Two weeks without a laptop, how will I cope? Fine, if I was at home, it would be different,but while I am lazing by a pool, I don't miss it. I just check in with my children by text and the odd email. I use a hotmail because logging into my main email never works half of the time, so I don't bother. I use one of my hotmail addresses

Good morning/evening to everyone else. It is cold and wet here so winter is definately on the way.

Allan you are forgiven for going AWOL. I'm still wondering where Persey is. She wasn't staying with you and your OH? I feel for your poor OH - a cold makes you feel so miserable. Look after her well.

Apropos of nothing, we have the Plumber visiting today to change the taps in the downstairs bathroom. The hotwater tap is dripping continuously and I have been unable to get them dismantled to change the washer so the thing has gradually become worse.

We had the State budget last week and, no suprise water cahrges have been increased by 17% and electricity charges are also up by about 10%. This on top of last years power price rise of 25%.

hence the need to cure the dripping tap and also having replacement ones which I can dismantle for changing washers!

Tec, I now make sure that all our taps are easy to dismantle as it is so frustrating, not to mention expensive to call a plumber in to simply change a washer!

I am glad it wasn't just me then....I thought my life had come to an end for a mo there.

You're right about that Allan. When I revamped the bathroom last year I invested in some really good taps that were easy to dismantle - they were expensive, but cheaper in the long run, because of plumbers fees.
All the taps etc in the house have isolation valves fitted, including the shower and cistern.

Better late than never. I've probably missed wishing Linda a great holiday - but the thought was there - and she just might read this before she goes.
Hope everyone is well. Seems like we might have the same weather on both hemispheres. Our forecast for to-day is showers and a max of 17 and yes! we are having a light shower occasionally! Wow - the weatherman got it right!
