There were several people walking about in cotton shorts here, like a summers day :-D

Had I not gone to see the Duchess I too would have spent the day in the garden

I am glad that you spent a nice afternoon with the Duchess.

My sister said she had been a lovely day and she had been out in the garden all afternoon. It has been a horrible day here, it was raining when we went to the market square this morning and it has been really dark and dreary all afternoon

I am a happy Welshman :-D Da iawn Cymru, ac bendigedig.

at last we won against a Southern Hemisphere team.

I watched the match with the Duchess in her room, and we both enjoyed it. It was nice to watch something together again.

Had a few things to do in town before going to the home, and as I hadn't eaten all day I decided to treat myself to lunch out - made a change, and didn't have to think what to do for dinner tonight.

Was a really beautiful day here. Clear blue sky, sunshine and quite warm. More like a Spring day, which is incredible for the end of November.

Persie - that man was a smart businessman. Why bother goiing anywhere else when there was a discount store so close?

Here in Australia, we have the Boxing Day sales. Supposedly, the goods are leftover Christmas stock, but many stores order special shipments in and hold them back for Boxing Day sales, then drop the prices so people will rush for them - and they do, too. Doors open early and the crowds of cutomers surge in like a stampede, fighting each other for the 'bargains'.

We have had a coffee from one of the gas stations today, got the milk, paper and they have these wonderful cup cakes so I had a chocolate one.. I did the silver deal and he had a pie and a gold deal. Plus we grabbed a sandwich pack each.. (sorri Linda, I rather fancied egg and chives)

Regarding these shops and deals, I remember way back in 1986 in one of my Resource Management classes being told about this chap who had a cut price stereo etc equipment store.. there was another store a couple of shops down that sold the same items but were more expensive. The same chap owned them both. It is all about perception. He even had the staff dress accordingly and he only ever appeared in the cut price one.

too late, too late, was the cry!!

I've missed you all ........ but I see Persie has left some toast and marmalade for me :-D

many thanks, Persie

we didn't have Black Friday here until about 4 years ago, when local traders decided they had to do something to try to keep Canadians shopping with them instead of going below the line on Black Friday

........... and, of course it spread quickly from the cities and towns close to the border to everywhere else.

It's been much quieter this year, though ...................... there were lots of problems last year, but fewer line-ups this year, and haven't heard of any "battles" in the stores, at least here.

May see something about the rest of the country when we watch the TV news tonight.

There have been a lot of warnings given out this week about being wary of deals that are no deals ................ many more than in previous years.

AND more people are staying in Canada than braving the long lineups at the borders, in addition to the lineups at the stores

I hope to be able to go for coffee tomorrow morning (Saturday) ................ OH has been busy with Fall Graduation ceremonies at the university for the last 3 days, and not getting home until almost 5 pm.

he can drive me down there tomorrow, so that I can "walk as little as possible" :-)

sleep well everyone xxx

enjoy your day, down unders :-)

I like Italian, and Middle East, and Chinese. Not keen on hot curries, but like some Indian dishes.

We have a friend now living in Vancouver who met her husband on a bus in Peru - we have called him Paddington ever since we learned this :-D

Paddington Bear likes marmalade.

I like French food and Italian and Middle Eastern .. don't do curries.

Aussie makes the best wines, though I know our wineries won't like me saying that. Prefer our beer though.
