Sue - The obnoxious man with the sign - it was me..............LOL

On the big liners that did world cruises lasting several months the Company employed "Hostesses" whose job it was to look pretty, and be "available" on the dance floors.
These ladies were usually very attractive, but there was a constant turnover as they invariably found a wealthy single gentleman to marry them.

The problem with the ash, and why it is not affecting Iceland, is very similar to the Acid Rain saga in Scandinavia in the 60's and 70's.

The UK built several power sations and the waste stacks were so high that the ash never settled on the UK but drifted at high levels over to Scandinavia where it mixed with the rain and fell as dilute sulphuric acid.

I believe that the Icelandic volcano has erupted in a remote part of Iceland, where there is little, or no habitation, so the physical effects are neglible.

Because the ash-plume is blowing away from Iceland, its own air-space is clear.

Good Morning Berona,
Hope you are in fine fettle this morning.

On BBC News - John Cleese of Fawlty Towers fame was stranded in Oslo, he took a taxi all the way to Belgium to catch the ferry to the UK - cost him over £3,000

Hi to Susanwithnumbers.

one day, you may give me permission to be less formal :0)).

Hello Persey, the wild child of NZ even if a little forgetful.

OH and i nipped out this morning to buy the newspaper. We also purchased a red capsicum, which we duly placed in our shopping bag. Just before going through the checkout OH says put the bag away and just buy the paper.

I had to remind her that we had another purchase to declare :0))

Just here to show the flag. I only made one post earlier because I was feeling a bit under the weather. Just when I thought I was settled on my new meds, I have had an allergic reaction to them and didn't sleep last night. Why do these things happen on Sundays, when the doctors are not available? Mine impressed upon me that I have to take my new tablets (Warfarin) at the same time daily, and they are making me itchy! Looked up the internet and found that this is a side-effect of them - so now, do I go against what he said and miss tonight's dose, or do I take it and scratch all night? Might try taking a Claratyne to see if that helps. I don't like to take anything that isn't okayed by the doc.

Hello everyone, I have had a very quick skim through, but have promptly forgotten everything I have read.

Welcome home Sue, I am glad that you have enjoyed yourself and I too am waiting to unwrap my present.

I hope that you get the itching sorted out Berona, we can't have you scratching yourself, people might think you have flees.

A special hug for Tec if you are feeling ill.

I haven't been around fro a couple of days as my sister has been staying so she could take the rest of the things from mum's house. It is just about sorted now, we just have to wait for the solicitors to get their act together.

Hello to CC and Berona

Berona, sorry to hear that you had an adverse reaction to your meds.

I hope that it has passed now and that you are feeling a bit better
