If I ever get back to the UK I'll avoid all my old 'childhood' happy memory spots and visit places that I have never seen before.

Tec I fobbed off the Agent by saying that I only donate to Charitable Organisations ad ha mumbled something about ASIO which I think is an acronym for Australian Sanitary Inspectors Organisation :0)

I've spoken to Mike Love of the Beach Boys too. I went to a small concert in 1970 and Mike wandered through the crowd chatting with people including my friend and I. It was very exciting - he kissed my hand:-))

Sue ...... your trying to make me jealous aren't you .....lol

I don't care much for Mike Love , he was a good front man for the band but I think he is a bit of an ego ........Brian was the back bone ( even if he was mad ) .

I am still a bit envious though ....lol

Allan .....you wouldn't have to avoid all your old haunts ...... my Cornish woes probably just stemmed from being bogged down with children .

SueMaid Report 29 Jul 2010 23:06

Mike Love has a massive ego Amanda:-)) I have a great dvd of Brian Wilson singing some new songs. At the end he sings Good Vibrations and it brings you to tears - it's so beautiful. He is mad but they say genius is only one step from madness:-))

Sue - I bet you've not washed that hand since lol.

Allan, I would think just to mention ASIO to M15 would throw them into disarray, and you would be treated with the greatest courtesy.

Amanda - I once had a friend in the pop industry - Graham Bonney - famous in Germany - he threw a party that I attended and who should be there - but the Beach Boys - all gathered in the kitchen having a laugh. Then later they popped up on a ship I was working on, on the West Coast of America, so we were aquainted - they were very nice lads, very sociable.

Tec ......I'm impressed : )) and I'm glad they seemed like " nice lads " , I would have been sad to hear otherwise .

Sue ...Brian Wilson did a concert in England to promote his long awaited " Smile " album , my brother went ( lucky beggar ....lol ) . Brian has lost none of his talent over the years and as you say , has in fact become more poignant if anything ....bless him .

That's the dvd I have Amanda - the Smile concert. My eldest son bought it for me after he'd bought one for himself. I watched an interview with Brian awhile back and his wife answered most of the questions for him. She's very protective. He's like a child - a very clever one.

I'm very jealous of you Tec:-))

I have the Smile Cd but not the DVD ....... I have probably seen the interview you mention Sue , he is a fragile man , yes , like a child is a good analogy .

If it wasn't so late at night here I'd be tempted to put some of their music on and have a listen but the house is settling down for the night and one has to be diplomatic : )

Tecwyn Report 29 Jul 2010 23:34

Please don't be jealous Sue - I've met a lot of famous people in my life, and it has always struck me how once out of the spotlight how "ordinary" they are - there were a few exceptions of course, and one or two obnoxious ones - but on the whole famous people are just like everyone else in private, when they get the chance to "switch off the limelight"

Good Evening CC,

You do have a frantic life - I wish I could keep up - well not the Pole Dancing bit of course.

Graham Bonney had the hit Super Girl, in the 60s - he went down a storm in Germany at the time. I knew his family very well - his Grandmother encouraged him in the music business - a lovely lady.

Hi CC. I love Donovan - he was a huge favourite of mine. One of my favourite songs is Catch the Wind and I have requested that this be played at my funeral - many many years from now:-))

Well it's almost the witching hour and I need my sleep so I'll be you all a good night .........it's been an interesting evening on here .

CC ..... Brian Wilson is a perfectionist I think , that would probably make him shout a lot if other people get getting it wrong . Mike Love was the one with the over puffed Ego ...........lol

Well as Amanda has said - tis the witching hour - so I too must go to bed perchance to dream.
Enjoy your day Sue, Allan, Berona who will be along just now.

Goodnight Miss Amanda - sweet dreams.

We went to a Chris Isaak concert and after the show he signed a CD cover for me. He was very pleasant but when I leaned over and touched his hand and said how much I enjoyed the show a very tough looking woman stepped forward and said "no touching". I looked at Chris Isaak, he looked at me and we both giggled. I heard him say the word "gestapo" as I walked away:-))

Sue xx

Goodnight Tec - sleep tight.

We asked Dick Emery for his autograph after a show he gave here in Aus. He was most unpleasant and very impatient if someone didn't speak quickly enough and give a name for the autograph. I went right off him and never watched his show on telly after that. I was also annoyed when we went to see Gerry and the Pacemakers a couple of years ago. He put on a great show and brought back some great memories but after the show he disappeared and left a line of people disappointed because he didn't want to sign autographs. I had a booklet from the ferries on the Mersey that I thought would be good to have his autograph on.

I must be off and start my day. I've put some washing on the line and made the bed and washed breakfast dishes but there are still a few things to do.

Good night to you CC and have a good day Aussies.

Good Evening Amanda,

How are you?
It has been absolutely pouring with rain all day, and finally stopped about an hour ago. I feel sorry for all the holiday makers, some are in caravans and tents around the coast - must be hard to be stuck like that with children.

Thank you CC for the YouTube address.

Good evening Tec ..... I am well thank you , enjoying a peaceful evening .

It must be looking very lush and verdant in your area , with all the rain . It is a bit miserable for the holiday folk : ( we did well to come to Wales back in April and not get a drop of rain .

Have you been to Copper Mountain ( on Anglesey ) ? It was one of the plases that I just had to see...............I was mightly impressed : ))

Allan Report 30 Jul 2010 22:44

Good evening Amanda and Tec

How are you both?

Sorry that it is still raining Tec.

We had a small caravan when we lived in the UK, but we were never worried by the wet weather. Our daughter was only a baby, so never really knew anything about it. Our son was a toddler and always found plenty of things to keep him amused. Or else I would read to him. I could get through "The Hobbit" in a week!!
