Tec, the State Government of WA has enough on it's plate at the moment.

Our revered Treasurer Mr Troy Buswell notorious for sniffing a female staffers chair, and pinging the bra of another MP, all the while fiddling his expenses, has now been caught out having an affair with a fellow MP.

His wife, who has stood by him through all the earlier mishaps, once said "it's not as though he has had committed adultery like so many others in the House"

The rumour is that she has now left him. He is due to make a statement later today.

This pillock is relatively local, coming from Busselton!

What a pathetic individual!

In the UK there are serious water shortages in the South East of England, which is grossly overpopulated. Hot dry summers result in hose pipe bans, even stand pipes in the streets.
Wales and Northern England has a surplus of water.
By following existing motorway infrastructures they could easily divert water resources from these areas to areas of shortages.
This is not Australia, we are only talking about a few hundred miles on this relatively small island - problem solved!

I won't be around in the morning as I have to leave early to attend a funeral. it is my fathers cousin, they were best friends all through their childhood and they kept in touch all of their lives. he was a very nice man, so I am sad to see him go. he was 91,so had had a good long life

They are sad pathetic people Allan.

We will be asked to vote on May 6th in the General Election - I don't feel inclined to vote for any of the mongrels, but feel I have a moral obligation to vote for someone.
There used to be the Monster Raving Loony Party, but I think they've disappeared.

Linda I am sorry to hear you have to attend the funeral of a family member.

Did you have anymore thoughts on the spelling of the Welsh place, besides those I've tried?

Linda, I'm sorry to hear of the family loss.

In case I don't have the chance later I'll say goodbye now as I will not be able to 'chat' again to you until Friday evening/Saturday morning

("thank heaven for that!, says Lindaa, under her breath)

Berona Report 25 Apr 2010 23:27

My shingles are still there and still giving me a bad time, 24/7. It seems that the 'raised' rash is actually very tiny blisters which eventually pop and then dry up. I first noticed them about a week after I began taking Warfarin and thought I was having an allergic reaction, but doc said it was shingles; prescribed anitbiotics and said it would be better by last Wednesday. This 'popping' must be why it has felt like someone is sticking needles into me - all the time. I have lotion for where I can reach, but have been unable to apply it to my back and I won't allow my daughter to come and do it because I am contagious. Although this form of it is usual in old people who have had chickenpox, it can affect anyone of any age, as long as they have had chickenpox - and my family have all had it.
What was painful before, is now more of a sting. I use lotion recommended by the chemist but it hasn't helped much. I think the 'popping' is what feels like needles poking at me and some of them make me throw my arm up involuntarily. I remind myself a lof ot Michael J. Fox, as he is these days - unable to keep still - and I can't get comfortable in any position for more than a minute before another one hits me. It is this which prevents me from falling asleep. The rash on my chest, just under the collarbone, is looking dry and is bearable, but it continues across to my underarm and that's where the pain is. There is a lot of itching still on my back, but I have been unable to either see what it's like, or to put lotion on it, because I can't reach around to it. Apparently, it follows a vein, but as I wasn't good at biology, I can't explain that part of it!
Anyway, I took the last of my antibiotic course this morning, and will see the doc tomorrow. Hopefully, things can only get better - but forgive me for asking WHEN??? I did sleep last night - that's the second night's sleep I've had since it started, and I'm sure it's only exhaustion that allowed me to drop off.
There - I've had my whinge. Thanks for listening to me. I'll get there - and you'll be the first to know when I can bounce back again.
Yesterday, I received sympathy from a friend my own age and she told me that she has had it TWICE! I won't even tell you what I thought about that!

Good morning Berona

Whinge away, that's what we are here for :0)) Whilst we can't physically support you you do know that we can be used as the whipping boys, as it were.

I really do hope that it clears up soon. I recall my father having shingles and I know that he was very uncomfortable.

Hello all - it looks like I've missed most of you. We had a late night last night and slept in this morning.

Berona - we can only hope that things improve for you. I wish I could do something to make it easier. If positive thoughts help then there are plenty winging their way to you.

We were forecast with a few days rain but it's glorious if cool outside. A little more work in the garden I think.

Hi Berona,
So sorry to know that you are still suffering so much. If I could have it for you, I would.
Just wondered, re the problem of getting the lotion to your back. Would it be possible to put the lotion on something like a cut up pillowcase, then if you can get your arms over your head as if you were drying your back with a towel and just do what you can to get the lotion on your affected area.
Otherwise put something to protect your bed cover, and lie on the pillowcase with the lotion on.

I hope you won't think my "suggestions" ludicrous, but just trying to help.

Your daughter would be quite safe to do this as long as she wore surgical gloves - contagion is on physical contact as far as I know.

Does your doctor do house calls? consider it.

Tec.

Thank you all for listening and for your support. I had no experience with this and no knowledge of it. A friend showed me her shingles once - many years ago - and I was shocked to see big ulcerated broken blisters all around her ribs. She was a very 'nervy' type of person and seemed to blame nerves for it. That is the only time I have ever had any experience with it and the only case I have ever known of until now - so I was totally unprepared for it.
As a side-effect of the warfarin I am taking, a 'viral rash' can occur and I am still suspicious that this has had something to do with it - but I can only wait and see.
