Hello CC, you arrived before i noticed. We have old cd's strung up on the allotment, but the birds don't seem worried about them

SueMaid Report 9 May 2010 23:03

CC - I didn't expect you to describe my property to all and sundry. By the way - the stone kangaroos are my pride and joy and platypus live in creeks and rivers they don't roam around front gardens playing with wallabies and possums. We only have 1 possum. Oh and the chauffeur doesn't drive the ute - he drives the stretch 1956 FJ Holden. The rusty ute is a garden ornament - we do have class you know:-))

Good evening Tec.

What a noble deed to do:

Sue, if the weather is fine OH and I could always pitch a tent in the Botanical Gardens.

From memory they have rather a fine view of the Opera House :0))

Allam - the Botanical Gardens do indeed have a wonderful view of the Opera House.

Don't shout at me Linda - I'm still fragile - I haven't put much on Legacy yet, I knew you would ask me eventually. It's like waiting for the teacher to ask for your homework when you haven't done it.

CC. I'd love to be your secretary, and you can sit on my knee if you like.

Good Morning Sue, and Allan,

Tec.

Allan

Allan Report 9 May 2010 23:10

CC I'm glad you said stone kangaroos and not stone lions or I would have been wondering about Sue's ethnic origins

Tecwyn Report 9 May 2010 23:14

Allan, I am a noble dude, but not appreciated.

Did you know that Allan in Welsh means out, or outside - you could say " The cat is allan" thought you'd like to know that.

Tec.

SueMaid Report 9 May 2010 23:15

Well the chauffeur is only part-time, CC. He's also the butler and general dogsbody. Well someone has to clean the pool and one can't get the staff these days. How did you know his name:-))

My mother had a fake cat with glowing eyes CC, I don't think it worked though
Sue, have you been keeping a lottery win from us?

Tec, you don't need to type your stuff into Legacy, just export it from Ancestry ot GR, i think that you need taking in hand.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 9 May 2010 23:22

No Linda - would I lie to you?

Tec - you musn't allow yourself to be bullied by Linda:-))

CC - damn that Google Map camera.

Allan

Allan Report 9 May 2010 23:23

Tec, that explains my affinity with bins!

"Are the wheelie bins allan?"

CC I wasn't insinuating that Sue was a direct, or indirect descendent of Lucy, which we all are.

In Perth the Italian immigrants were at one stage known for building palatial houses and flanking the front door would be two enormous stone lions.

You could always pick the houses of Italian families.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 May 2010 23:25

Oh Sue, I would never bully Tec, i shall merely guide him in the same way the Duchess does

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 May 2010 23:27

The best things on the allotment are short canes with beer cans on them, they rattle in the wind and the birds don't like the noise

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 9 May 2010 23:28

I understand that Linda - most men need to be "guided".

Actually Allan - I am a direct descendant of Lucy - that's my mum's name:-))

Without wishing to appear rascist - you can always pick the homes of Italian families here for the same reason. Palatial with big stone fountains in the front gardens. Quite beautiful but a little over the top.

Linda doesn't bully me Sue, she tries to help, but I think despairs. I expect in her teaching days she had one like me in every class.

Vulgar and tacky............

A beautiful house near me was sold recently........

The new owners turned up today........

In a gold Rolls Royce Convertable.
He had a shirt on that would make them wince in Hawaii, she had legs up to her ears, and a skirt halfway up her...........

Oh dear.........

Time for bed for me anyway,so have a good day down under and sleep well CC and Tec.

Waves to Dianne and to our very special lady Berona, who we are all missing

I forgot to ask how you are today Tec, you must think I don't care, but I do of course

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 9 May 2010 23:36

I had a great aunt Lavinia, CC. My children find it fascinating that I have a birthday card written by my two great aunts Martha and Jenny who were born in 1874 and 1876. Both ladies lived well into their 80's and I have photos of both of them.

Good night, Linda - thanks for starting my day with a laugh:-))

CC - a lot of Italian immigrants were bought out here for their building skills. The usual practise was to have two or three families living in one house while another one was being built. Very smart because of course eventually all families would have their own home. My grandson in Hobart has Italian grandparents. They bought a tiny two bedroom house on a couple of acres of land in an area where no one really wanted to live and lived there for a number of years before building up and out. They now have a beautiful large house with a magnificent fruit and vegetable garden. The old kitchen down stairs is used for bottling and wine making. I'm glad to say we have brought home many a bottle of red wine and bottles of homemade tomato sauce.

Sue, far from being racist I have a great deal of admiration for the Italians over here

the families have got to where they are by sheer hard work. The early families started with nothing but in Perth and fremantle they started the market gardens, many of which continue today.

I have also had Italian friends and their stories have been incredible!
