Thanks Tec, sleep well

And thank you Berona. It's very hard to think of what I am doing as work: it's also very hard to keep a straight face when I realise I am being paid to do it :0))

Did you have a chat with Ann Glos, Berona? ( She has shingles too and finding it rather unpleasant )

She is lovely and I am sure she would love to hear from you. I am not sure if she looks in on this thread or not, but can be found for definite on General.

PS

Unlike Tec I am a coward and wouldn't dream of having your shingles for you......no sireee...not anyway not ever!

So Susanwithnumbers - you don't like George Michael. Yes he is big-headed but I do like his songs. My daughter and I saw him in concert in Sydney and we loved it.

If I could I would come over and put the cream/lotion on your back for you Berona. I know it is contagious but - I seem to be immune to it all when OH had his little bout and when my father-in-law had it. Do take care - I really do hope it does not go anywhere near your eyes. Get lots of rest and when you can't rest - read - it is hard to take your mind off it when it is irritating you.

Sorry to hear that you have lost a much loved relative Linda - he did indeed reach a good age. I think for all those that reach 90 it is a real bonus especially if they are happy and well.

All this talk of gingham - I had a yellow check gingham shirt I bought in Sydney that I didn't particularly like - have no idea what possesed me at the time. But I did have a black and white check gingham top and I loved it - used to look great with a red skirt that I also loved - this was back in the sixties mind.

However, if you have the time google the Ross Sisters - and watch on youtube their performance (in the 1940s) - they are singing about Potato Salad but when the singing stops they are absolutely amazing - not sure about the gingham shorts but. Go for the youtube version that says VHS quality as this has the best picture.

Note to Tec: We have a remake of "The Prisoner" showing on TV here - I wish they would leave well alone - I have not bothered to watch it.

Hope everyone has a good rest of their day/night.

Persey

CC - did you get back to sleep or did you fry your fish?

Tecwyn Report 26 Apr 2010 16:50

CC. I'm rather partial to fish, so if you have any spare I could have it for dinner tonight - if you get on your bike you could be here by dinner time.

I watched half of the first episode of the remake of "The Prisoner" and switched off - not impressed.
Also equally not impressed with the new Dr Who - but I think that is more to do with the script rather than the new Doctor.

I was to be seen with a lamb under my arm yesterday afternoon. Walking the dog, I found a lamb about 14 days old wandering alone on a busy winding stretch of road. Looked over the stone wall and there was a ewe looking agitated and calling. You have to be careful with stray lambs, no use dumping them in any old field because if they can't find their mother they will starve. Anyway pretty sure these two belonged together I popped him over the wall, and straight away he ran to the ewe that was calling and suckled immediately. The ewe just glared at me. I told her that if she was paying attention her lamb wouldn't have strayed in the first place.

Maybe CC had a premonition about this - but I wasn't missing from the London Marathon, and niether did the farmer chase me - Iechyd Da CC.

I see my ancestral home Plas Llanmihangel is again featured on BBC 2 tonight at 8 pm. With Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen prancing about. What would the ancestors have to say?

Berona, Hope you had a better night, and get on ok at the doc's today.

Tec.

Persephone Report 26 Apr 2010 22:04

Morning

We found a stray lamb once wandering along the highway down the South Island - himself had a bit of a job catching it and in the meantime I drove up to the farm site where we thought it may have come from. I went to the main house and whilst there was smoke coming from the chimney no one was home so walked across this stream on a homemade bridge (new nothing much about trolls then so didn't look for Allan) to two other houses and a large barn and all I met up with were a couple of the farm dogs. Started to head back when OH arrived carrying the lamb - so we popped the lamb over a fence into the paddock with some sheep but there were no other lambs about so we doubted whether mum was there. The lamb was fairly convinced that OH was his new mother by now and followed him along the fence line back towards the house. We left a note and phone number but we received no contact and we have often wondered if the little fellow made it okay.

Good morning/evening all. Hope everyone is well.

I have a vision of you, Tec. Walking along a country road with a sad lamb under your arm. Then the mother glaring at you as if you are a lamb thief. That's gratitude for you!

CC - the new Dr Who begins here month. I'm not sure I'm looking forward to it. David Tennant was sooooo good.

Sue xx

Hello Persey - didn't see you there:-))
