Good morning on this bank holiday Monday - how do I know that it is bank holiday? It is raining of course. Having said that, the sun is shining at the same time, so hopefully it is just an April shower.

If you were here Allan, you would be feeling full. you would normally be emptied today, but as it is a bank holiday, you will have to wait until tomorrow.

Hello:-)) It always seems to be bank holiday in England.

It's been a funny day today weather-wise - warm, cool, sunny, rainy. Typical autumn day:-)

Good evening Sue,

Ah, the rumble of the side loader, being shaken over the open void, and then placed roughly back on the ground!

Sheer bliss!!!

:0))

Hello mad people.

I have just put everything back in place in the kitchen, giving it a good clean as I did it. I had moved everything into the utility room yesterday and was using that as a mini kitchen. I was just thinking of my ancestors who only had tiny sculleries tacked onto the houses. I don't know how on earth they coped in such small places. I suppose they had the range to cook on as well, but even so, I like more space than that.

It isn't always a bank holiday Sue

SueMaid

Well it seems that way Linda - and don't get stroppy with me, lady:-))

I merely made a true statement Sue. "It isn't always a bank holiday". Some people are just so touchy!!

The little girls next door have a cake stall on the beem (see I talk Aussie), so I have just bought some chocolate cake from them, very nice but calorie laden ,oh well.

Linda,
It would be very nice if every Monday was a Bank Hoilday!

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 3 May 2010 17:31

I don't work any more Pat, so it doesn't matter to me. Apart from my two afternoons voluntary work in the Tourist Office that is. I have been this afternoon, it is still open on Bank Holidays,so that means I have to go in any case

PatriciaAnn

PatriciaAnn Report 3 May 2010 17:37

That must be quite interesting! Do you get a lot of visitors?
i rememebr one year I used up about 8 days hoilday by having 8 Mondays off in a row!

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 3 May 2010 17:42

We do get lots of visitors, although oddly we get less on a Bank holiday than a normal Monday. the door counter said that there had been 212 people today

PatriciaAnn

PatriciaAnn Report 3 May 2010 17:47

Strange, I would have thought more people would be visiting different attractions on Bank Holiday.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 3 May 2010 17:54

They probably are, but they have decided where to go,whereas on an ordinary day they are mooching around looking for inspiration.
Plus on a bank holiday there is a very large market which takes up a large part of the square, so there is less parking for the casual visitor

I think St George's Day should be a Bank Holiday!
