Well congratulations to the new Aunts and uncles. The baby arrived at 6.51pm weighing 6lbs 7 oz which is very good to say she was only 36 weeks. We were waiting outside the ward when she was born and got to see her when she was an hour old. There was a delay because unfortunately my daughter had a haemorrhage about half an hour after the birth. That caused a huge flurry of activity, but mercifully she was fine
We spent a few hours with them and i got lots of holds of the baby, we have now come back to the house and left them at the hospital. It will be about midnight before they are moved up to the ward assuming by daughters observations continue to be good.

LOL.......Sue just explain to your bemused son that there's a weird Welshman 12,000 miles away encouraging you to be daft.

We're all nutters in Wales, it's the mountain air :)))

In two weeks this thread has been going for a year. Haven't we seen each other through a lot in that time. We've lost people but happily we have gained a new little one. Such is life.

They haven't decided on a name yet, they had a short-list which they were going to whittle down, but the early arrival caught them out

Thanks, Linda and congratulations to your daughter.

Sue, I'm a pragmatist, and a male, I don't wish to know all those gory details which women revel in at these times: I just want to know if anyone got the weight right! :0))

It takes me back to when I was working. If any of the staff were pregnant we wouls actually run a book on the birth weight. Apart from a small prize for the winner, or closest, the rest of the money raised went on buying a present for the baby and flowers for the mum!

Thank you all for your congratulations, I am really tired,so am off to bed now. If all goes well, my daughter may come out tomorrow. They were talking at first about giving her a blood transfusion, but she seemed fine, so hopefully they won't need to and she can come home to get some sleep. Poor thing looked desperately tired as she has been in hospital since Sunday night and hasn't slept.
