather.

My GP doesn't use a computer. However, the pathologists have a collection/return service. The samples are picked up at around noon and results returned at 6pm, so I ring the GP after 6 and he tells me the result and what dosage to take in the evening - also when he wants to see me again, etc. and I then make an appointment from that.

My normal GP is a lady but she has passed me over to her partner for this 'heart' business as she works only part-time and doesn't seem too sure of herself. I'm quite happy with her partner. He seems to be very experienced in this field. They are both Chinese, but might have been born in Australia. He is very popular with the Chinese people around here. I often sit in the waiting room and feel like the odd one out!

Hi Berona, I'm finethanks, and enjoying the Spring weather. Unfortunately, the Duchess had a bad day today - her blood sugar levels were in the low 20s this morning, for no reason. So the day was spent juggling insulin levels, and minute amounts of food. Things seem to have improved this evening - but I think we will have a restless night.
I have got my nurses outfit on - it matches Allans maids uniform - what a pretty picture that conjures up!.

With regard to the Warfarin tests. I don't trust the computer system, and much preffered to have a human being adjusting dosages.
Although the new system is instant, it is definitely not so reliable. You can't explain to a computer that you missed a dose the day before yesterday, as you can to a phlebotomist.

CC..........
It is not unusual when sitting on the loo in the lower decks to be "washed" off the loo if the ship rolls badly to side your loo is on - most un-nerving.
I hope this isn't what happened to you!

Because of no car at the moment, my daughter drove me to the GP yesterday and had Master 6 in tow. He is very proud of all the words he can read.
However, amongst the usual 3 y.old magazines, was one Chinese magazine. He picked it up and was looking through it until his Mum told him he wouldn't be able to understand it and he said "I wondered why I couldn't find any words that I know in it".!

Sorry to be tail end Charlie

I see you had a good birthday Linda and I hope you have many more buns with candles on them in the years to come.

I managed to get in - but all I got was my tree without headers etc so could not go to the boards. So departed and started again - then the phone rang and then I spent ages trying to open the thread. It seems to pick and choose what threads I can open and what I can't - seem to be living in a dictatorship. Some threads open first pop others won't budge and then I get error reports - and it is only on this site.

Well I may try again tomorrow.

Hope everything is going well with you all and hi Diane keep on smiling and waving - I am over here in the cheap seats.

From very much Persevering Perse

Thank you all for your birthday greetings. I wasn't going to say anything about it, I didn't want a fuss, of course I just expected a surprise party. As Tec is psychic that would not be a problem.

I hope you get your computer sorted out Perse. It is annoying when things go slowly. I have no trouble on this site, it is Facebook which is slow for me.

Good morning Linda

What's the point of a suprise party?

if one was organised for me I'd b**ger off and say that I had a prior appointment

But then, I'm just a miserable old b**tard
