Good Evening Linda, and Pat,

Sorry your foot is still hurting Linda, maybe you should have had it looked at - that kind of injury can cause rheumatism there when you get old.
It wasn't my cooking that upset me, I blamed the sliced roast pork I bought to go in sandwiches, even though I ate it the same day.

Pat, I was delighted that Leeds got promoted, and with only ten men on the field, though I am a Newcastle fan.
It has also been freezing here today, wehave the heating on and I'm still not warm.

Tec.

Hello Linda, Tec and Pat and CC.

Tec - sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you're taking something to make you feel better - none of this suffering in silence. As if men do:-))))

Diane - hope you're feeling better soon. Don't let that cold get on your chest. It's hard to shift once it takes hold.

Linda - elusive ancestors are the bane of my life. My dad's maternal grandparents have disappeared as has his paternal grandparents. Can't even find his mother and her father and her brother on the 1911 census let alone find out when great grandad died. Surname of Walker - what chance do you have:-)

Hi Sue,
What's your weather like? I think we had our summer! i was surprised to see that Jersey has a drought and they are worried the potatoes.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 May 2010 21:38

Sorry I disappeared because OH needed to unplug the internet for a while.

I have been out twice today, once to the market this morning, and once to fill bags with horse manure and bring it back to the allotment, I lead such an exciting life lol

Sue send me the details and I will have a look for you, can't promise to find them, but I will have a go

Good Morning Sue,
I'm glad that you've noticed that men suffer in silence :))

Linda - Your life sounds about as exciting as mine, but at least I haven't had to shovel horse manure lol.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 May 2010 21:56

I am not daft enough to shovel Tec, i just hold the bag

Pat - the weather here is lovely. Sunny and warm in the sun but quite cool at night. No rain and the gardens are a bit dry but we can't have everything.

Linda - I'll send you a message but they did seem to have dropped off the face of the earth after my great grandmother died until my grandparents married in 1915.

It's 50p a bag here - already bagged.

Could we raise the level of this conversation.........

Allan will say something intelectual when he comes on - and he may even be able to spell it........don't laugh - I'm suffering - in silence. :))

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 May 2010 22:10

intellectual Tec , but yours was close enough.

They don't sell bagged manure round here and in any case we get it for free on freecycle

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 May 2010 22:11

I have just realised why you don't want to talk about manure tec!

Worms must be light sensitive- because if you shine a torch on a worm in the dark, it shoots back down it's hole........

How amazing!

SueMaid Report 8 May 2010 22:36

That's fascinating Tec - anymore little gems of wisdom?

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 May 2010 22:36

I take it that you have just been out walking the dog

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 8 May 2010 22:39

No - I can't go walking just now.....think about it?

I was in the garden with the dog, and worms were coming up between the paving stones, but they shot down their holes when I shone the torch on them.

I was trying to be intellectual.........and failing!

Good morning/evening to everybody.

Happy Mother's day to all in Oz.

Perhaps Sue should rename this thread "The Walking Wounded", or, in Linda's case, "The limping wounded"

Tec I bet the green sausages looked pretty, but the colour should also have been a warning!!

All this talk of manure; I've only just learnt to call the basic material fertiliser :0))

I would prefer not to think about it Tec,

Good morning Allan ,have you been for your usual constitutional then?

SueMaid

Good morning Allan - maybe you could add to this wonderful discussion on manure and worms:-))

Thank you for the Happy Mothers' Day greeting.
