Good morning/evening to you all.

Tec, it's rather funny (in a sad way) the experiences that Linda and yourself have had.

As Sir Humphrey said, "the Public Service would be a great place to work, if it wasn't for the public!"

When I was working full-time in local government we all thought that we were doing a great job and keeping things 'moving'

It's only since I've left that I can see what a waste of space we all were.

I'm not sure that we actually achieved anything.

This was reinforced by my recent experience at Margaret River. Staff n the Health Dept were 'too busy' to complete the necessary paperwork, yet were able to spend half an hour on the internet discussing the forthcoming Health Conference in Perth!

The last thing that you want to deal with with such weighty matters on your mind is having to deal with customers!

Good morning Allan, I still haven't resolved the multi colour bin problem

Sue I have sent you some early burials, but not what you were looking for. Tec, has had all the luck for today

I'm glad you've had so much luck Tec. I've had so much luck and information with so many ancestors but this particular side gives me a headache at times:-)) Thanks for looking Linda - I appreciate it.

Good Morning Sue, and Allan,

I was indeed very lucky with the info Linda kindly found for me. I'm quite excited about that.

Allan I suppose in a perverse sort of way my experiences and frustrations today are quite funny - sent my blood pressure through the roof I know that.
I think I turned into Victor Meldrew at one point - do you know of him in Oz?

Linda, I was thinking the burials in Pendoylan - the ancestors had their own private church on that estate, so it follows there may have been a private family grave yard attached to the church. I expect they may be buried there, rather than the Parish Church.

Linda, a kaleidoscope of colours for the collecters of post-consumer unconsumables: Multi colour bins!

Sue, welcome to my world :0))

If I thought that finding Clifford was a headache, my maternal grandfather is going to be even worse and may be a pain in another part of the anatomy!

Sue, It's strange how some sides of the family are easy to research, while others are a nightmare, as if they don't want to be found.

Some however, have met their match when they come up against Linda lol.

CC the entries on the NBI discs are taken from parish records, so there is a chance that they may be there. PM me any names you want me to look for, Or if you have a surname and a particular village, i can just give you all the names there. Not all churches have been transcribed and even if they have, not al years may be on the discs, you just need to get lucky

Tec, they may well have had a private burial, it was fairly common with large houses where there were consecrated chapels

Tecwyn Report 5 May 2010 23:05

Allan, I'm pleased to know Victor Meldrew is alive and well in WA :))
" I DON'T BELIEVE IT"

CC. Sorry to hear of your relatives accident on the cellar steps - hope she will be ok,and recover well.
I also watched Midsummer this evening - very spooky.

Hello - after being kicked off the computer twice I've resorted to OH's laptop. As OH likes to check his emails etc. I'll only be on for a few minutes. Our main computer seems to be throwing a tantrum this morning.

I will be off to bed soon Sue, I could stay up doing my tree all night, but then I would be very growly in the morning

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 5 May 2010 23:14

Sue, Be kind to your main computer - we all get up feeling like that some days - whisper sweet nothings to it lol.

I think it's overheating and the desk needs to be pulled away from the wall.

I'll be off now although it's still early. OH never minds when I use his laptop but I feel like I'm taking it over when there's problems with the main one.

Have a good day/evening:-)) Thanks again Linda.

Bye Sue,
Enjoy your day, where 'ere it takes you.

CC, No I won't spoil Midsommer for you - I bet property is cheap there, and life insurance premiums sky high lol.

Linda, Don't get up growly tomorrow, youhave to go and vote for your favourite politician.

Tec.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 May 2010 23:32

I don't have to vote tomorrow Tec as our election is not until May 27th as the UKIP candidate died.

That means that every senior politician and his dog will be in the constituency for the next few weeks. we won't be able to move for them
We will be away on holiday,so we have applied for postal votes this morning. I always vote in all elections including the council ones

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 5 May 2010 23:38

That's a strange state of affairs Linda - I always vote too - nothing will change in this area as it's wall to wall Plaid Cymru, the Welsh National Party, entrenched here for decades.
Strangely not one single polititian has beat a path to my door this time.
The result on Friday will be very interesting, though I do have an opinion on what the outcome will be.
