Allan it would be a shame to dismantle that boat - it sure is a brilliant idea to promote recycycling around Australia.

Amanda, I love Daisy's sense of humour, and wit. That was a good one.

Sue we're getting desparate for the cruise, anything would be better than nothing - even a raft - they did very well on Kon-Tiki.

She is Sue ......especially the little madam bit .....lol......she is always pulling my leg and finds it highly amusing when I fall for it ! considering she is not six yet , she has an incredible sense of humour .

I saw a glimps of the re-cycled boat on the news . I woder if they carried any Captain Tollys with them ?

I'm off to bed now . OH has just instigated the routine and I'll feel guilty if I don't join in .......we had a disturbed night last night as we had baby Granddaughter here and she was being sick all night . We are really getting a bit old and worn for that sort of thing .

Hope you have a good day in Oz and night night to the sleepy heads of GB .

lol Amanda

I think that I would like to meet your grand daughter, we could have a lot of jokes to swap!

Tec, even I draw the line about setting sail on a raft. That's something you only do AFTER you're shipwrecked :0))

That's true Tec - and I admit I've been on very small vessels as well as large ones. I've even been on a paddle steamer on the Murray River but one made of plastic....I don't think so:-))

Well that didn't take long.

I saw that on the new's about the boat made of recycled plastic, can't remember were it sailed from just know it was arriving in Sydney. I don't think I would chance it on that thing either Sue, the Queen Victoria sound's more like the one we need ( sheer luxury.

Busy, busy, busy.
I know that it was very remiss of me to ignore you last night, but I decided to spend some quality time with OH last night rather than be on line.

I had to be up and out early this morning because I had an appointment for a haircut. I wanted to look for some walking sandals while I was there as well. I did find some eventually, typically none of the ones in the sales were any good, so I ended up buying an expensive pair, but you get what you pay for and if they last as long as the last ones, I won't grumble.

I also bought some more baby grows for little Eve as she has outgrown the small baby ones. We are going down on Thursday evening to spend the weekend with them

Then I came home and went to the supermarket. They were selling off the Basil plants, so I bought all of them and the rest of the ingredients to make another large vat of pasta sauce as I have almost run out. That will have to wait until tomorrow though as we are on cinema duty tonight and I don't have time to deal with it.

I did cook and pickle lots of beetroot though and I have a large pan of home made vegetable soup on the go at the moment.

Apart from that, I haven't done much today lol

I will look in after we come back from the cinema, bye, my soup is calling me - what I don't know.

Hello CC and Linda .......evening / morning to everyone else .

Linda , I hope your veg soup was good . We don't pickle out beetroot , I like eating it fresh ( especially in a crusty bread sandwich ...yum yum ) .

Buying baby grows is a very pleasant pastime .....I hope you enjoy your week-end of cooing over Eve : ))

CC.......your accounting sounds very complex......I'm more of a stuff it all in a draw with a big " paid " tick on it ....I bet if I went on a rummage I'd find old bills from the year dot lurking in my draws ( cupboard draws I hasten to add !! )..........lol

Good for you , getting chatted up by the veg counter . As it happens I ran into an " old flame " today outside the co-op ....first thing he did was comment on how grey my hair is going , cheeky so and so ! I didn't retort with a how fat he was looking but on retrospect I should have .

I've had a pleasent day , with the house to myself for most of it ( which only happens once in a blue moon )...it was nice to listen to the sound of silence : ))

Good evening Amanda, CC and Linda and morning to other's who no doubt will have appeared by the time I have posted.

Linda your veg soup sound's inviting, wish I lived near you and then I could have had some for my evening meal which I haven't yet had, I love pickled beetroot especially with stew YumYum. Babies don't stay in first size for very long do they, that was why when I knitted for friend's babies I alway's did second size.

CC my employer's mum is like you with bill's and it has rubbed off on me, every month I work out all payment's to be made first and then what is left is what I have to live on, never much left for me Doh. BTW will you stop chatting up all those men, if your not flirting with them at the shop's you are dragging them around your living room lol ( 0nly jealous really )

Amanda sound's like my kind of day hun.

Hello Diane : )

I hope you back is holding out ok and that being back at work hasn't been too tough on you .
Do you really eat pickled beetroot and stew ? that sounds like a strange combination to me....lol

Good Evening CC, Amanda,and Linda,

CC.........I wasn't old enough to have a DA haircut, quiff, and sideburns, I believe they belonged in the "Teddy Boy" era, drainpipe trousers and drapes - I do remember the fashion, but as a ten yr old would have looked a bit silly in that get up. I was more in the Mods and Rockers era - having owned a Lambretta scooter I suppose I was a Mod.

Amanda - It was very un-gallant of your old flame to comment on your sophisticated grey hair - the cad. I tend to get chatted up by old ladies in supermarkets. I do resent the ones that approach me with "What are you looking for dear - can I help you" Do I look helpless? or senile? Having been shopping since I was four yrs old, I think I can manage.
I do have a bit of a thing going with a lady on the the deli counter. When she sees me waiting she shoves the other girls out of the way and says " I'll serve this gentleman - he's my special gentleman" then appears to go all silly.. I have of course done nothing to encourage this lady's attentions.

Linda.... I hope you enjoyed your day of rest, cornering the world market in Basil, and turning heads with the glam hairstyle.

Tec.

Good Evening Diane - I agree, that CC is a right flirt, molesting unsuspecting old men on the fruit counter - some people have no shame.
