Hello Allan - of course you would've watched the Aussie football game?

Nope, I can't understand anything Allan has written, it appears to be gibberish, but come to think of it, it usually is

Linda's village is a well known haven for rich retirees so I can imagine that the house is much bigger than Linda would have us believe:-)) Not like my little 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom hovel.

Allan Report 23 Jun 2010 23:17

No Sue I didn't watch the soccer.

I thought that if Australis qualified it would be all over the papers and Aussie websites and if they didn't that there would be a deathly silence.

Nope! Still can't hear a thing :0))

Now all we need to do is get Wimbledon out of the way!!

Sue, that is Tec's village you are getting me confused with, his neighbours are all millionaires

Hello again, all. I finally went back to bed at 3.30am and got to sleep. Feel a bit better this morning. Will go and do my exercises and heat massage in an hour or so and hopefully will feel like a new person. Yes, keep the knowledge I have now but I think I would prefer to be in my 30’s, not 21 again.

Yep, Wimbledon is coming soon. To TV that is. But it’s the British Open Golf that I’m looking forward to. That’s when I get to sit up in the cold wrapped up in a blanket sitting in my easy chair in the middle of the night with a cup of hot chocolate and quietly watch the golf. Ahhh, love it. Brit Open starts 15th July. At least we don't get 'Tigered out' during that one. Then there'll be the US Masters to finish it all off until the golf starts here in Aust.

By the looks of the time on the last post here there won't be anyone present as it's telling me it's around 11.30pm in London. Never mind. I"ll just keep popping by every now and again to see if anyone's here.

It happened again! I took so long to read the posts that when I got to the last ones, they were saying goodnight!
I haven't been watching the soccer - one reason is because of the time, but also because I'm afraid I don't have the confidence. I support them fully, and I know they do their best, but as was said in an earlier post, the other codes seem to be able to 'buy' the good players and I can't see our soccer team being triumphant until there is more of that. I feel sorry for them and don't like to see them lose.

Good morning Pam and Berona

I'm still here:-( Pam I noticed that you were on very early this morning. Were you feeling down? Pain can really drag you down. I'm lucky - I get some arthritic ache in my hands in the cold weather but that can be easily dealt with with heat. Torn ligaments are no joke.

Hello Berona - hope you are well this morning. Did you much rain yesterday. It poured yesterday afternoon.

Good morning to you Allan. Maybe you can explain to me, because I haven't been paying much attention for the past couple of months. I can understand the opposition wanting to sack the PM, but why is his own party wanting to replace him?

Berona

Berona Report 23 Jun 2010 23:49

No Sue, we didn't get much rain. Only one or two more showers after the early morning one yesterday.
To-day is dry but outside is all wet, so I would say we've had some rain overnight and it's still overcast.

Allan

Allan Report 23 Jun 2010 23:49

Berona, it's because of his plummenting ratings in the polls and his many back-flips on various policies and schemes such as the emission trading scheme and the home insulation fiasco.

Now his introduction of the proposed mining Super Tax with no prior discussion with the industry.

His own party see him as a liability.

Allan

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 23 Jun 2010 23:51

My take on it is that the party has lost confidence in their leader and don't agree with the decisions he has made. I agree with Allan's opinion.

Berona Report 24 Jun 2010 00:28

Aha. I'm not as ignorant as I thought I was. I knew about the insulation business and I'm glad I used a company which was recommended by the batts manufacturer. They even sent me a letter only recently, assuring me that my insullation was carried out by trained installers - and yes, I couldn't miss the one on the mining industry. I have already been impressed by the amount of TV advertising on the subject - sponsored by the mining industry. This past week there seems to be something on every 'commercial break'.
How ironic is it that last night I saw a preview of a new show about the replacement of Hawke by Keating!

Pamela

Sue, I was on earlier this morning. Seems like around 3am I get a 'cold shoulder', literally, not figuratively (lol) and the pain starts. So, I get up, make a cup of tea and take 2 Panamax and wait for the pain to subside then go back to bed. Ideal time to catch up on the posts here. And your are right. Arthritis is one thing but torn ligaments a lot more painful.

However, I'm not able to take some of the medication I take for another problem I have and that's giving me a bit of stick, too. I have to stay off that medication until I have a special test next Monday. Such a drag. Never mind, I'm still able to wait it out.
