Just popping in before having an early night. If I go to sleep early, maybe I'll wake early. Although still too cold for me in the early morning and at night, we reached 20 here to-day. That's weird for mid-winter!
Here's hoping I will be around early enough to have a good conversation with you all.

Good Everything to Everybody,

Found thread floundering on page three - where have you all gone without me?

What a horrid day it's been here - cold, wet and windy, and very dark.

We were to have had roast lamb for dinner, but as it was like winter I decided to make a stew in the slow cooker. Threw in stewing beef from the freezer, carrots, onion etc, and a handful of pearl barley. Very nice.

Good morng/evening

Good evening, CC and Tec

CC when your OH bought his previous comp did he not get the Widows XP CD with it? I know the program is already loaded but he should still have been given the disc in case any drivers etc had to be loaded/reloaded.

I know that when I got this system, I got all the original software with it.

Good morning/evening. Hope all are well. I'm not - I have a cold and I feel miserable:-(

It's cloudy breezy and cold outside. I should think we'll get some rain before long.

Good morning Sue. I hope that your cold is not too severe.

CC, if you were in the West Indies and wanted to be PC you would have to say cinnaperso ( think about that one!), except that would sound like a naughty person :0))

The cold's not too bad - just enough to feel miserable.

I do use manuka honey CC but will try the cinnamon too. I do remember talking about it awhile back. My daughter has been sprinkling it on the children's cereal.

Good Morning Allan,
Hope you are well today, and that Mrs Allan got home safely and had a big welcome from the cats - and from you of course.

CC.....I can't believe you were ever a forward hussy - always thought of you as a shrinking violet.

Yes - I have got Passing Strangers, never tire of playing it.
Do you have any Duane Eddy records?

My first visit to San Francisco in 1959 I went to a Cellar Bar with friends, there was a young black singer there. We thought he was good, and somebody commented that he deserved a better venue - his name, Jonny Mathis...........he got better venues!!!!

Sorry to hear your feeling a bit poorly Sue and I hope you are better soon .

It's been rather warm here in Norfolk today . I managed to get out and hack at a few bushes in the garden with my trusty secateurs . The garden is looking positively miserable at the moment . A case of " Dry August Burned " and it's only July ......lol

I hope all the othe frequenters of this thread are well......I didn't get back sooner as I've been being drained by Grandchildren.........zesty little blighters ......lol

Good evening Amanda

Tec, OH got back safe and sound. She had a good trip and was as warm as toast thanks to big wood burning stoves.

I cooked a nice chicken casserole for dinner. OH is now saying that we shall have to visit Ballingup. I've been telling her that for ages!! Ballingup is about 20 kms south of Donnybrook and has a quaint feel to it.

Photos will be taken!!

Hi Amanda,

If you were here, your garden would be afloat, everything growing at an amazing rate, but very wet.
The Grandchildren keep you fit.....really.

Hello Tec , Allan and everyone .

We seem to get the reverse weather from you Tec ......it's been SO dry for weeks , a bit of a downpour a few days ago but it made little to no difference to the ground .

Having said that , we are still getting good crops off the allottment ( I'm sick of the sight of pea and bean pods..........lol ) .

And yes .....Grandchildren keep one fit......OH laughs and says I spin on the spot when they start the " Nanny can i have this Nanny can I have that please ".....lol

Amand,
We've had several very dry spells, but once it starts raining here, it forgets to stop. I'ts all my fault because I put a water feature in my garden recently, it hasn't stopped raining since.

I think you are due some rain on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Hello Amanda - you do love your garden don't you:-))

Yes Tec - we did enjoy our visitors yesterday. My OH's sister and her husband. Always good company and never expect airs and graces just food, wine and a good laugh.

Yes Tec, it's a very pleasant townsite on the Blackwood River. There is a beautiful drive which follows the Blackwood to Nannup, which is also an old setlement.

Just outside Ballingup is a very old place called the Blackwood Inn which was just that until quite recently. It was on the market lastt year when I was working in Donnybrook and I was very tempted to purchase it.

The only drawack is that it is sited very close to the main road which carries very heavy traffic, both in volume and in weight so the foundations may be shot to pieces with ann the vibration from the traffic.

Yes Sue...........my garden is most precious to me ......... even when it is looking tatty............lol

Tec ......the weather forecast might say rain but that doesn't necessarily mean any will fall .........lol
I'm so glad you didn't put your water feature in place back in April , as we had a lovely sunny week in Wales back then ( couldn't believe at the time that not one drop of the wet stuff fell ) .

I'm off to bed now , so night all . Got to face the dreaded weekly shop in the morning !

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 18 Jul 2010 23:52

Allan, That area sounds nice, shame that modern traffic conditions may have damaged the Blackwood Inn - we get a lot of that here, where roads that were once little more than tracks now carry huge trucks, and heavy traffic. If you ever get a photo of the Inn, I would be interested to see it.
