I thank you all again for your good wishes. I'm sure things should go ahead now and I'll be chasing Allan all over the threads again very soon.

To Berona and CC

It has been a long time since I was chased by females!

Infact, I think that the first time was................never :0((

Well, there you go, Allan! See?! You're never to old for anything!
Try telling that to Tec. He seems to think he is old and every time he mentions it, I am reminded that I am about ten years older than he is!
Of course, you realise that you wouldn't have to run fast with only CC or me after you, don't you?

Lol Allan:-))

CC - my OH had a bad snoring problem. He went to a sleep clinic and after several visits with a specialist decided that he would try a CPAP machine. This has helped greatly and he now gets a full night's rest and doesn't wake up tired and headachy. I also get a good night's sleep. He is able to take it wherever we go including on board the cruise ship and is able to carry it as hand luggage on a plane. Not for everyone but it's worked for us.

The weather here is glorious at the moment - it is due to change on Sunday but we'll just enjoy it for the moment.

My daughter had a chat with my grandson's teacher today and she told her that she has been conducting tests on her class's literacy and numeracy skills so she can arrange the lessons according to how the children are advancing. She told my daughter that our boy is way ahead with reading and spelling and his numeracy skills are above average so she may have to arrange some extra work for him depending on whether he slows down and the rest of the children catch up. We are very proud of him:-))

Edit - Hi Berona you sound so much better:-))

I have never said that I'm old........I am not old............

I had my haircut today - The charges are clearly displayed.

Never am I given Pensioners Rates - always full whack.

So I'm not ahead of my chonological age.........am I?

Had a PM from Diane today - she says to say hello to everyone.
I think she has given up going to bed, and has become nocturnal.
She hangs off the rafters upside down - like a bat...............LOL.
Hello Diane - We all miss you.

Today was a good day - I went to the hospital for my Dopla Test - everything ok. It is strange to hear ones blood whooshing through the veins - but encouraging to know that I'm still alive.

Then a haircut...........at full price.......
I don't know who's silver/grey hair was tumbling into my lap - must have been from that old guy in the next chair to me.

Then after a quick sprint around the Co-op, and the chemist to collect my prescription in a wheelbarrow, I was passing the Red Cross charity shop and spotted two magnificent framed prints in the window. Mostly I collect original water colours, but these prints were rather special.
The lady wouldn't give me a price, but asked me to make an offer, which I did, and it was accepted, and I was delighted.
Now I just have to find space on my walls to hang them.

Good morning/evening everyone

CC I hadn't realise what an effect I had on this thread with those dots!! I have now edited that pesy post of mine and everything appears back to normal, apart from myself of course.

Sue well done to your grandson. it is nice to hear about the otherside of the coin for a change.

Australia has now cancelled all flu jabs for under fives as there have been several adverse reactions in WA with one child now in a critical condition.

These are the normal seasonal flu jabs although I think that they may also containn a swine flu component.

All the adverse reactions so far have been confined to WA so it may be a bad batch. What a worry for parents!

Tec, I would be willing to pay full wack for a haircut if I had any hair to cut.

In my case I would just ask for a short back and polish!

Berona, I promise not to outrun you ! :0))

Hello everyone:-)) Behaving? I hope not:-))

Lucky you Tec - I find that the charity shops here are starting to overprice what they consider "collectibles" and that puts me off having a look. Having said that I bought a set of Apostle spoons a few years back and was very pleased with the price. When we were in the UK a few years back OH looked in the window of a charity shop in Leominster and saw a set of horse brasses. He bought the set for 5 pound.

Sal - if you're looking in we could all help you move. Just tell us the date and time. Mind you - you may be better off without this motley crew:-))

CC - grandson's teacher told my daughter they have programs for children who are ahead of their classmates in literacy and numeracy. She also said that it's not unusual for a child who is ahead to level off and the most of the other classmates to catch up. I can't believe the work that they do at such a young age. Grandson is putting full stops at the end of sentences and writing plurals e.g. cat - cats. He also has homework!!

Sue xx

Edit - Hi Allan - what a worry regarding the flu jabs. I was listening to this on the news.

I am well, Linda - thank you. Young Sue? That has a nice ring to it:-))

It is supposed to rain from Sunday for a few days so I'm going to spend some more time tidying the garden. Pruning has been done and now I need to tackle some weeds and tidy the potted plants. Although we were only away for 10 days the garden and pot plants seem to have become very straggly.

Good evening Linda.

The only time I have a full head of waves these days, is when i'm swimming in the ocean.

Not that I do that very much these days, with the Japanese whalers passing our coast :0))

Hi Allan,
Don't fret about your hair - two old sayings - moss doesn't grow on a rolling stone - grass doesn't grow on a busy street.

Hi Sue,
We have two charity shops in the little nearby town - I don't normally go in them as I find the elderly ladies behind the counter rather intimidating. In one in particular they are always sqabbling among themselves - rich material for a comedy script - bless them, they do it for nothing.

Hi Linda, What ever gave you the idea I'm a gentleman - I do have a reputation to uphold you know.

Tec.

Allan Report 23 Apr 2010 22:58

Linda, Australia's seas teem with aquatic wildlife as equally as venomous as their land based counterparts.

In WA stingers (jelly fish) are very prevalent in the warmer months and the further North you go, the more dangerous they become. We also have, from time to time, those really cute little blue-ringed octopus. Get bitten by one of them and just hope that your mates know CPR or it's bye bye mortal coil!
