Well being outside in the tent I should image Sue was somewhat desperate at times while you were away. :-D

so of course she noticed :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Nov 2014 22:25

I didn't think she had noticed :-D

Enjoy your day Sue <3

Bye Sue :-D

Enjoy the day.

I'm sorry to say that I think Linda was hiding from us Tec :-( I don't know why - we're not demanding at all.

I must start my day as I have some phone calls to make and it's after 9.00am here.

Goodnight Tec and Linda <3

Enjoy the rest of your day Sylvia <3

Surely Linda wasn't hiding from you Sue? :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 2 Nov 2014 22:13

Yes we were aware that you stayed away as much as possible when we stayed :-\

You are very fortunate Sue to have your climate and not have to bring things indoors, or protect them from frost.
It would be too cold to keep succulents outside here in winter.

Hello Sylvia - Hope you are having a good day :-)

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Nov 2014 22:09

Not last summer Sue, they were very poor because I didn't plant them up as I normally do with being away all summer

Hello Sylvia:-)

I wasn't a great fan of Acker Bilk but I'm sorry to hear that he has died.

You have nice plants in your pots, Linda.

I'm also sorry that Acker Bilk is dead.

I liked his music

I have some pansies in a couple of pots on the patio and in the hanging basket just outside the front door.

We don't get frosts here so I don't have to worry about that. I don't even need to bring any pots indoors. I am on a forum on FB where the members are mostly in America. In the northern states they have to bring in all their succulents and overwinter them with special lamps. They show photos of basements and living areas covered in pot plants. I love my plants but I wouldn't like the overcrowding.

Because we enjoy mild, if wet, weather here in the winter, the winter flowers seem to do very well.
It was too cold where we used to live due to frosts.

Sad that Acker Bilk has died. The Duchess was a great jazz fan. We went to Ronnie Scotts a few times when we lived in the South. He was there on one occasion, and was really great live.

How nice to have your daughter and SIL for a whole weekend. Good that they did some odd jobs for you too.

It's amazing how a pot of flowers brighten up an area. I love Spring flowers but pansies in winter are very heartening.

I see Acker Bilk has passed away. OH is a great fan of his. Such a shame but apparently he has been ill for awhile.

It hammered down with rain all night here, and on and off all day today.

My daughter and SIL were here for the weekend. It was lovely to see them, and they did quite a few odd jobs for me.
Yesterday they visited the Duchess, she was well, and I will go during the week depending when the decorator is here, assuming he turns up.

I did manage to get three window box type troughs planted up with Spring bulbs and winter pansies. They are attached to the bars of the ramp in the front, to brighten it up a bit in the winter.

The ones I bought weren't expensive Linda - it was the fully grown specimens. They were beautiful but as Tec said - I would have got the 'look' :-\

A beautiful sunny morning again although we may get some rain later. Yesterday was so much cooler.

Tecwyn Report 2 Nov 2014 21:31

Good Evening Linda,

If Sue could spend that sort of money on a plant - she could pay for the cruise :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Nov 2014 21:29

If Sue is buying such expensive plants she must have won the lottery and not told us :-|

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Nov 2014 21:23

Never mind the others - they'll just be jealous :-D

If you look after them they will become heirlooms in time :-)

$4,500 is a bit excessive, so glad you weren't tempted - you'd have got the "look" :-D
