I have an address book by my computer

It lists all the sites for which I have passwords, alphabetically, and a code for which password applies to each site ................ plus a coded answer to the "safety question" that some sites require.

The actual passwords (and safety answers) are coded in another area of the book

OH and my daughter know about this book, and know to go onto sites and cancel me if anything happens to me

The last pages of the book turn into my "little black book" .........

......... a list of people on GR who I will not help or are best avoided. This list dates back to the great heydays of GR when the site was really busy and there were lots of posters and requests, and most, thankfully, have now left GR, or at least do not post on the threads (unless they've changed their names :-) )

Have you and Eve been dancing around this morning Linda?

Persephone

Persephone Report 3 Dec 2014 09:46

He shouldn't and I don't think I can anymore.

I lost my password's which were in a 2013 diary.. I must have packed it somewhere in the move and forgot to tell myself where. I could remember some of them but I had to change quite a few as well. They are now in a 1947 diary, I know I won't misplace that (I hope)

Oh dear Huia, I know what you mean about passwords, I have a spreadsheet printed off with all mine in them. At home it is fine because I stay logged in to the sites, but if I am away and using my kindle, I need to log in. It used to be easy because in the old days, I just had one easy password for everything. Now realising the error of my ways, I have different ones with complicated passwords for the sensitive sites. Those I have trouble remembering

I am glad you are on my side Sylvia, we will "persuade" Tec to get those wires moved so he can have another wheelchair up there to get along the landing and into his bedroom. At the moment he is hopping on his good leg and he knows he shouldn't be doing that

So if anyone else would like to join our campaign, feel free

Hello all, from an internet cafe. My dial-up provider has had problems for the last 2 days, all dial-up customers are affected. :-( I am getting balder by the minute. And I cant remember my password for FB so cant look at that now. :-|

we've just been printing off the Christmas letter

OH has been helping me (?) as I am still trying not to do too much standing and walking ............. and this is required because of where my printer is

so far we have had to replace the black ink cartridge .................. first time for that job, so it took some time

got it all fixed and about 10 more pages printed, and the colour cartridge ran out

it's funny ................ I read and understand instructions much faster than he does, always have done ..................... so these very simple jobs get very fraught :-|

Tec ................

even if you do have the cable boxes moved, it is a great idea to take up a flask with you ................ saves you having to get out of a warm bed to turn the kettle on and then pour the water into a cup

You can keep the flask and a mug close by the bed :-)

Hi Sue, and everyone

it was another lovely sunny, cold day!

clear skies again tonight, and the moon is gorgeous

I think tomorrow (Wednesday) might be the last of these days ............... warmer with rain is forecast for Friday :-(

Sue .............. congratulations to your son. He's doing really well!

University life can be very introspective and almost divorced from reality, but also a good environment for those who enjoy it.

One does have to make an effort to meet people outside uni .................... that's why we do not live in the "university area" or even close to the university. It has kept us grounded in real life over the years :-)

sleep tight up-abovers xxxxx

enjoy your day, down-unders xxxx

Hello Persie !!

I've done a couple of courses over the years for my own interest - photography, creative writing. This has been with an adult education organisation. I used to work in administration for this organisation years ago but it has become an enormous business now.

I think that my son will always continue to do further studies even when he is working in his chosen field. I think he may even decide he wants to do research work within the Uni as he seems to thrive on the life.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Dec 2014 22:16

I'm not scared Sue - really I'm not :-D

Hello Persie,
I've done all the studying I need to do. I am ignorant of so many things, but what little knowledge I have of this world will have to do now.

I didn't go to university, except the university of life, and oh boy was that an eye opener :-D
I graduated with Honours :-D

Everyone gets money except Evan who gets a smaller amount of money and I usually buy him clothes.. I have been very successful with him with summer shorts and t-shirts. And August will of course get gifts. Last year I sent down clothes and a huge recycling truck. He got to open it before Christmas because of its size and addressed to him could not be hidden in their small place.

Us two have always bought our own, even when the girls were growing up. They always thought we gave to each other but we found it easier and OH is not good on receiving surprise presents.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Dec 2014 22:08

It is nice that my brother visits me weekly Sue, he prefers to do something practicle rather than sit around chatting.
There is always something to do here.

Gift vouchers and money are a good idea, always welcome to youngsters.

I have bought my daughter, SIL, and grand daughter some small gifts. Grand daughter will welcome cash.
I've also bought them a pressure washer as they are always borrowing mine :-(
it has had so many journeys between my house and theirs it must be dizzy. :-D

I really do not know what to give the Duchess. That is a real problem.

I will growl at "bated" whoever he is/they are...

Thermos is a good idea.. when I was little girl in hospital having my appendix out, I was fascinated by the dumb waiter. The meals arrived upstairs via this contraption. Don't seem to hear or see much of these now.

Well done your lad.. Sue. It seems to be a never ending process all these papers that people do. I thought my SIL would have stopped writing papers now that he has a PHD but no he has to churn them out for where he works now. Plus my eldest daughter who got her Batchelor's in Early Childhood is now doing post graduate papers.

I had always thought I would return to Uni yet again and do these fun courses on Egyptian History or the Peloponnesian Wars, but they have got so costly. May reconsider doing this if they have similar at Waikato university for when we move to Cambridge on the other hand people keep giving me their genealogy to do so that may be enough.

I think it's so nice that your brother visits you often Tec.

I have the day to myself so I'm meeting a friend for coffee and then I'm going to do a little Christmas shopping. Except for Aiden I know exactly what I'm getting for the rest of the family. Gift vouchers - they are more than happy with that. My daughter has asked if I can give money to the children as they are going to take them to a theatre show in Sydney during the summer break. A lovely experience for them..

I think the flask is the best idea :-)

I will get around to contacting the stairlift people. There has been so much going on, but it will be quieter next week.

I know that you and Sylvia are a pair of pussycats :-D so I'm not scared
