CC, we had a gruop of Bikers in Dardanup. They wanted to build a 'Bike salesroom and repair Shop.

We all knew that it was to be a new headquarters for a group who had split from the Bunbury Chapter.

We lived if fear and dread of what was going to happen, as did their future neighbours.

One they started building, every time we asked them to modify anything, it was done no questions or arguments. Once completed, it was the only building in the area to fully comply with all council rules.

And as for the neighbours, they absolutely loved the guys. All vandalism in the area ceased and any loud music played by the bikers would cease bang on midnight, and that was after the bikers advised their neighbours that they would be having rock evenings.

Only once did I have to deal with a noise complaint about their premises. I was told by them that they were aware of the problem and that it had been caused by a couple of Bikers from Perth.

The reaction of the local bikers: "Don't worry it wont happen again, and the lads concerned were recovering nicely!!"

No one has been here today, poor thread.

I have had a busy day. before we left their were just a few ripe Raspberries on the allotment, yesterday there were loads of them. I picked lots last night and the rest this morning, I have made lots of jam tonight. There will be loads more ripening over the next few days. The Blackcurrants are just about ready as well, so I will be making jam in my sleep I think.

Just fora bit of variety we went and collected two loads of manure and filled the muck heap up,so that it can rot down for the autumn. I have such an exciting life

Why are we floundering on page 3?
Where have you all gone?

Why wasn't I invited?

Well that's two of us that have an exciting life then.

I spent the morning tidying up my front garden, that involved climbing up a palm tree to pull off dead leaves.

This afternoon I sat and composed a stiff letter to the County Council, and the Welsh Assembly regarding the proposed closure of our village school. Among other things this will involve transporting 4 and 5 yr olds ten miles by bus every day, with no escort on the bus except the driver, on very dangerous narrow winding coastal roads.
So I gave them a lecture, according to the thoughts of Chairman Tec.

Good morning my friends.

You have been busy. Not much doing in my garden at the moment. Can't wait til spring when everything comes alive. I've noticed my potted orchids are sending up little flower shoots so I expect in a few weeks they will be in bloom and I have some tulip bulbs sprouting too. At least I think they're tulips - I found them already spouting in a pot in the shed:-))

As it's school holidays here we'll be having our grandson for the day today. Grandad is driving the volunteer bus again today so I'm going to take our boy to see Toy Story 3. He'll love it. Then lunch I think. He's a lovely, happy little boy and great company. He's developing a very quirky sense of humour so I think I'm going to enjoy myself today.

Hello to Diane - hope you have a great holiday:-))

Tec - I can see the need to write a letter re the closing of the school. What do bureaucracy care about the needs of small children. I hope everyone gets behind this cause. Winter travel to a school out of the area doesn't bear thinking about.

Hello all, Allan, Civil Disobedience?? Australia????? Never !!!!!!!!

and as for gnome and away. Give me a break. My cousin's son was on that programme for many years (Sam, for those who are interested) and was also on Bondi Rescue (Whippet) but now has a 'real' job. He works for the council as a life saver at Tamarama Beach, just down the coast from Bondi.

Must say the years on Home and Away set him up for life.

Good Evening Linda and Tec

Good morning Sue.

Well I've not been busy in the garden, but I have been busy in my office trying to get my accounts sorted out for the Taxman or, rather, for my accountant so that he can do the deed for me.

Sue, your day today souns great.

Linda you seem to be in a jam: just don't get into a pickle :0))

Are you sure that climbing a tree is a good idea Tec? Couldn't you get your gardener Mellors to do it?

It sounds as if you are going to have a lovely day Sue.

Hello Pam and Allan.

Allan - we're getting sorted for the taxman too. A lot different now that OH has retired. Not sure what happens but we'll soon find out:-))

Pam - I haven't watched Home and Away since my lot were at home. My daughter's partner's cousin (???) was also in H & A years ago - can't remember his character's name. He is no longer in telly but is now an author. His sister is a local newsreader on the telly.

Just looked it up, Pam. Tristan Banks played Tug O'Neill.

Good morning Pam

Wow! a star in our midst, or at the very least a star by association :0))

The civil disobedience arose from the Council deciding to build a rounabout in the middle of nowhere just so that two roads could actually have a physical point of beginning (or end if you were travelling in the opposite direction.

The two roads were called respectively Upper Ferguson Road and Lower Ferguson Road, and by some quaint logic the firat named road ran alongside the River Ferguson whilst the latter ran above it, thus causing much confusion with visitors.

The roundabout was a huge affair and after building it, the Council simpy changed the name of the roads thus getting rid of the original confusion.

The locals said that a bunch od Garden Gnomes could make better decisions than Council and overnight the first gnomes appeared, all ten of them sat round a replica of the council table!

Then certain gnomes appeared to represent staff members, and it grew from there :0))

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,

Hi Sue, Pam, Linda, Allan,

Sue, The County Council want to close lots of village schools, and build a big new one miles away. Busing the children from the villages daily. Our village school functions very well, and achieves consistantly high standards. If it ain't broke, why fix it?

Linda, Mellors has become increasingly cantankerous, and refuses to climb trees. I have tried persuasion with a pitchfork, but to no avail.

Pam - I think Tristan was probably in the series in the early '90's - not sure. They could possibly know each other. I haven't met him as he lives on the north coast - possibly Byron Bay - again I'm not sure.

Tec - bureacracy plays some silly games at times. Just read Allan's post:-))

:-))) Allan - Tec I didn't mean that post.

Hello Tec, I know, it's really sad when all these cost cutting measures result in taking away basic needs of a community. Mind you, it never seems to occur to these people to maybe take a small cut in their expense allowances in order to allow the funding of something necessary to the community.

I noticed this morning on nineMSN that the question on which people were being asked to vote as to whether our new PM, Julia Gillard, should have a clothing allowance. My first thought was, did any of the male PM's get a clothing allowance? If yes, then sure; give it to her. If not, no way.

Besides, no amount of clothing allowance will give her a sense of what suits her. Her choice of clothing is usually masculine or downright dowdy. I mean, for goodness sakes, a shiny fabric brocade-looking floral 3/4 length coat with super wide white lapels over black pants?? May have worked if the TV cameras were only going to be shooting a head and shoulders shot. But lets face it, those cameramen can be cruel when they want to be and they took film of her walking toward and away from the camera full length. Not good.
