I have a few brick walls of my own Sue. I am determined to find the death for one of my great grandmothers, but i have bought two wrong death certs for the woman. I need to go back to Huddersfield records office soon, to try and findher burial

Ah, they grow wine in the Margaret river area. See how extensive my knowledge of Oz is, especially the alcohol

Allan

Allan Report 19 Apr 2010 22:31

Linda, without a word of a lie, my contract involves obtaining samples of wine and other goods produced in the area. Unfortunately the wine samples consist of unopened bottles :0((

This sampling would normally be undertaken by the local council (The Shire of Augusta/Margaret River) but due to staffing problems they have not been able to do it.

So I have been contracted by an off-shoot of the State Health Department to do it for them. OH will be able to accompany me if she wants. and as Margaret River Townsite is only just over an hour from where I live I can start and finish each day from home.

Hello Allan - congratulations on picking up some work in a lovely area. I've never been there but I've heard it's very nice. Linda is right - if you don't have time to chat with us then you'll have to turn the job down. Sorry:-))

Goodnight Linda - sleep tight.

Good night Linda

Sue Margaret River is a very beautiful area: however, the people do play the tourism card to the hilt and to my mind the wines are vastly over-priced!

You can add $15.00 on the cost of an average wine merely because the label states "Made in Margaret River"

The funny thing is, many wines are produced in Maragret River as that is where the wineries are, but over 50% of the actual grapes come from outside the area.

Don't worry regarding chatting as I will probably be leavin home at about 8.00 am each morning, so will be able to have some chat.

Good Morning Sue,

So things are truly back to normal with you attending meetings etc. The first rule of management is to delegate - the only way to survive, and people enjoy responsibility. If you can find the reliable people to delegate to, it really does ease the workload, and lift some of the burden from your shoulders.

Linda it's incredible that things survived the winter we've had. We could easily be caught out with some sharp frosts so it's best to keep things in the greenhouse for a while.

CC. Will you put those sailors down - you don't know where they've been.

Tec

Hello Tec - I hope you and the Duchess are well.

Allan - we've bought the "clean skin" wines for a reasonable price and they've come from the Margaret River region. Also some from the Barossa Valley.

Not so long ago W**lies had them going out at $12.00 per ctn of 6.

Allan - we are partial to the Ninth Island wines from Tasmania. I also love Wolf Blass moscato. It's a dessert wine but I do enjoy it.

I really must be off and start my day. Enjoy the rest of your evening Poms and a good day to you Aussies. Go to bed Diane:-))

Good Morning Allan,

That was a weird start to your day - maybe you thought the volcanic dust cloud had reached WA - or aliens had landed.

I am feeling better thank you - on Friday I go for a Dopla Test, this is like an Ultra-Sound that measures the circulation in my legs and feet. If they find a pulse it's a sign that you're still alive.

'Bye Sue, enjoy your day

Tec,I have one of those tests when I go for my annual diabetes review at the podiatrists. he also searches for hairs on the top of my feet.

Whether this is to confirm that my circulation is ok or to prove Darwin's theory I'm not too sure!

Allan

Tecwyn Report 19 Apr 2010 23:23

How strange Allan, looking for hairs on the top of your feet - very odd.

My Dopla Test is due to heart failure, checking to see if circulation gets that far - they never check the other end lol.

I'm off to my bed now...........

Haven't seen Berona yet today - hope you're ok - take care.

Enjoy your day Allan............

sleep well Poms - including Diane,

Goodnight,
Tec.

Allan

Allan Report 19 Apr 2010 23:35

Tec, it's the oposite with diabetes, as no doubt you are aware.

The blood vessels in the peripheries are the first to show signs of damage and loss of circulation.

I constantly also have to check my feet myself.

The funniest part is, I have very sensitive feet and the minute anyone touches them, I have to pull my feet away as they become very tickilish.

My podiatrist finds this highly amusing and his comment is usually "well it looks like no change and no loss of sensation, but I'll still have to do the various tests! "

Hello whoever is around.

I read your 10 page essay CC, but I forgot the first bit by the time I reached the end:-))))

You will all be proud of me. At todays meeting several items came up on the agenda that I would normally agree to do but I asked others to take on the tasks. All sorted:-)

CC all of the above!

Unfortunately, the wine sampling consists of purchasing unopened bottles.

But...that doesn't stop me from sampling the stuff at the counter, hence my taking my OH with me for a romantic interlude.

OH can drive me back if I get smashed!!

We have a perfect marriage: I drink, OH doesn't :0))
