Allan - we've had venison and it was delicious so I hope you and your OH enjoy it. I love soft cheeses too.

Only at school Linda, and a very good night to you.

Sue I hope that it is better than 'roo meat which we found has a 'stong' flavour.

Sue,
I forgot to say thanks for the photo's.
Was that you in the sea in front of the ship - did they throw you off, or did you jump? LOL,

Goodnight,
Tec.

Goodnight Linda and Tec - glad you enjoyed the photos. That was OH in the water by the way:-))

Allan - I've had roo meat. My daughter cooked a roo roast and it wasn't too bad but I would prefer a piece of beef or lamb. Venison is a little gamey but cooked properly it's very nice - not as strong flavoured as roo.

Good night Tec

Sue, we'll give it a try and see if was worth being hanged for in the Middle Ages for stealing it.

Not sure about that Allan:-) I can remember watching a show about Henry VIII and there was a banquet scene where he was stuffing his face with all manner of food including venison. I'm sure if I was a more sensitive creature it would've put me off food forever.

Sue I'm willing to try most things. I've had frogs legs, and snails, amongst other things, but my tastes really run to simple.

My one passion, however is oysters.

I love the flavour of raw ones, so reminiscent of the sea!

I also love oyster - well all seafood really. I don't like good quality, fresh food spoiled with heavy sauces etc. Of course a nice sauce enhances the flavour of a meal but if it's too heavy it can mask the taste of the meat or fish.

Sue I totally agree, good quality food simply prepared: you can't beat it

Prises eyes open slowly. I don't know what I am doing here this early on a Sunday morning.I woke early and it seemed like a good idea at the time, now I just feel tired.
It is raining this morning. OH will be pleased because he was thinking that he would have to go and water the potatoes on the allotment as we haven't had any rain for ages.

Berona Report 25 Apr 2010 08:29

Good morning Linda. Just 'reporting in' to let you know that I am keeping up reading the posts, but haven't added to them because I don't like being a whinger, and I have been very miserable with these shingles. I've had one night's sleep in three weeks, so I'm not a nice person to know at the moment!
It rained here lightly all night - just on the one night when we have dawn services in the open air, to honour the people who gave their lives in all wars. No rain for so long, then we get it just when we don't want it! However, it didn't stop the returned people from marching. Thankfully, it wasn't heavy and the temperature is quite high.

Will talk to you more when I get rid of the shingles and become a nicer person.

Oops -sorry Carole. You weren't there when I went off to type. Hope you have had a good day.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 25 Apr 2010 08:32

Hello ladies - it's been cold and miserable with a little rain here today. Autumn has arrived I think.

Go back to bed Linda - no real reason to be up and about is there?

You're organised Carole:-)) I've just popped a meatloaf into the oven. Mashed potatoes, green beans and carrots should go down well with that.

Sue xx

Edit - hello Berona. We're all friends so if you feel like a good moan then do so. We all care for you and need you to let us know how you are. Take care xxxx

Carolee

Carolee Report 25 Apr 2010 09:42

Hi Berona, I couldn't imagine you anything but nice, shingles or no:-)) Please get better soon, take it easy xxx

Sue, I think you have to be organized with three growing young people, plus my OH has been hard at work out in the garden all day:-))
Meatloaf sounds nice, haven't had that in ages! I love mashed potatoes:-)
