It costs a fortune to replace his batteries, I am thinking of trading him in for a low energy LED model

Linda's OH just keeps on keeping on :-D

I can imagine you all get burns from handling those foil containers Linda. Take care.

Linda's OH has those drumming bunny batteries :-D

A tray with its own fan sounds very posh :-)

The wind is very cold Sue, and very noisy down the chimney, sounds like thunder :-(

Never mind - little more than three weeks to the shortest day :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 28 Nov 2014 20:48

The meals are incredibly hot when we collect them so the foil trays are really hot. We have a temperature probe and the meals are tested when we pick them up. We have to test one towards the end of the round to make sure they are still over 65 degrees, if not we are supposed to tell them to heat it up in a microwave

OH has a tray with a little fan on it to keep the laptop cool.

That wind sounds bitterly cold :-(

If you burnt yourself on a container Linda you really are an invalid and you need much pampering. I hope your poor OH doesn't collapse with exhaustion :-0

I shall get a bean bag tray then :-)

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 28 Nov 2014 20:35

You will have to send your daughter up to look for it Tec. The bean bag trays are easy to keep on your knee and they don't slide off

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 28 Nov 2014 20:35

You sound very comfortable Linda :-D

The wind is getting worse here, it's the wind that comes down off the mountain, which is always much worse than when it's off the sea.

Good Morning Sue,

Nice to have some civilised weather that enables you to do a bit outside.

Yes - it's great to be back upstairs again :-)

I am sitting with my feet up on the sofa and my laptop on its laptop tray

Good morning Sue, I am glad you are not too hot

Hello everyone and welcome Stephen :-)

A lovely warm day yesterday with a cool breeze. Perfect weather so we did some tidying up in the backyard and garage.

How nice that you are back in your bedroom, Tec :-)

Hello Linda,

That's a good idea about the craft tray. I think I have something here that will do the same job - though I suspect my daughter has spirited it away up the top, along with everything else I've "lost" :-D

I am glad you had a good night Tec. I like being tucked up in bed watching TV as well. If you are going to use your laptop, I suggest you buy one of the craft trays to put it on. It keeps it steady and keeps the air vents clear so it doesn't overheat

Hello World, :-)

Welcome Stephen,

The first night back in my bedroom was great. It felt right to be there, and I slept well.
I was thinking, it is actually a year since I slept up there, because this time last year I was "sleeping" on the sofa downstairs as I wasn't well enough to go upstairs. Then on January 9th I went on my NHS holiday.

My television is being installed up there on Tuesday. So on bleak winter nights I can go to watch tv in bed in comfort. Taking my laptop with me.

Today was nice, sunny, but very cold. I planted up the last of my plant troughs with Spring bulbs, and winter pansies.
Then I dried a line full of washing in a strong wind, but dropped the edge of a sheet in the dirt, so have to re-wash it in the morning.

I have been astonished watching this "Black Friday" phenomenon in the big stores offering sale bargains. Another unwanted practice imported from across the pond.
People in Cardiff Tesco's were actually fighting, coming to blows, and knocking women to the ground in their haste to grab a "bargain"

I could never imagine being so desperate.
