Hello everyone:-))
I hope you are all well, happy and smiling:-)))
Welcome home Linda, though it sounds like you would be glad of it. So... where to next? My OH has left me for the weekend to play ball with his friends, I was invited, alas the weather is too cold brrrrr so Ive decided to stay at home with the children:-))))
During the week I received a marriage certificate for my ggg grandparents and I'm having a really hard time trying to make out what some of the names are, I even went out and bought a magnifying glass to see if that would help me, all to no avail.... I feel like throwing the thing away!!
Allan, that's great news about your sketches, I hope it leads to more connections for you. I am envious, you are soooo lucky:-)))
Its been a hectic week with the children having mid year exams and we have been pretty busy at work, I'm looking forward to a nice sleep in over the weekend.
Ive made pasta bake for dinner so I'm off to eat:-))

Hello Carole, a weekend away sounds good but not if you were to be a "ball" widow, so staying home is probably a better option, at least you will have the bed to yourself.
I am off to London (ish) for the weekend to see my daughter, apart from that we have no firm plans. I suppose we ought to organise a nice hotel break in mid July as it will be our Ruby wedding, but it is close to the eta for our granddaughter to be.As for the abroad type holiday,we will go somewhere in September, probably Croatia, but I will think about that holiday once I have got over this one.

Hi there Linda, I'll have to put the electric blanket on, seeing that OH wont be here to keep my feet warm;-))
Congratulations, Linda on your upcoming ruby wedding anniversary, we've been married just over half as many years than you and your OH. Is it 60 years that you receive a letter from the queen, herself? Its her birthday we are celebrating this Monday, she has kindly given us the day off, bless her!

I don't know about the 60 years, I will have strangled him before then! I am amazed that we have almost reached 40 years, it just seems like yesterday and I don't feel that old, well not until I look in the mirror.

Carole - thought you'd left:-)) I'm fine but like you busy. The grandkids keep us on our toes:-)) Not complaining of course. I've started doing yoga on Fridays with my daughter. It's lovely and relaxing at the end of the week. I'm surprised at how well I'm doing after a break of a few years.

