Good morning to all. Hope everyone is well.

Have just watched the England football game and it was very disappointing:-(

I have a busyish day today. I've decided to spend a good part of the day dividing some bromeliads, potting some bulbs and generally tidying up some pot plants. I really need to get rid of some who have seen better days. I cut the plants back hoping they would come back up but I think they are a lost cause. I've been so busy lately and the garden is showing the neglect. It's a shame mum's away as I usually bring her over to help. I don't really need it but mum is a very enthusiastic gardener and she loves helping with pot plants.

CC - it's always exciting to make contact with a new family member. I've recently had contact with a cousin. It's funny because my dear cousin in England sent me photos of the family including this new cousin’s parent’s wedding and her christening. He is very forgetful and neglected to tell me that they know each other well. It was only by chance that my cousin mentioned me and my new cousin decided to get in contact. I’ve been able to fill in some gaps in her research and she has told me some family stories that are funny, sad but always interesting.

Persey I hope you have a lovely day with your grandson. It sounds like a wonderful place to take a nine year old. .

Good morning/evening to all

I took advantage of fmp's free 90 minute search yesterday and was very disappointed. I'm trying to find out who was living at an address in Manchester to try and help me identify my maternal grandfather.

No joy! I couldn't even locate the property, although given the time limit and the fact that it was the first time on the site, that could be down to me.

I also thought that I would do a quick check on my Great Uncle who was killed in the first world war. Entered his name, three records came up, none of them related to him!

Still, I do have he offer of a free two weeks subscription with the site which I may take up. Also the same deal with Ancestry. I may try both just to compare them.

Foggy first thing this morning but it makes a change from the rain :0))

I trust that evryone is well?

Hello, Allan - a windy, sunny day here by the looks of it.

Have you had a look at the Commonwealth War Graves site? It sometimes gives the name of the spouse and even an address. And you can print off the certificate. Ah - these elusive ancestors.

Here's the website Allan - www.cwgc.org

Good morning Sue

I'm sorry I should have mentioned that I have already got the details of my Grt Uncle from the CWGC site, plus a listing of his medals off Ancestry, which is why I was disappointed that I couldn't find him on FMP

I have been bust sorting out some large planters today as well sue. The plants in them were past their best,so I emptied the whole lot out and started from scratch. They were very heavy, OH helped at first, but wandered off, leaving me to it

Hi, Linda. I have a couple of shady spots that need a bit of greenery so I thought I would put some nice ferns into a couple of big pots and see how they go. Mum gave me two nice big terracotta pots and they'll look good full of ferns.

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,

I have returned to torment you all with more inane remarks.

I'm growing my hair, and stopped shaving in readiness for the Glastonbury Music Festival. The Duchess and I have bought new wellies with flowers on them in case it's wet and muddy. We also have a new two person tent.
Looking forward to a good old rave.

Tec.

Oh Tec - it's soooo good to see you:-)) You have made my day.

Wellies with flowers on them? Long hair and unshaven? That's how I've always imagined you and the Duchess. You hippies:-))

SueMaid Report 18 Jun 2010 23:12

Well Tec - a pashmina is a very soft cashmere? shawl much loved by ladies. Chocolate is the colour not the flavour:-))

Linda - I can just see Tec and his lady at the festival in their posh hippie clothes residing in their posh tent with all their staff (us) in attendance:-)))

Tecwyn Report 18 Jun 2010 23:18

Thankyou ladies for explaining a chocolate pashmina, I am disappointed, though it was some kind of fancy chocolate pudding - a shawl - why don't they just call it a shawl?

Good Evening CC
