Hello Diane - I was hoping you'd pop back on. I'm wondering where Tec's got to. Maybe there's something on the telly that's more interesting than talking to us. Can't think what that could possibly be:-))

My mum would put a plate of bread on the table with dinner presumably for the same reason. I also remember lots of potatoes on the plate.

CC - talking of families. I have been putting the family tree on Ancestry over the last couple of weeks. Already I've received a couple of messages but the most interesting one came the other day. It was from a person writing on his partner’s behalf asking about OH’s maternal great grandmother. It would seem that this person’s partner is the grandson of the lady. As the dates didn’t work out I questioned the relationship only to be told that the grandson is the son of a child born 5 years after OH’s great grandfather passed away. I don’t think anyone here now knows that story. The amazing thing is this fellow remembers a couple of family members who have only been names to us. He also sent a very nice photo of his dad. So a new “cousin”.

I do understand Tec:-)) I couldn't see OH in the house yesterday and then noticed he was sitting on the verandah with a small smile on his face. When I asked what he was thinking he said "nothing at all" and that he was watching the rain, some adventurous birds and some children playing in their gran's carport. I left him to it:-))

Good evening and good morning to all of you - and goodnight to those I've missed.

It has actually been raining lightly yesterday and last night. Quite wet underfoot this morning but no more rain as yet. "Patchy rain" forecast with a possible thunderstorm later. We'll see if it happens.

Haven't read all your posts yet. When I do that, everyone has gone by the time I finish reading. There hasn't been much on here later in our day either - is everybody so busy?

Tec - you are right about taking a back seat. When I was involved in my children's sport, it was interesting to walk along the sideline behind the row of parents (who were all experts and knew more than the coach did) and watch their antics. Many times, more entertaining than the match itself!

Sound's like bliss Sue, nothing to do but just relaxing and enjoying your surrounding space.

Hello Berona - as always it's good to see you. We still laugh about a soccer game our son played in when he was about 7. One mother got so frustrated she ran on the field and kicked the ball into the goal mouth. She then yelled at the kids and said "that's how you do it". It's become a family joke - and no it wasn't me or my son's team:-))
