'bye Allan. Have a good day.

Pamela Report 6 Jun 2010 01:17

I have to get off here for a while, too. I've been entering some new research results on my tree. Very exciting. I've found some info on my father's elusive family. Unfortunately, most of it's in Scotland. but that's OK. At least I've found something. Took me ages to track down the history of my maternal grandfather so why does it surprise me it's taking this long to get the paternal side sorted.

Now it's daily grind of that stuff we aren't allowed to use the word for here.

Be back later. Maybe around 4pm our time and see what's happening.

Cheers all, have a great day.

Pam.

I will be the night shift.

How about that Berona - Allan has offered to send me his jumpin' jack flash mac - I wonder how long before I get it.
You are very droll Allan.
My daughters are 5 1/2 years apart in age but they seemed to chug along fine together and they are both like their mothers-in-law and both my sons-in-law like me or so they say - if they don't a clip around the ear will soon fix that. In fact on the whole we do very well - but OH's sister well that's a different story - her life is or was a bit like "Days of our Lives" - going from one relationship to another first marriage yielded two boys, then another child, then another marriage and child and when she left that relationship the father would not let her see her son when she came back from overseas for a holiday.
Her eldest boy (well he is a grown up) turned up for his grand parents funerals but we never saw the other grandchildren.
SIL is a strange person - when her mother died her first cousin said to her I am so sorry about your mum - SIL replied yeah well you probably liked her.

You can rant all you want Sue - I understand where you are coming from.

Persey....

Berona Report 6 Jun 2010 12:28

I wouldn't be hanging by the thumbs waiting for that mac, if I were you Perse.
Allan hasn't caught up with inflation and parcels don't get very far when they only have a 1cent stamp on them.

SueMaid Report 6 Jun 2010 12:30

Hi Persey. My 3 get on fine - especially the boys although the eldest son is in Hobart. When the boys get together they're great mates. They both adore their big sister but she gets very "big sisterish".

I've been busy cooking today for a friend of my daughter's who has been in hospital for an operation. She is a single mum of a little girl and has no family other than a sick father. My daughter is helping to look after the little one as she is the same age as her eldest boy. The children go to school together. I thought that cooking a few days of meals would be a practical way of helping. The kitchen smelled lovely this morning:-))

Hi Berona - you snuck in while I was typing. Are you still waiting for your flowers from Allan?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 6 Jun 2010 21:29

Hello everyone. I'm a page 3 girl today;-))

After a reasonable day yesterday it appears to have rained most of the night. Our garden looks bedraggled now and the weeds are thriving. Luckily the grass doesn't grow so fast at this time of year as it would drive OH crazy not being able to cut long grass.

Good Morning Sue,

I've just watered my garden, and all the tubs and pots, of which there are many. The thundery showers forecast for us didn't materialise, but we are now promised two days of rain, and cooler temps.
Spent the last few days laying paving slabs to create a nice sitting area where my solar powered water feature is going. I've grown a wisteria on a huge frame, and as neither of us like sitting in direct sunshine, this affords a nice shady area to sit, listenening to the tinkle of running water.

As the sound of running water has a strange effect on the Duchess, it looks as though I may be sitting down there on my own most of the time.

Tec.

Good evening/morning everybody

Berona, I might not have caught up with inflation, but inflation has caught up with me; my stomach is testament to that.

Pam, your intercession worked yesterday. The weather brightened up and we reached a top of 23c with plenty of sunny periods.

Sue, what a nice gesture on behalf of your daughter's friend.

Persey, my mac and me have been together for a long time: it's like a second skin ;0))

Tec, your garden sounds like a little oassis in the Welsh country side, which is itself an oassis within Britain.

Tecwyn Report 6 Jun 2010 23:11

Good Morning Allan,

Thank you - my garden is like a little oasis of tranquility to me - as we don't seem to go very far these days, mainly due to OHs health, I am quite happy to spend most of my time in the garden, always looking for ways to improve things. When I want to broaden my horizons I can look left and see sheep grazing on the mountain, look right to the sea across to the Llyn Peninsular, and if I drive to the top of the mountain, up a narrow track, I can see the mountains of Southern Ireland on a clear day. Up on the mountain there is a lake where one can sit and "hear" the silence, broken only occassionally by the plop of a fish jumping the surface of the water.
I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, but never take it for granted.

Tonight however, my knees and my legs are screaming abuse at me for what I have subjected them to over the past few days, but it's self inflicted, so can't complain - must be getting old.

Tec.

G'day, G'day all.

Cool here this morning. Temp at 7am was 11c/55f. Looks like it's going to warm up into a nice warm sunny day though. Wish it would rain, though. Creek's getting a bit low.

Allan: I'm glad that my intercession worked for you. Maybe that's why I"m feeling a bit tired today. lol. Nope, probably because I got fed up with the long guinea grass overhanging the clothesline and took to it with a pair of secateurs and today my whole body is in protest. I'll give it one day to get the protestation out of it's system and then hit it again tomorrow. That will be the last day this week that I'll have to do any of that sort of stuff because the rest is full with doctors, physio's etc.

Got to have this breath test for helicobactor pylori bacteria in the stomach. Who'd have thunk that breathing into a balloon would tell them what's going on in your stomach??? Wonders never cease.

G'day Pam. Cool? In Queensland? Never!

Tec, it sounds idyllic. Of all the places I would like to revisit, Wales would be at the top of the list!

Good Morning Pam,
Good Evening CC,

Pam it sounds as though you and I are in the same state. You hacking away at the long grass, and me throwing paving slabs about - I thought things would get easier as I got older, but I was wrong it seems.

CC I am intriqued by your office colleagues - do spill the beans!

Well I'm off to bed now,
Enjoy your day Sue, Allan, Pam, Berona, and all,
Sleep well CC.
~~~~~~~~~~~to Diane who must be in bed,
Goodnight,
Tec.
I'm sorry I can't stay long to-day. My daughter is coming in about an hour and she always looks around to see what h**s*w**k she can do for me - so that means I have to make the place look 'finished' within the next hour to try and stop her!
Will pop in later in the day - or evening.
