Linda I hope that your soire was a success, and everyone enjoyed themselves, and appreciated your culinary efforts :-)

Berona - How can you say that you are cold at 17 C :-D
That's a common summer temperature here. Today was 20C here, and I was hanging out washing in my shirtsleeves, basking in the warmth :-D
Minus 10C is a bit cold in the winter - then you would need your cardigan on :-D

Carole it is encouraging when you see signs of Spring in the garden, and the birds are getting busy.
We have had a good summer so far this year - lots of sunshine, and at times a little to hot for us up here.

Tec :-)

Poor Berona, you must be freezing at 17 :-D

It was still very warm in London last week, but up here we had a terrific thunder storm yesterday with rain of biblical proportions. That has cooled it down so today it is rather cloudy with a high of 21. As long as it is warm enough for some people to sit in the garden this afternoon, that will be fine.

I have spent the morning cooking,so now I have most things ready. Some need reheating and I have a red onion and goats cheese puff pastry tart to cook from scratch, but I got the onion based ready yesterday,so that won't take much doing.

We are not kicking off until 4pm which is good as one of the new neighbours is having a do and gad invited us for Pimms on the lawn at 2.30. As I am organised,we will have time to go there for an hour before I need to do things here.

I never imagined snow down your way Carole, Sue will be jealous because they only had a small flurry whole they were away

Hello Berona and everyone,

Its very cold down south too Berona. As a matter of fact we had snow in Ballarat and other areas close by on Friday, it was bitterly cold here and I could tell there was snow somewhere near. I can also see spring is not that far off because some of our trees are starting to show lots of colour and the birds are busy when the sun shines, so its a good sign of better weather to come :-)

Carole.

Hello everyone. Just wondering how you are all coping with the warm weather over there?
Looks like you sent all your cold weather home with Sue. To-day Sydney had the coldest morning for August in 50 years! What are you doing Sue? None of us has complained about it being warmer than normal. We still got to 17 here (for a short while - didn't feel that good). I have stayed indoors and had the aircon on all day - but I'm always cold - so don't regard me as 'normal'. I'm just a softie.

I think the unusual weather worldwide has confused many plants into flowering at the "wrong" time, but I expect it will all balance out in the end.

The birds here were nesting much earlier than usual this year, and many got two hatchings in.

Well I must make a drink and go to bed now,

Hope everything goes well Linda, and everyone enjoys themselves :-)

Enjoy your Sunday Sue whatever you choose to do today,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

Some of my succulents are flowering early and there are some buds on a couple of my orchids. The succulents should be dormant but I think they forgot to go to sleep :-)

With the unusually warm temperatures there while you were away there should be quite a lot growing still I would think

Since we arrived home it has been very sunny but quite chilly. I had a good look at the garden yesterday and it's not looking too bad.

Milo is a lovely old dog. He wandered in this evening, looked at me, curled up and went to sleep. I think he was shattered after his exciting day meeting all the other dogs, and the people.

Hope all goes well and the weather stays good for you.

Well done Milo - he is a lovely dog :-)

Tecwyn Report 2 Aug 2014 23:20

No - I think he went out in adverse conditions because he couldn't bear to think how distraught you'd be without an onion :-D

with everything ruined............

and all his fault :-D
