Hello Tec,

Glad I popped back in and saw you there. I was about to go back to bed.

Yes, our water pipe is up and working but not all underground as yet. Mechanical problems with the tractor.

I just can't imagine anyone wanting to keep a cane toad as a pet. They have to be one of the ugliest of God's creations. Even snakes won't eat them, they're so bad. I once rescued a Tawny Frog Mouth Owl that had eaten a cane toad. Poor thing. It was just sitting in the middle of the road and no one could work out what was wrong with it. One feral idiot just wanted to kill it because it did look very sick. But I got it to the wildlife rescue people and it was eventually discovered that it had this cane toad stuck in it's throat. Cane toads have poison sacs on either side of their mouth that can kill some other creatures like owls and also dogs and cats.

It's interesting, isn't it, how so many of us are freezing at 18c and yet others think it's quite warm?

Well, I am going to go back to bed and try to get some more sleep. It'll be a hectic day today.

Cheers,
Pam.

Good Evening CC,

It's been a very dull overcast day again, showers on and off, and very humid.
I like to find frogs and toads in the garden because I believe they help to keep the slugs down a bit. I had a flowerpot saucer that had become full of rainwater in the front garden, one morning it was piled high with frogs spawn, poor frog couldn't find anywhere better.

The cursor on this site is being very strange, keeps disappearing, so I have to guess where it is - most annoying.

Good evening CC and Tec

The weather is weird here at the moment. It is 16c outside with a top forecast of 17c. There are strong winds and Thunder storms are forecast for later! very topsy-turvy

Tec, my cursor has a bad case of the jitters at the moment!

Good Morning Allan,

Sounds like you have some disturbed weather patterns - does your prevailing wind come off the Indian Ocean, from the West?

We mostly get Sou/Westerly winds in from the Atlantic and Irish Sea.

My apologies Tec, OH came down and wanted to find an article that she was interested in. I had to help her find it

Allan,
I just bet it was something you had put away, or were accused of interferring with - it usually is here lol,

Tec.

Allan

Yep, and it was my fault that it couldn't be found!

I expect Allan that you have the same mischievous fairies about your house that I do here.

Conversation as follows -

"What have you done with my xxxxx"

"I haven't done anything with it - I haven't seen it" " You must have done "

"I haven't"

"Oh well - it must be the fairies again"

Allan

Allan Report 10 Jul 2010 23:27

Tec, I can't even claim that it was the fairies. I'm guilty until proven innocent!!

Oh stop it you silly men:-)) Full of self-pity. I'll put my OH on and he can join in the "poor me" saga.

I found it very hard to get on the site this morning and almost gave up.

Frogs in the garden means a healthy environment. After a lot of rain we get lovely little green frogs. As we have a small creek nearby we have even had the occasional turtle turn up. When the children were young they found a turtle over the back from us and wanted to keep it. We made a big ceremony of taking it home to the creek and then sat and ate crisps and drank lemonade. Ah....those were the days:-))

Enough to drive a man to drink Allan,

it's a dogs life really,

actually - I'm hoping to come back as a labrador,

patted and pampered,

loll about from meal to meal,

frequent outings,

and no responsibilities - a great life.

Good morning Sue

Self-pity indeed!! My OH just can't accept the fact that she is not the Pope and is sometimes fallible :0))

The only thing that we fished out of a creek opposite to one house that we had in England was my son! One moment on top of the bank just resting on his bike, next thing he disappeared. Fortunately the only thing dented was his dignity. He was about four at the time!

I think that I would choose to be a cat, Tec, especially if I could find a house like ours. The three cats live the life of Riley.

Good Morning Sue,

I'm sure your OH would have his own tales of woe, poor guy.

The site is being particularly stupid at the moment Sue, almost impossible to type anything, and I've been kicked off three times in an hour.

CC is missing - I do hope her gnomes haven't turned nasty and taken her prisoner! - poor gnomes.

Where's the violin - let's play a sad tune:-))

I won't claim to be a domestic slave because my OH has always helped around the house and with the children. He cooks more often than I do which suits me fine but he's well looked after.......and he knows it:-))

Good morning/evening everyone. Overcast with forecast for rain and a max of 18 to-day. We might get the temperature, but I doubt we'll get rain.

I'm waking earlier but it's not easy to get out of bed these days - specially when I don't HAVE to get out of it! I'm making the most of my retirement!

Allan Report 10 Jul 2010 23:55

The violin is broken, Sue, too much use :0))
