It's nice that little Esme recognises you on Skype. I hope her teeth are not giving her too much trouble.
Do you have to take a turn at being a Princess when you are down there? :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 Nov 2014 21:22

I am sure you would have got most of them Tec, it is just the last few which we are stuck on

As you missed dinner, would you like coffee now? There is some custard tart from the deli to go with it if you would like that

I'm no good at this, sorry - well done Huia :-)

So obvious when you see the answer.

We had a chat with Esme and Eve on skype earlier on. Esme waved as soon as she saw us, she has her first tooth poking through. Eve was being a princess,so no change there then

It bugs me when I can't spot things, but never mind the quiz is just to raise money for a local church, so lots of people buy them

S.H.L.O.A.B.O.S.
C.A.S.T.H.M

most of them are initials, there is just the odd one in clue form like the last one. I am sure you will finish them for us

I was only asking :-(

Who would have the temerity to suggest that anything you cooked would be less than Egan Ronay standard? :-D I do value my life.

At least your brother is interested, and maybe your sister will be as time passes and she is less busy.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 Nov 2014 20:42

Of course my recipe worked out :-0
Are you suggesting that I would prepare a bad meal :-|

My brother is quite interested in the tree, so I put it on his computer for him. My sister says she is, but she flaps around never having time for anything, so I won't bother as she wouldn't look at it

Tecwyn

I wish I had kept up calligraphy as it would look so much better. I was good at it once and had all the correct pens and ink.
I was talking to my brother this afternoon about family history, but he isn't really interested, which is such a shame.
My maternal family history is particularly interesting.
I often wish I had researched while my mother was still alive, as I know that she wasn't aware of much of her ancestry, and would have been fascinated by the things I have discovered.

When I get my dining room back I will have the dining table to work on and can shut the door on it to go back to.

Did your recipe work out?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 Nov 2014 20:07

Ooh sorry we are all the dinner :-D

The tree does make sense, I printed out some parts of e tree in a book form for my mum and she liked reading them. It is much easier to print the charts when the branches are smaller. I want to get my tree into a series of small booklets as well, so that it isn't all on the computer

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 8 Nov 2014 17:26

Can I come to dinner please? :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 8 Nov 2014 17:24

I think that you are very brave to embark on such a task.

I also made the mistake of combining mine and the Duchess's tree together, it was a bad mistake.
So this winter I am separating them , but on paper.

I have a roll of top quality lining paper that has the feel of parchment.

My daughter is concerned that, as she delicately put it, I pop my clogs and everything is in the computer.

So I thought it would be nice to have something tangible to read.

I also want to write interesting facts about certain people in the tree in a book, with a coded index.

There are grandparents trees on both side as well.

Instead of a massive tree, that is complicated to anyone not used to genealogy, separate trees would be easier to follow, especially on paper.

I know that we can get trees printed professionally , but I'd rather like to have a go myself.

Does any of the above make sense?
