Hello Moriate - or is that Moriarty?
I was once a Sea-Goon actually.
CC..You would look sensational in ice white, a lovely big red hat, with a feather in it, red shoes, matching handbag
Tec.

Ah well!
As we are now into culture and inspiration:
They said that it could not be done, he said just let me try. They said, "Other men have tried and failed," and he answered, "But not I." They said, "It is impossible," he said, "There is no such word." He closed his mind, he closed his heart to everything he heard.
He said, "Within the heart of man, there is a tiny seed. It grows until it blossoms, it's called the will to succeed. Its roots are strength, its stem is hope, its petals inspiration, Its thorns protect its strong green leaves, its grim determination.
"Its stamens are its skills which help to shape each plan, For there's nothing in the universe beyond the scope of man." They thought that it could not be done, some even said they knew it, But he faced up to what could not be done, and he couldn't bl**dy do it!

Nobody here again? Oh well - I'll talk to myself. No, I didn't rush to get out of bed this morning. Our pre-dawn temperature was 2, so I stayed snuggled up, then when I did look in here - everyone had gone, so I spent close to an hour reading the posts. My goodness; some people can talk!
I was already a couple of hours later than usual, then by the time I finished reading (while I ate my breakfast) it was then closer to lunch time and breakfast! Now, the day has gone and I don't know where it went. (I'm sure Allan can make something of that!).
I'm going to study the instructions for the heater. I know I can set it to come on at a given time. If I do that, it won't be so hard to get up. Tomorrow's early temp is going to be much better - 4!...so I might be talking to you earlier - all I need to do is wake up. I have got into the habit of sleeping late and nothing wakes me now.

I also cannot follow the conversation earlier. Hello Berona... but you might have gone by now. I was about to reply when my computer shut down unexpectedly. It does this too often, but only when it is on charge (mains power). Obviously something wrong, but I haven't had time to get it back to the supplier. You are sounding a bit better recently, so it seems the pain is slowly going. Speaking of Wales (which we weren't but we will), this evening I watched a program on the very old road - 1679? - from Chester to Holywell via all the castles. Conwy was mentioned. The presenter was Terry Jones, the Welshman and former Python no less. I agree with Berona also that it is cold. Maybe not the sub zero temperatures other places get, but I have even heard British immigrants complain about the cold. I don't think they were just whinging about the weather. Not being like CC I usually go to bed earlier, and even if it's Saturday tomorrow I have to work, so good night all.

Good morning/evening everyone - are you all well?
I won't be on this morning. We have our major fund-raising luncheon tomorrow (Sunday) and today we need to set up the room and other jobs before the big day. We have a very posh venue, with a formal 3 course luncheon for 320 people. There is entertainment, auctions, prizes and of course a boring speech from me:-)) All up we expect to make $130,000 so it's worth the hard work that the "Banquet" committee do.
Behave yourselves because I will check up on you:-))

Sue, what a contradiction in terms! You come on the computer to tell us that you won't be on the computer!! :0))
It is just climbing from 0c here, and like the Trolls on Discworld my brain is feeling sharper, which could account for my cutting headache!
To those who couldn't follow yesterday's erudite posts all I can say is E=mc²

C2H5OH = a hangover
Good Morning Sue, Good Morning Allan,
Sue, Allan has volunteered to iron all the tablecloths, and CC is offering to do the cooking - I'm taking care of the bar :))
Allan, Have you got your Long Johns on this morning? that sounds pretty nippy to me.
CC......Your day sounds very confused, most of my days are confused also, mostly I don't know what day it is - but does it matter?
Colin....Talking of Welsh castles, 30 tourists were trapped for three hours yesterday in a castle when the Draw Bridge mechanism broke down. They were eventually rescued by the Fire Service. The Welsh built castles to keep the English out, and the English built more castles to keep Welsh out - now the Welsh charge all nationalities to view them.

Good evening Tec.
No Long Johns just yet but it is decidedly becoming that way.
I hope that we don't have a frost as the peas and beans are in flower. I must put some mulch (straw) around them!

Hello all, It does seem that no one is in. But then, it is 8.25am Saturday and for those who aren't out mowing the grass they're probably on the way to go shopping.
I really detest shopping on a Saturday. I think it's because there are so many 'browsers' clogging up the aisles. Mind you, I detest shopping at any time. Beats me how some people say it's recreational. I even hate clothes shopping. All that trying on of clothes and you can bet the clutch of stuff you take into the change room are Asian sizings and not Australian. Quite often if I do see something that catches my eye, I'll just hold it up to me at the strategic spots and close enough is good enough.
Linda, thank you for the photo of the babe. When you first said she's beautiful I though, with a smile, typical grandma. But now I see the photo and indeed she is beautiful. Doesn't look at all prem, does she?

Hi Tec. You snuck in whilst I was typing the message before.
I saw that programme on TV too and found it fascinating.
Fancy having to walk 9 miles across the sand whilst the tide was out (for only 5 hours!!) in order to reach the point and the ferry. And they reckon they used to take an army across there? I'll bet a lot of them drowned in all that heavy armour and stuff they used to wear.

Hi Allan, It sounds so odd to me that you have peas and beans in flower in your winter and at such low temperatures.
I've been rigging up the solar panel that will power the water fountain in the garden. Guaranteed that the sun will never shine again. The instructions are printed in China. Claims that the fountain will have a 500 metre water lift - I can hardly wait for such a gusher LOL. In reality the fountain will achieve a max of 1.2 mtrs.

Tec, don't you find it frustrating that they don't vet these instructions from Asia to make sure that we can understand them?
I was always having trouble with the Indians and Malaysian call centres that seem to be the only people these days who can be employed in the customer service industry. But I've found a solution. Now, when I get that distinctive accent I just ask them to speak slowly because I'm an older lady and I'm deaf. It works.
haha

Hi Pam
Tec that's just the way it is. We even have some tomato plants growing but they have no flowers as yet.
We have already had a couple of meals from our silver beet and broccoli
