Berona Report 21 May 2010 23:24

I just typed a posting and 'submitted' it and it disappeared. Anyone else had that problem?

I lose things sometimes as well Berona, but not tonight

LindainHerriotCountry Report 21 May 2010 23:28

lol Berona, I don't. having such fair skin, I need to be careful
The weather forecast is saying it could get up yo 28 degrees by Sunday

Berona

Berona Report 21 May 2010 23:34

Me too. I only have to be within a few feet of water - under shade - and I come home sunburnt. I then peel and freckle.
It's not fair - my family had been in this country since my gr/gr/grandparents emigrated - and yet my OH was an adult before he came here - tanned nicely, as do all of our children, and yet they are as fair as I am!

LindainHerriotCountry Report 21 May 2010 23:36

I have just looked at the on line forecast and it has 26 tomorrow, 27 on Sunday, 25 on Monday, then 14 on Tuesday when the wind changes

Berona

Berona Report 21 May 2010 23:36

Now , 28 is just how I like it. However, it depends on the humidity. If that's high, it is uncomfortable - but if the humidity is low - lovely!

Well ladies, I'm off to bed now,
So enjoy your day Berona,
sleep well Linda,

~~~~~~~~~~~to Diane,
Goodnight,
Tec.
LindainHerriotCountry Report 21 May 2010 23:41
28 is too hot Berona, unless i am on holiday and am under a sunshade by a pool.
Our houses are designed to keep heat in, they are not built to cope with hot weather and we don't have aircon of course.
Goodnight Tec, sleep well
We certainly are thin on the ground. It is only 8.20 here,but already it feels hot. We are hopeless we moan about the cold weather, but secretly we can't stand the heat
Allan Report 22 May 2010 11:50
Good morning to all in the UK and good evening to Aussies.
Violent thunderstorms this morning limited my ability to chat (OH came down to fine me on the 'puter whilst Mother Nature was putting on a light show. Clout round the ears and the plug pulled on me. Literally!!)
It has been raining all day, which is very welcome. I made some bread rolls in the traditional manner although it took ages for the dough to rise as it was so cool!
Still, it is late Autumn, very nearly winter.
Pamela Report 22 May 2010 11:59
Hello all, Now, I'm confused. You are calling 24c hot???? It's winter where I am and our forecast for tomorrow is 17-28c and I'll be wearing long sleeves.
I guess most people will be gone by the time this gets in, but;; them's the breaks.
Good evening Pam.
Are you keeping well?
Temp never got above 19c here but we have had the fire on. Very cosy!
LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 May 2010 12:50
Long sleeves at 24 degrees Pam? That is shorts and tee shirt weather. It is about 26 here and too hot to be outside for too long.
Just to save the thread from sinking into oblivion.
Three times I've been into the garden to do odd jobs, but only lasted about 20 minutes before running back inside - what a wimp - it's about 26/27 here this afternoon.
Guess I can't cut the mustard any more.
Tec.
LindainHerriotCountry
LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 May 2010 16:49
Neither can I Tec, unless I am next to a swimming pool, under a sun shade.
OH is mad and can't sit still, he is for ever doing jobs, we have a patio which runs across the back of the house and he has weeded all the cracks in the paving. he has now gone out for his hour long bike ride.
I have planted my salad crops in the old galvanised baths which I have on the patio. I prefer to have the cut and come again salad leaves here as I can just cut what I want when I am actually making the meal.
We are just going to have some leek and potato soup this evening, leeks from the allotment,but bought potatoes and onions as our own grown are long used up. i had better go and cut some leeks.
Page 2 again, I think that Sue really needs to get up earlier to tend to her thread. After all what is more important sleep or the thread?
OK, thinking about it, sleep on Sue
