Thank you for explaining who Dolly is - I usually say "The cat did it"..
We don't have a cat these days.

Sue, Launceston is a beautiful place, as is Hobart, the other side is beautiful too towards Queenstown and Pillinger I think it's called. I once used to visit a lovely old couple who had gone out from England and settled in Hobart in the late 1930s - sadly their son was killed in N.Africa in WW2. They always wanted to know what was going on in England, but they were happy where they were in Tassie.

Tec.

Good Morning Berona,

Just caught me before I go to bed. You do sound much perkier now - is there such a word, perkier. Anyway, despite not sleeping, it sounds as though things are improving slowly - I do hope so. Must be an awful temptation to scratch, but try to resist.
Get the walking stick and whack hell out of the sofa - pretend it's Allan if it helps - but not me. Take care - get well for the cruise.

Well I am off to bed now, so enjoy Saturday Down Under,
sleep well Up Top,
~~~~~~~~~~~~to Diane, hanging off the rafters.
Goodnight,
Tec.
Berona Report 24 Apr 2010 00:03
Well, I had to smile at that one! "Perkier" is often used to describe a part of the anatomy - but in a much younger person than I am!
Don't know if it would even have applied to me - I was rather flat in some areas in my youth!
You cheeky madam Berona - but sent me to bed with a smile - Goodnight.
Berona Report 24 Apr 2010 00:14
Goodnight Tec - Sleep well.
Allan - I really don't feel disposed to pretend the sofa is you when I hit it with my walking stick. I think you have behaved quite well this last time that Sue was away.
Of course, I haven't checked up on you on the other threads for a few days, so perhaps I should reserve my judgement.
Must go. I have Hot Matches to check - and delete. One even sounds promising!
Goodnight Tec - although I'm probably too late.
My son will be marching on Anzac Day in Hobart. He will be wearing his medals with pride. A friend of his made me a lovely framed collage with photos of him plus replicas of his medals and his badges etc. A fitting tribute to his 14 years in the army.
Edit - hope you have a good day Berona - take care and rest.
Allan Report 24 Apr 2010 00:34
Sorry for the late response. IE froze and I've only just got back on.
Have a good day Berona and I don't mind the sofa being my doppelgänger :0)).
Well I must also cease to tread the boards.
To all, have a great night or day, according to your geographic location.
Good afternoon all:-)
CC its way past your bedtime, too! if your not already, get to your bed;-)
Sue, my father was born in Holmfirth, is it as beautiful as you say?
We've gone back to the rainy season, our suns been kidnapped by the northern states. Give it back, I say!!!!
I'm glad you are starting to feel a little better Berona, I expect you will be needing a couple a naps during today after having a sleepless night, take care:-) xx
I'm still looking for my gg grandfather, so I'm off to look some more:-)
Stay beautiful all:-)
Berona Report 24 Apr 2010 05:36
Hello Carole,
Sorry we took your sun. Can't see it to-day - but we still expect to get near 30. We had four days of rain forecast last week, but the forecast was changed when we got to the third day and still no rain. Still none since then either - but it's expected tomorrow. That'd be right - Anzac Day! Just the day we don't want it so that the march can be held.
I feel OK as far as sleep goes, so I'm not going to try to 'nap'. Hope I can be tired enough to sleep tonight. It can be very boring, sitting up in the middle of the night, reading (for the third time that night!). Not good for the eyes either. Because I want to sleep, the eyes start to feel a bit 'sandy'. Just as well I have plenty of reading matter!
Hi Berona
It looks like its a lovely day in Sydney, I'm watching the Swany's play the West Coast Eagles (AFL) on the telly. The Swany's are winning!
The start of the game was very heart wrenching, they played the last post for Anzac Day, then played the national anthem.
What are you reading at the moment? Its very hard to read when you are tired, I hope you can stay awake till bedtime:-)
Persephone Report 24 Apr 2010 06:44
Perse is okay
I really should read and do a catch-up - last time I looked at the pages Linda was trying to do an Alice and fall down a rabbit hole. Hope all injuries are okay now Linda.
As I zapped through the pages I did see that Sally was moving house and Berona had not been well/itching - hope you have recovered Berona and hope the house move is going without a hitch Sally.
CC - snoring machines do not unplug etc due to OH twisting and turning during the night. The worst thing that can happen is either he knocks it and instead of breathing through it - it becomes attached to his forehead (this has happened more than once with my OH) - sometimes he disconnects the hose and I can hear it whirring and so he gets a thump - and told to restore connection. Also where the hose joins the nose there are a couple of small holes - and cold air blows out them and sometimes the shareé of the bed gets cold air on one's face. I usually just reach over and turn hose around and go back to sleep and he is none the wiser. I think it is wonderful and for him it really is a matter of life or death. He apparently, inbetween, snores was not breathing - and when he did his test in one of their machines he blacked out and keeled over. They said that he stopped breathing 60 times in a minute - which seems to be an awfully busy activity or non-activity as the case may be.
Anzac Day - one of our movie directors Gaylene Preston has brought out a movie called " Home by Christmas" and stars one of our favourite actors the Australian Tony Barry - it looks to be a great movie has got extremely good revues.
She produced a documentary back in 1995 called "War Stories our Mothers Never Told Us" - the experiences of seven WW II women.
I looked in to reply to someone re family tree - and thought I would have a wee peek at the boards and there was Allan with his alter ego ET.
Sorry - my timing is still way out too early for Oz and too late for Brits plus I have been catching up on my out and abouts now that my foot has been reactivated.
I do think of you all and when I get myself back to some sort of normality and have caught up with the accounts etc I will endeavour to work out a time where I can catch you all.
Love and waves to Diane
Hello, Persey - I thought you'd absconded. Nice to see you:-))
Hello again:-)
Thank-you Sue, that's very kind of you:-))
Nice to see you our Persey:-)
Sydney won the footy, my sister will be pleased - her whole family are one eyed supporters. I enjoy watching a good game of any sport, though test cricket is a tad boring!
Helloto Carole, Sue, Persey, Berona and CC.
A beaut day in WA. My daughter came to visit this morning whilst my OH was at Choir Practice.
She stayed for a few hours, until OH came home and then walked away with half of our silverbeet!
Sue, My apologies, Ive been looking at too many places in Yorkshire. My father was actually born in Kirkburton, though I do have other rellies from Holmfirth, I get confused with the names of places.
You are so lucky to have visited Yorkshire, its my dream to get back there one day!!
