Good Evening CC, I think "Going Home" is very nice, I can play that on piano, but it is a little sad. My OH want "When The Saints Go Marching In" played by a jazz band.
I want a demented send off, as suits my personality, no black, wedding outfits preferable, ladies in outragious coloured hats, button holes for everyone.
"Ac i chi hefyd" would be correct - but too formal, in reality one would simply reply " i chi" which sort of means "you too"
Allan, Some people are having problems with their insurance companies over the Ash problem, as usual they are trying to get away with it.

I'll have to giveGenuki a go with my paternal grandmother's family who all, or most, seem to have been pretty static in the Northwhich area in Cheshire

Allan, If you log onto that Rootschat site I mentioned, and click on "Cheshire" and make an enquiry re your Paternal Grandmother's family, you may get a result there.
I am having a break from my tree for a few days. I got into a pickle, and went into Genealogy Meltdown Mode, so will go back to it when my brain has gone off the boil.

Tec, Your comments about your send off brought a smile to my face.
My kids think I'm weird, and they could be right. I don't want a funeral. I hated them in life and avoided every one I could. So I want to have as little fuss as possible. No funeral service, private cremation, if the law will allow a cardboard box as a coffin, I'm all for it. About a month after the event they can take my ashes to a memorial service (only in the cardboard box provided, though) and they can have a party. That's it. I don't care what they do with my ashes; after all, much of the expense of a funeral is for the living and my kids don't have much money (and I have none!!) so I don't want any fancy crypt or anything for the ashes to go in.
Yeah, they think I"m weird. I think it's my Scots heritage coming to the fore. lol.
Pam.

Thanks CC It's currently 9.53am here in beautiful one day, perfect the next, Queensland, Australia.
A jam jar may not be quite big enough, methinks, but like the track it's taking me down. A biscuit barrel, perhaps or even a magnum champagne bottle????
Pam.
Waited for a bit and no one seems to be around so will come back later. House stuff calls and I just got a phone call that I'm back at work tomorrow evening. Time to put some more shekels in the coffers.
Cheers all.

Hi, Pamela. Are you another one of these early-risers? To answer your question - Allan is two hours behind Eastern Australia now. He was three hours behind because W.A. didn't have daylight saving. but now that weare all on standard time - it's two hours difference.
He often gets up early and goes for a walk at 3am. That's when he talks to the wheelie bins. (???). He is really harmless, but it might be best that he is so far away from our side of the country! He sometimes takes off and turns up on other threads - particularly when Sue is away. When that happens, we just lead him gently back to this one.

Hello my lovelies. I'm back from sunny but freezing cold Hobart. We left Hobart at 10am and it was 6 degrees with a clear blue sky and arrived at midday in Sydney where it was 18 degrees, wet and overcast. Of course I'm missing my son and grandson already but it's always nice to be back home.
Linda - I'm so sorry that your holiday plans have been upset. Hopefully it won't be too long before you can take off.
Carole has sent me an email to say that she is having internet problems and she sends her love to everyone. Hurry back lovely lady:-))
Hope everyone is well. Did I miss you all? Sure did:-))
Talk later.

Hello Sue, Welcome back
Linda, that is an absolute *&&^%% about your holiday :0((
To CC and Berona, thank you for your character references !
Pam, just regard me as the dotty, or eccentric, great Uncle (which I am)
I'm a GU to 4 :2 of each, but alas, not yet a grandfather

To say i am gutted is an understatement. I am trying to get through to the holiday company to try and sort something else out, but all you get is a recorded message saying they are experiencing such high volumes of calls they can't answer, then they cut you off. If you cancel you can get your money back, but as a gesture, if you rebook, they will give you a magnificent £50 each off a new booking. I have been looking at the website to see what they have available, there are currently other flights from other airports in the next few weeks, but they won't last long as there are thousands of people who have lost out and of course they are all hundreds of pounds more than we have already paid

Hi everyone, Linda I was sorry to hear about your holiday. I assumed that because the airports were opened you would be ok. I wore a suit to work today because the photographer was in taking pictures for our website!

Greetings From The Principality,
Today was another lovely day in my little corner of the Empire, but I was in lazy mode, so didn't do much except a lot of sitting in the garden planning my water feature - so I did exercise my brain, and this evening I did a lot of watering - we are promised warm weather by the end of the week.
Linda, I wonder if you managed to sort out another holiday? it must be so annoying that you could probably have got away today - it seems curious that they can just cancel the holiday, because of a one day delay. I hope you can book another one soon.
Good to see you back Sue, hope you had a great time in Hobart with the family, even if it was a little cool. We were all remarkably well behaved, and thought we would save being naughty until you returned.
Pat, I'm sure you looked very smart for the new web site.
A young lady came to my door this evening, she had quite a strong Australian accent, and asked if she could take a photo of the house. Her grandmother had owned it, and when she died, we bought it. I remember when when we bought the house we had to negotiate, through the solicitor, with a woman in Australia who had inherited the property. Those were the days before the internet, so there were agonising delays in the negotiating. The woman we dealt with was this young lady's mother. They live in Melbourne apparently.

Good morning /evening all
Tec, the young lady could have been an agent for Google Street View :0))
But what a suprise in any event.
Good evening Pat. I hope that you smiled nicely for the photographer.
I had to go to Donnybrook yesterday and OH went with me. We stopped off at the garden centre where, last year we got our Kale seedlings. None there.
Apparently, the centre get them from a local farmer who grows produce and sells any ecsess seedlings through the centre.
And it's back to Donnybrook tonight.
