Good Morning Pam,

Yes, I do find the Chinese printed instructions frustrating - often making no sense - surely it wouldn't be too difficult to get it checked as correct before it goes into print.
I only ever once phoned my ISP technical dept for advice. It was a call centre in India - I really could not understand them, and I am not unfamiliar with Asian accents having been responsible for an Asian crew on board ship at one time, never had a problem then. After an hour on the phone I gave up, having lost the will to live. Never again.

A strange time for me to be posting - but I'm going to bed early to see if I can wake up earlier than I have been doing.
I've missed talking to you all.

I always know what day it is. I only have to look down at the bottom right hand corner of my screen where the time is. I also have a diary permanently open on my desk - this tells me what day it is and whether I have an appointment to-day or not and what bill is to be paid to-day. (Without all of this help, I would be totally lost - and in trouble!).

Hello Berona,

I'm in fact going to bed later at night so that I can sleep all night and not be wide awake at 3am.

I, too, take great note of the day and time at the bottom of my screen. But I suppose if it wasn't there, there's always my mobile phone to check up with. Mobile phone currently says it's 9.49pm but computer says it's 10.05pm. Never mind, close enough.

I have one of those calendars on my desk that has a square for each day of the month and I use that for making appointments and such. But them, sometimes I forget to copy them into the appointment diary I carry in my handbag, or I make an appointment when I'm out and forget to carry it forward onto my desk calendar. I've made a few mistakes that way but I am getting better.

I find when I'm working I'm much better at keeping these things up to date but when I'm not working I tend to get slack. Back to work on Tuesday so I'll get more efficient, I hope.

Hello everyone!!! I've popped in again to say I won't be popping in:-)) Our big luncheon today. We worked hard yesterday to make sure everything looks just right. All the cutlery is in the right place, the glasses are gleaming and we covered the chairs with white linen then tied big bows on the back of the chairs. Very posh:-) So I thought for the christening I could be in charge of setting up the room. Perhaps we could hire a chef to prepare the food and staff to wait on the table? I have my outfit all ready and I must say I look very elegant. I hope you lot don't show me up:-)

Have a good evening/day and I'll catch up with you all later.

Hello to all

CC, wasn't that theorem first postulated by Sitting Bull?

The son of the squaw on the Hippopotamus hide was equal to the sons of the squaws on the other two hides.

And don't worry if you can't hire a charbanc (what a quaint old fashioned word) I'll line up a few wheelie bins!

Good Evening CC,
Good Morning Sue, and Allan,

Sue that all sounds frightfully posh. I hope everything goes well, and that you have a wonderful day, and raise lots of funds.

Allan - You've lost me?

CC..... I don't know what all the wars were about in those days. Land grabbing mostly. The Welsh were never actually conquered as a nation, just pockets changing hands from time to time. The Welsh Princes were a force to be reckoned with.

The only theorem I can remember is 'the angle at the base of an isosceles triangle is equal to the sum of the two interior opposite angles'.
Isn't that great? I finished school in 1946 and I can remember that, even though I have NEVER needed it in the sixty four years since! I'm glad I can remember it though, because I just MIGHT need it some day.

Hello all,

haha, Berona, I like that. I could never figure out what we needed to know it for anyway and what sort of job would you be doing where you would need it? Still in the dark.

Now, CC, if Sue provides the wine of course it will be a premium Aussie drop possibly from the Barossa Valley, or maybe Allan would be kind enough to bring the reds from the Margaret River region. Now, wouldn't that be a party and a half.

I rarely drink wine these days but friends of our came up yesterday to get some bird food because they'd run out and couldn't find anyone to supply them (another story there). They bought me a lovely bottle of Stonyfell Cabernet Sauvignon 2009. Wow. I'll have to make sure I'm in the right place and frame of mind when I open that one. Love red wine especially merlots.

OK I"ve checked my wardrobe and found that my initial outfit for the christening may be a little chilly. Seeing as that it's 20c here today and I have 2 sweaters on. So I'll just have to wear the boots with the 3/4 pants and t shirt and jacket. Then the Akubra won't look out of place at all.

Sorry not been around but been selling and buying and packing and horrid stressful stuff like that! Move on Tuesday so am catching up with everything before I go off line for a while!

Hellooooo Sally:-)) How are you? Busy busy by the sounds of it. You'll be glad when your settled. I get scared at the thought of moving - so much accumulated stuff.

We had the best day today. A formal luncheon for 320 people, lots of auctions etc and we raised an estimated $175,000 - probably a little more. A lot of hard work but it was worth it.

Pam - I'm not sure about your outfit. Your suggestion on the wines sounds good. A nice crisp white wine would be nice too and bubbly to toast the new baby. Round tables of course with white damask tablecloths and serviettes - as suggested by CC. The silver has been polished and the crystal glassware is ready to go. All we need now if for Linda to let us know when and where.

It is wonderful Sally - I'm so proud of my people. They have worked so hard and I was bursting with pride when I made a speech.

Will you still be in the Sydney area or are you making a sea or tree change?

Good morning everyone. we came back home last night because my daughter and the baby are back in hospital for a while. They only managed one night at home before they had to go back in.

Although she was a good weight, she was premature, so her liver is immature and she is jaundiced. That is making her sleepy,so she won't feed properly and is ls losing too much weight. She has been on a blue light bed for the last two days, complete with little goggles and the jaundice levels are much better, now below the level at which they have to treat it. My daughter is expressing milk and it is being topped up with bottle milk, so she is gaining weight again. They are going to try to get her feeding properly again today.

I am in contact with my daughter as she has her mobile with her,so that is fine.

I hate to tell you, but my daughter was never christened and although her partner was, an adult, he is a humanist,so I don't think there will be a christening. They may have a naming party, I think that is the modern way, not that the poor thing has a name yet. They are 96% certain of one first name, I hope they do go for that one because the alternative doesn't bear thinking about. They are still trying to sort out a middle name though.

SueMaid Report 4 Jul 2010 12:04

Hello Linda:-)) My daughter's oldest boy was jaundiced and they had to go back into hospital after a couple of nights. A couple of days under the light and all was well. He started putting on weight and never looked back.

No christening? That's ok. We'll just have a party to wet her little head. We'll make it a posh do for a beautiful little girl and we won't show you up - really we won't:-))

Berona Report 4 Jul 2010 12:29

Sue - I'm so glad you had a success with the luncheon. When you put so much of your time and effort into something like that, it's good when all goes well and the weather behaves, etc. It's so disappointing if it doesn't

Linda - No problem if no christening. Isn't 'wetting the baby's head' the layman's way? We can still have our party. Tec can be barman, Allan will be the maid with the hairy legs and the rest of us will all be dressed in our best!
Of course, I'm assuming that you are inviting me. After all YOU DIDN'T SEND ME A PHOTO!!!!
I know you have been busy - YOU JUST FORGOT TO SEND ME A PHOTO!!!

Hi everyone,
Linda congratulations on the grand daughter. Sorry the she isn't very well but like CC said she's in the best place.
I've finished reading the Twilight books. I don't think I'll go and see the films.
