Was that Sherbert's Unfinished Symphony?

He was notorious for starting things and never completing them

I must have inherited his genes then - OHs mantra..........
"When are you going to finish that"?
When are you going to finish this"?

Hi everyone,
It's a quick hello and goodbye because it's gone 11pm and I've work tomorrow. It seems a long week.!
I can do spreadsheets . It's part of my job! I got some books from the bookclub to do with Word and Excel. They're in the house somewhere!
Night x

Good Evening Pat,

Very Zen, CC, very Zen

A guy goes into a Buddhist Pizza shop, and says:

"Make me one with everything!"

Very good Allan,

I don't know how your brain copes so early in the morning, mine doesn't achieve consciousness until at least after the second cup of coffee, and not even then sometimes.

Good morning to those who are still here and good night to those I've missed again.
I'm beginning to wake a little earlier now so I might still catch some of you before you go off and leave the thread.

My rash seems to have gone, leaving only marks where it was, but the skin is still very sore and the vein under the skin as tender as it ever was. This is the sixth week, and I'm still waiting for it to go away.

Allan - spreadsheets are wonderful for helping with any kind of mathematical problem. In my working days, I taught users how to set them up and put formulae in them - but now I just use them for anything from my Christmas Card list to my household budjet - to recipes. A bit of a let-down from what I was doing before, but it makes life easy.
My income all goes into one account, then I enter what I paid and the spreadsheet tells me how much should be left - and anything over that amount can be transferred to a savings account or spent on a whim. I have no money worries at all because it was all set up a few years ago and works fine for me.

Well I'm away to my bed now.
Enjoy your day Allan,
sleep well CC.

~~~~~~To Diane,
Goodnight,
Good night Tec,
CC many thanks for the template, I'll use it if you permit me to.
Spreadsheets for Dummies :0(( I'll try it out CC.
Berona, it is good to 'see' you again. I've used many spreadsheets at work for budgetary purposes, but these have always been set up by the finance depts.
It tends to make me lazy, whereas word processing I've had to learn, even though I am very slow at typing.
Good Morning Berona,
I was off to bed, but just spotted you as I went to zap the thread.
Good to see you here, and to know things are improving albeit slowly.
It has certainly been a long haul, and I know you'll be so glad to put it all behind you.
I hope that while you've been incarcerated, you've been practising your dance steps, I'm sure that was uppermost in your mind LOL.
Well, I really am off to bed now,
Take care Berona, and keep taking the tablets.
Goodnight,
Tec.
Allan - all you need is practice.
When I was working in a Computer department, our Operations manager was a little man who always kept his hands in his pockets - then after a while we saw that he had been thalidomide baby and had no fingers on one hand - only a tiny thumb. He was amazing to watch when he was typing - his hands 'flew' over the keyboard with the one good hand hitting all the keys and that little thumb used for the space bar. We all admired him.
Good morning one and all.
Good to see that you are on the mend Berona
I use spread sheets for just about everything Allan.
I can do a mean Power point presentation CC. The people who annoy me with those are the ones who use every little gimmick at every opportunity. They have letters flying in from all over and the things jumping about all over the place. Just because you can doesn't mean you have to. Less is more with Power Point as far as I am concerned
LindainHerriotCountry
LindainHerriotCountry Report 20 May 2010 11:56
I used Power Point for presentations CC, long gone are the days when the old fashioned blackboard was good enough.
Actually, i was glad to see the end of the blackboard and all the chalk dust, I used to be covered in the stuff. Blackboards were replaced by white boards which you wrote on with a white board pen (like a felt tip). They were supposed to clean easily, which they did at first, but then the surfaces became worn and they were a swine to clean. They have now been superseded by the all singing all dancing interactive white boards, they were just coming in when I stopped teaching
Good Morning Linda,
Good Morning CC.
Today is strange in Welsh Wales. It is overcast, and there is a layer of mist like a cap sitting on the mountain, but it is not cold, in fact rather pleasant out there. The weekend is supposed to be very warm 25C.
I see you are still all talking about things I don.t understand - so I'm off to take a ride on my Penny Farthing, and remember a time when the world was sane and simple - just like me!
Tec.
LindainHerriotCountry
LindainHerriotCountry Report 20 May 2010 12:31
I don't think my world has ever been sane Tec. In fact to prove it, I was doing some dusting in the bedroom this morning when I thought the polish seemed strange. I had actually picked up a can of deodorant and was spraying it all over the furniture
It is warm here as well, but a bit overcast.
I am off to entertain the tourists this afternoon, there have been lots of Aussies and Americans around this week.
I am going to buy a couple of Rosemary bushes on my way. I had a large one in the garden, which has been there for years, but it died over the winter so OH dug it out. I had forgotten that when I went out scissors in hand to cut some off to use for dinner last night. Luckily I have a small one which I put in last year,so I cut a tiny bit off that.
Tecwyn
Tecwyn Report 20 May 2010 12:41
I hope you're not losing your marbles Linda. The bedroom will smell lovely, but the furniture may not appreciate it.
We have a few tourists about, mainly Dutch and German.
Haven't noticed any Americans for a couple of years now, we used to get them, and Japanese too, but they've disappeared as well.
We had a rosemary bush, but it went too woody, so I dug it up, but might get another one - I like to use it in cooking, mostly lamb. OH bought lavender plants yesterday, so I'd better plant them today.
Don't work too hard this afternoon.
Tec.
I won't Tec, I had better go now, so speak to you later
