Welcome back Sue - we did miss you.
Wonderful news for you all re your daughters engagement, and a puppy too. Congratulations and Good Luck to them always.

We are not moaning about the weather, just saying that it's too hot. Were you to be here in January, when it's -7 C you would say it was too cold.

Linda, You can't really give a labrador a haircut.

Tec

I bet you can Tec, with some electirc sheep shearers

SueMaid Report 23 May 2010 23:13

Hello Tec - I missed you all too.

Our "take" on the weather is all relative really. What you call hot we call pleasant and what is freezing to us is often merely chilly to you. I think we may be in for a cold winter - but it's very dry so far.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 May 2010 23:16

I don't think your winter will be quite as cold as our last one Sue

Allan is late this morning. Do you think he has finally been rounded up and taken to the funny farm for talking to his bins

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 23 May 2010 23:24

No - it certainly won't be as cold as your winter was Linda. I don't expect snow where we are either:-))

Tecwyn Report 23 May 2010 23:26

Linda my dog would never forgive my if I attacked him with the shears - he is a very staid, dignified old gentlemen, who regards me with disdain as it is, he thinks I'm raving mad, I can tell by the looks he gives me.

CC. You do see some excitement down there - for excitement here we sit on the side of the main road taking makes and car numbers.

Allan is attending a Wheelie Bin Convention - he is World President of that organisation.

Allan is very well respected in the world of Wheelie Bins. I'm just hoping that respect isn't destroyed by scandal:-))

Ah, that explains his absence Tec.

It is time the Duchess gave you the look, I am going too before she casts her glance this way as well.

Goodnight Sue and Cc as well

Welcome back Sue - good morning and good evening to all.
Sue - it sounds very much like your daughter has found the right one and I hope they will all be very happy together.

Where is Allan? Do we need to go looking at other threads to find him again?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 23 May 2010 23:48

Sleep tight Linda.

I must also be off to start my day - we're puppy sitting today:-))

Goodnight and day to you all.

Oh Berona - I'm so pleased to see you. I'm just off but hopefully will catch up with you later. Take care.

Good Morning to you Berona,

I'm soon off to bed - it's still very warm, so will be an uncomfotable night again. Unlike you civilised folk, we don't have aircon.
This very hot weather makes me ache - next week we'll all be grumbling it's too cold againI expect - nothing like the British weather,as I expect you discovered when you lived here.

Hello all, I'm at work. Eating my home made sandwich. It was yum. I finally got up the courage to try cooking some silverside in the slow cooker. I will never do it any other way again. It was/is just great - so nice and tender and it was ready when I walked in from work last night. All I have to do was cook the veg and voila!!!! There ya go.

So much happening for everyone. Congrats to the newly engaged pair. Now that's a unique way to celebrate. A puppy. But did she get an engagement ring as well????

I love the weather we have up the hill from Cairns. In the summer it's divine. I have a great airconditioner. It's called a Raintree. It has a 40metre canopy and it keeps the sun off the house. Lovely. In the winter it sheds it's leaves, which can be a bit of a mess but the mowers take care of that, and all the warmth of the sun comes in. Most people can't believe that I live in the tropics and don't have a heater, an air conditioners nor built in ceiling fans as most northerners have.

After I finish eating my lunch I'm going for a walk up the street to the bank. Don't have another interview appointment until about 3pm and will be working through till 8pm. It's currently 12.39 here. So, SueMaid Walkies for me too. Ii do hope Allan comes back soon. I'm sure he'll have a lot of interesting things to say. If he's got the ear of Her Madge and Phil then we might get a firsthand report of how they feel about Fergies latest caper.

Cheers all.

Pam.

Hello ladies - if you're still around. Yes my daughter got the most gorgeous engagement ring. The puppy was a sign of commitment as a family - sweet eh? She's a cross labrador and cattledog. Beautiful soft grey with a sweet little lab's face. They've called her Bella before the littlies got a chance to name her. She could've been called the most amazing names if they'd been allowed to pick a name:-))

Nice to see you back Carole and I'm so glad you keep coming back Pam - you are officially part of the "gang":-))

Wow Pam, the official seal of approval from Sue, this will indeed rank as a memorable day for you. No? Oh well, welcome to the gang anyway.

Good to see you back up and internetting Carole , I hate it when things go wrong with the computer. It wasn't so bad when my son lived with us as he works in the computing field ( not in a field, but in a building), but he is at the other end of the country now.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 24 May 2010 10:49

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, Linda:-)) I also hate it when the computer goes wrong. It's good but also annoying that my young nephew can sort out most problems very quickly.
