LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 Jul 2010 23:18

I don't fancy eating fingers Sue.

I am not visiting my daughter, they are too tired for visitors, this trip was arranged before the baby decided to put in an early appearance. I did see the baby tonight on a Skype video call,she waved at me, well OK, my daughter made her wave at me.

Good morning/ evening to all

Linda, a masive thanks for your email. I can now start sending off for the death certs, starting with the most likely candidates. I have already sent off for baby Annies Birth and DeathnCertificates to see if there are any clues.

CC many thanks for your emails, I haven't yet opened them.

The reason I am on late thismorning is that a massive storm front moved through during lasty evening and last night. Very strong winds and over an inch of rain, plus the obligatory thunderstorm.

However the storm was not as severe as the one that hit Perth last March and caused so much damage. Although many houses damaged in March are still waiting to be repaired so may have suffered further damage.

There was a thunderstorm at 4.30 am and more are forecast so if I suddenly lose contact, I've been round unplugging everything.

Linda enjoy your time away.

Good morning to Sue, and good evening to Tec

You're silly, Linda:-))

CC - we can celebrate our anniversary and toast our Eve's health. As usual Tec can be in charge of the bar - he does such a good job. Our best linen, crystal and silver of course.

Good Morning Allan,
Sounds like you are having some very nasty weather, I hope everything is ok for you and that you don't have any damage, or water leaks.

We have had a lot of rain over the last few days, and over an inch one day last week, but some area haven't had any - Linda thinks I'm hogging it all.

CC.......No, I was never an Elvis fan.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 Jul 2010 23:37

You are hogging it Tec, you must be, my poor allotment is bone dry. I picked more fruit today and made even more jam. there is sti l so much more ripening every day. Perhaps I should open a market stall.

I need to turn in now, i will look in in the morning, but if I don't catch you again, have a good weekend.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 8 Jul 2010 23:39

Goodnight Linda, I'll send some water up to the allotment while you're away, - enjoy your break.
sleep well,
Tec.

Allan Report 8 Jul 2010 23:48

Good night Linda, and enjoy your sojourn.

Tec, unfortunately a couple of our windows do leak but only when the wind is strong enough to blow the rain horizontally onto them. Normal vertical rain without the wind, even if the rainfall is very heay, does not have any effect.

Trying to get them repaired will be a problem as they are in the top floor area and wlll need scaffolding to get to them. Occupational health and Safety require this for all buildings other than single storey.

It will have to be done though as we are thinking of posibly moving into a unit.

Linda - have a great holiday break. Sleep tight.

Allan - you'll miss your garden or are you hoping to have a small courtyard garden. Friends of ours have moved into a one story townhouse with a small courtyard at the back and a nice garden at the front. As they both have back problems they are finding it so much easier while still enjoying the garden.

Tecwyn Report 9 Jul 2010 00:03

I hate leaks Allan - we occasionally get water down a chimney on the top floor of this house, but like you, only when the wind is in a certain direction. I have had so many people up there, but to no avail. I've had the lead flashing replaced, the chimney re-pointed, all sorts of things.
Now we just live with it. Very annoying.

Well I must be away to my bed.
Enjoy your day Sue, and Allan, and Berona,
Try to get a good night CC,
~~~~~~~to Diane,
Goodnight,
Tec.
Goodnight Tec - sleep well.
I must be off too - I must get some h****w**k done:-))
Good night CC - and Diane if you're looking in.
~~~~~~~~to Carole, Berona and Pam.

Enjoy your day Allan - I'm just watching the news about the storms in Perth and they've mentioned the bad weather in Bunbury and Kalgoorlie. Take care.

I am just popping in to say goodbye. I will be back, but given the quip I made in an email reply to Sue, I doubt that she will ever speak to me again. See you for the anniversary bash.

Another disappointing day - very dull, nearly dark, and raining on and off all day. We've had the lights on most of the day.
I knew as soon as I put the solar panel in the garden to power the water feature, that the sun would disappear. I think someone up above has a sense of humour "You wanted a water feature?" Splash - "How's that for a water feature?" mind the puddles.

But I did get around to catching up with some odd jobs indoors that I've been running past for weeks. That will earn me Brownie points with the herself.

Tec.

Good Evening CC.........

I am deeply saddened to see what happened to Izzy's son. God help him, and all of them out there.

I don't like garden gnomes,and have never owned one.

We have about two weeks left of civilised shopping here, then once the school holidays start, all h*ll will break loose as the world and his wife descend on the area. Most of us retreat to our caves in the hills, while the visitors fight over parking spaces in the town. They seem to bring their city aggression with them, while the locals look on aghast. Driving is very dodgy, because we only have narrow lanes, and the visitors find the stone walls on either side intimidating, so tend to drive in the middle of the road.
Given that we are fortunate to live here all year round, it is good that they want to come to enjoy the scenery with us, and the local economy depends on the visitors - without them, half of the shops we do have would close down.

Tecwyn Report 9 Jul 2010 20:29

We are ok thanks CC.

I had to stop and think what we had for dinner, which was all of two hours ago = actually it was a shop bought steak pie (disgusting) and we had vegetables with it, no potatoes.

No wonder I couldn't remember.
