I wonder if anyone will come looking for us in 100 years?

I think I will have an illuminated headstone, playing tasteful music :-D

Sue if you want something different in Leeds, find the Leeds Art Gallery which is on the bottom of the Headrow, the main street at the Millenium Square end . Joined onto it is the Henry Moore Galleries open from 11am. I think it is all free

I'm ignoring Linda :-P

Not all of my ancestors have headstones but I know where they are so I can still "visit" them.

There is something very satisfying about seeing an ancestors name carved on a headstone in an old grave yard, whereas previously it was a name in your tree.
Somehow makes the connection real.

Tecwyn Report 21 Jul 2014 22:52

Whatever would Sue want with a spade in a grave yard? :-0

No good digging them up - they won't tell you anything :-D

29 is too hot even for us :-(. Drink lots of water, Linda.

I have walked in the footsteps of my ancestors and I know where so many are buried so apart from paying my respects at various churchyards we will just spend the day looking around. The markets are quite good and the Leeds Armoury is a very good museum.

I have taken up the southern habit of carrying a bottle of water with me

Sue said she was going to some churchyards, I am a bit worried because she asked OH if she could borrow a spade

29 is too hot Linda - make sure you drink plenty. Hope you don't melt

You have been so lucky with the weather Sue, just the odd wet day.

Hope you have a good time in Leeds. Are you going on a voyage of discovery? or just a look around?

I've never been to Leeds.

It is going to be 29 here by Wednesday, no fun at all

I have a tower fan, it is quiet quiet, quieter than the one I have at home. I need it here though because I am on the ground floor and can't have the window open

SueMaid Report 21 Jul 2014 22:41

It has cooled down now but it has been a glorious if hot day today.

Tomorrow we are going to Leeds - home of many of my ancestors.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 21 Jul 2014 22:39

ooh - it's going to get hotter..........

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 21 Jul 2014 22:32

It's amazing the children sleep at all in that heat and humidity.

I have used the fan in the bedroom when it's very hot, but the noise is a nuisance. Maybe there are quieter ones now.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 21 Jul 2014 22:28

It is Eve, daddies birthday today, so they have gone out for a drink, leaving me babysitting. They should be back by about 11.30 though.

Even waited to see me before she went to sleep, Esme woke up as soon as her parents went out, but she just needed her dummy.

It is incredibly humid down here, so I will put the fan on when I go to bed

I have to admit is was a very nice meal, Linda :-)

I think Linda may be theatre performer Tec but not in the West End ;-)

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 21 Jul 2014 22:26

Hello Linda :-D :-D :-D

didn't realise that you were lurking :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 21 Jul 2014 22:25

Oh that's too bad Sue,

You were made for much better things than having to wash lettuce.

I do wonder about Linda - you don't suppose she's got a job as a dancer in one of the West End shows do you?

All this coming and going ;-)
