I hope that you get rain in moderate proportions and the winds don't do any damage.

It has been glorious here for the last few days, so this morning I put a summer top on again. I have had to go and change it for a fleece though as it is cold and cloudy again. Still it has been way above the seasonal average,so I shouldn't really be in summer tops yet.

Hello Linda - Just a quick one before I take a book to bed. Hope you are accepting that you are another year older. I can tell you, that gets harder as time goes on!

Beautiful day here to-day. Sunny and 23. Just how I like it - with no wind and very little humidity. Don't know how long it will last though. Mornings and evenings are nippy and overnight temps are as low as 9, so winter is on its way.
Sleeping is much easier now that we don't wake up perspiring and too hot to go back to sleep.

Might get to talk again in the morning (here) - tonight where you are. Hope you have a good day.

More to the point, just enough rain to make the grapes grow CC

I hope everyone in WA had a peaceful night.
Another glorious day here, really warm 18C but dropping to 3c tonight - fantastic sunset across the Irish Sea this evening.

Question on a TV quiz this evening - which of the following landmarks is nearest to the Equator?
Mount Rushmore.
Gobi Desert.
Suez Canal.
Ayers Rock.
I thought I was good at geography, but was surprised that the answer is Ayers Rock.
I thought the southern end of the Suez Canal where it enters the Red Sea would have been nearer the Equator.
We live and learn.

Popping in while I make a late breakfast -

Yes Tec Australia is closer to the equator than one thinks.

Finally Spielberg's The Pacific is on started on our Monday night and I will be deeply entrenched in that after I have watched the Ozzie hospital program which is mostly about The Alfred in Sydney - the other night a rather plumpish woman broke her foot in the "furniture department" of a store she had gone to look at the bargains. Her ankle was all swollen and they were worried about how she was going to get down the stairs (I wondered where the service lift was) they put a plastic bag affair over her foot up to her knee and blew it up. She opted to slide down the stairs on her btm and yes she had broken her ankle and sad to say she missed getting her bargain furniture.

Well off to breakfast and coffee

Persey.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 13 Apr 2010 22:16

Good morning Perse, I was going to ask if that was you on the TV programme but of course you broke your foot at home and you are positively Sylph like, or at least that is how I imagine you.

Tec, it hasn't been glorious here, I had to put my fleece top back on. We were delivering library books this afternoon and it was really cold

I am just pouring the coffee and I must say that, that Linda has a very vivid imagination. Nice but vivid - at least I did not get the look - probably because I am ever so well behaved at the moment, though a piece of tomato did slide off my toast onto the floor.

Ooh you are a mucky kid Perse.

Good evening/morning all

The winds abated last night and it was relatively peaceful, but thunderstorms forecast today!

Typical, we have to be in Bunbury for 9.30 am as we are applying for our Aussie passports and have the Interview at the Post Office.. Trying to park near the PO is a nightmare

I've had a PM from Diane: she says hello to you all and wanted me to tell you that her noisy neighbour has now departed the scene. Diane is obviuosly hoping that the new ons(s) will not be as noisy

Why do you need an Aussie passport Allan?

Allan

Allan Report 13 Apr 2010 22:33

For the same Reason that I'd need a British one.....to travel overseas :0))

Persephone Report 13 Apr 2010 22:34

I was going to ask that as well - why do you need an Australian Passport.

My American friend has just done her two yearly visit here and whilst she has lived in the states for yonks she still carries her British Passport - she was born in Birmingham.