Hmm - I used to be very good at Yoga - but now I think I would look rather deformed if I tried it.
Hope your daughter's bump stands to attention and passes inspection Linda. My foot behaves like a real heel at times – stings and bothers me from time to time and if I have been sitting in the car – I get out like I am about 93 and hobble for a few paces and then gradually straighten up. Then yesterday himself had left these three brochures (magazine size) on the lounge floor – I came walking around the coffee table – my left (sore foot) hit the brochures slid out – my right leg folded under me banging my knee on the floor and I twisted my arm as I grabbed the wooden rocker on the way down. One of the brochures ended up across the other side of the room. My OH – said oh dear maybe I should get on to age concern and ask about having a safe house. I said maybe he should send me to the safe house. The other day he nearly shut the boot of the car on my head – I was standing right next to him. I have got stitches in my head from the last time when he caught me with the corner of the hatch back on a previous car. I ended up lying on the driveway – with blood running down the back of my head… made me late for work that morning having to go to A & E first. Anyways Linda sorry to remind you that you have a foot – forget all about your feet and you’ll be back to tap dancing in no time.
I was a bit concerned about my youngest (no she is not pregnant) thought she could possibly lose her job as they put 50 off in her department but no she got shifted and offered a permanent job and her title is Digital Experience Designer… My mind came up with all sorts of thoughts on that title – but they are probably best kept to myself.
Allan – I thought the sub had actually keeled over.
Flowery wheelie bins – no – flowery coffins yes… they did look lovely and I can see the idea taking hold here. Funerals don’t have to be a morbid affair – I got them to play Vera Lynn singing “We’ll meet again” at both my parents funerals. My father’s was very amusing as both my OH and my youngest talked about him and all his funny sayings. My eldest granddaughter was about three and she started passing around flowers to everyone during the service. And when our friend who conducted the service said we’ll have a minutes silence my younger granddaughter in her pushchair decided that would be a very good time to blow a raspberry.
I was reading an article Tec and your boys reckon they can beat the All Blacks... just a matter of time and stamina etc. So I will cross my fingers for them –
And CC – this was typed on a word document before putting on GR – I used to do that all the time when I was making up poems for the Panto because the panto could move so fast one had to have ammunition ready to fire at all times.
Good to see you Carole, nothing like a good book to go to bed with - they stay still and don't snore.
~~~~~~~~~~ to everyone else
Oh hi Pat - no it wouldn't be nice if England won the world cup - it would be absolutely blimmin' amazing if NZ or even OZ won it.
Oh and Joan
We never have last words on wheelie bins on this thread. Wheelie Bins are on here forever. MGB's will be asked to pay their membership fee next.
It would be a very grave situation indeed to have to put the Wheelie bins to rest - they are such colourful characters.
Hi Perse, You seem to have gone through the wars with your injuries and none of them are your fault! Foral wheelie bins. That sounds a good idea. I've never tried Yoga either and I don't think I ever will! I'm just going to finish my lunch and then it's back to work!
Good morning/afternoon/evening to all.
It's currently 3.22am here and I can't sleep. Got up because I was thirsty (probably due to the rather over salty meal I had for dinner) and couldn't sleep so thought I'd look in here and see if anyone was around. Alas, no. but no matter.
Allan: Thank you for letting me know that I had replies in TTF. I'm surprised they came so quickly. I'm not sure that the info I've received so far is for the person I'm seeking but I do appreciate the effort that people have made on my behalf. - This particular family was very private and not even their left hand knew what their right was doing most of the time methinks. But I'll keep trying. I'll ask for more information from her grandson and see that will help.
Yoga: something I've never tried but I was a dancer and aerobics was my thing. But that was some time ago and I think that perhaps some of the excesses of the classes I took are re-visiting me in later life. But I still have a good heart recovery rate and blood pressure which is a bonus. Or so my doctor says.
So now will off and do some more checking on my tree etc. Will look in again some time later.
Cheers, Pam.
Perse - You do seem to be very accident prone - I don't know about sending you off to a safe house, but maybe one of those astronauts suits might be the answer, you know, the ones with all the padding, big boots, and a crash helmet with a toughened visa.
Just what does a Digital Experience Designer do?
You are right - funerals are not always sad sombre occassions. I once went to the funeral of a friend who died much too young after a long illness. It was of course sad for those who knew him, There was no religion, it was a "Humanist" service, no hymns, but the music he had chosen was deeply moving. He had written a lengthy description based on his observations of the charactors of his friends and family who he knew would be present. His brother read this during the service. I have never heard such laughter at a funeral. it was certainly different.
CC - I am not really into sweets, or biscuits. Being a Southern Belle, you may well know how to make a decent bread pudding, and I don't mean bread and butter pudding. I could be very tempted by that, and custard of course.
The Duchess has just taken delivery of another batch of books from her book club. I was just reading the titles -
The Poisoning At The Pub. Blood At The Bookies. Death Under The Dryer. The Stabbing At The Stables. The Hanging In The Hotel. The Murder In The Museum. The Torso In The Town. The Body On The Beach. Death On The Downs. The Elixir Of Death. The Tinners Corpse. The Grim Reaper. The Poisoned Challice. The Affair Of The Thirty Nine Cufflinks. " " " " Blood Stained Egg Cosy. " " " " Mutilated Mink.
I do worry about her state of mind sometimes?
Tec.
Hello everyone:-))
Oh dear Persey......OH trying to do away with you?
Tec - I'm a bit concerned about you also. Perhaps the Duchess is trying to find the perfect crime. I love crime stories and my youngest son and my daughter has the same taste. We avidly watch crime shows on telly although I find the forensic ones a bit gruesome.
CC - my little girl is doing fine. She has been for a check-up twice this week and the doctor is happy with her although he wants her to stay on the "puffer" for a while yet. She's such a little trooper and hardly complains.
I watched the Opening Ceremony for the World Cup last night. As expected it was wonderfully colourful. The costumes and music was great. I would love to see England, Australia or New Zealand win but alas – I don’t think so.
I love yoga. I did it for a number of years with my daughter. She did it for awhile when she was pregnant with her first baby but when she gave it away I didn’t continue. She is very good at yoga and goes two nights a week. The first class is much more advanced and goes for longer so that suits her but Friday night is gentler and more relaxing as we also meditate. Last night we learnt some new poses and I surprised myself by being able to attempt most of them.
Good morning to Persey, Pam, Carole Sue and Joan
Good evening to CC, Linda, Pat and Tec
The gang's all here :0))
I have a long and busy day ahead of me today, which makes a change :0))
I tried Yoga once but didn't like the taste. Mind you it was a plain one, not flavoured!
