Hello Linda - why are you cross?

Amanda2003 Report 17 May 2014 22:34

Yes Tec , I believe you are right . The " hiding " incident happened many years ago and I am older and wiser now .

You mentioned earlier , that you had taken some photos of your garden , do you have a digital camera ? Can you send pics on an e-mail ? I should like to see what your garden looks like if possiable :-)
I've been getting to grips with the camera my kids bought me for christmas two years ago :-0 I couldn't get the feel for it at first but my old little camera has been letting me down lately , so , I decided to give the new one a go. The esults have been rather pleaseing so far :-)

Good Morning Sue,

It seems that the plants and wildlife get confused by unseasonal weather conditions.

It was good to see the Duchess today. She seemed more at peace with her situation. There were no tears, or begging to be taken home, a situation that I find very hard to take.
She did get a little upset when she couldn't think what it was she wanted to tell me when she saw me, but that was frustration more than anything.
I suggested that she writes down anything she wants to tell me, to show me next time.

Hello Sue, you arrived as I typed.

Our garden is absolutely full as well, we went round this afternoon pulling some things out which had spread too much

Hello Tec and Amanda

It has been a lovely day here, but I am very cross tonight.

I am glad that you had a good visit to the duchess Tec

I think it is strange that people ignore the fact that you are in a wheel chair minus your leg, I would mention it in a nice way of course.

Good evening :-)

Thank you Elizabeth for your warm wishes - as always it is so good to see you here <3

I am so pleased that you saw the Duchess, Tec. I too hope you get your licence sorted soon so you can visit more often. I can well imagine that night time is when you miss the Duchess the most <3

Amanda - while your garden is ahead of itself we are having unseasonably warm weather and some of our plants are still flowering. I have a pot of bulbs that are already starting to sprout despite me telling them to slow down :-D

Tecwyn Report 17 May 2014 22:24

Yes Amanda - I do indeed have my dear friends here to discuss the events of the day, and that does mean such a lot to me. :-)

Your friend losing her baby daughter was the saddest of situations, and in that particular case, I would find it difficult to know what to , say.

I have often heard people say, that when they have been recently bereaved, people don't mention the recently deceased, as if they never existed. When in fact it helps them to talk about whoever is lost.

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 17 May 2014 22:15

Well Tec , at least you have us lot , to discuss the events of the day with :-) I know it's not the same but I hope it takes the edge off , a little .

I'm usually quite good at dealing with confronting unexpected situations in the third person scenario but I did once actually hide in a shop when I spotted an aquaintance that had recently lost her baby daughter , I just didn't know what to say or do , so I hide :-( I felt really ashamed of myself for that and have made a point , since then , of faceing situations full on ever since .

Tecwyn Report 17 May 2014 22:05

Amanda, There is much in what you say about the "end of the day routine" we were always in the habit of discussing the events of the day at bedtime - I miss that.

I think some people just don't know what to say when confronted by an unexpected situation. They feel uncomfortable, which is sad really, but I do understand.

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 17 May 2014 22:00

Tec , I don't think it's strange that you miss her most at bedtime , that would be the time that you go through the " end of the day " routine , as you used to have to consider what she may need in the night , it is no surpise that she is on your mind more at that time :-(

People sometimes don't know how to react to life changing events , hats off to the local person that didn't bat an eyelid :-)

Good Evening Amanda,

As you say, I do miss the Duchess around the house dreadfully, but am getting used to being on my own. The time I feel it most is at bedtime. The house does seem awfully quiet, and empty at that time - very strange.

I am glad that your OH gave in to the pigeons demands eventually :-D

Everything in my garden is well ahead too. I took some photo's today because there is so much colour out there at the moment.

The people in town that I met did have a shock. While they realised that they hadn't seen me around for awhile, they didn't know why. Curiously, two were obviously embarrassed, while the other one appeared not to notice, didn't mention it, and talked to me as if nothing was any different :-D

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 17 May 2014 21:43

Oh , I had missed this page before I tyed the last post :-0
Hello to you Elizabeth :-)

Good evening Tec , I am pleased to hear you had a good visit with the Duchess . You must miss her around the house a great deal :-( but it is good to know that she
seems more settled . Fingers crossed that you are allowed to drive again soon .

I expect it was a shock to the " locals " in the super market to see you after all this while .

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 17 May 2014 21:37

Hello Linda , I hope you are getting a rest after all those days on " super Gran" duty . They don't half take it out of you . :-) <3

Tec , it sounds as if your fish tank is well set up for any new arrivals .

It has just taken me half an hour to read back since the last time I posted !

Persie , our " Pidg " doesn't seem lost now , he is very much at home on the allotment . Having said that , he was in a huff for a couple of days , we took Isla with us a few days ago and he wasn't impressed by a small , unknown person being on the patch......lol OH went up there today on his own , he didn't attend to be handful of corn immediatly ( like I do ) , so he had the pidgeon following him about until he finally gave in ...... lol

It has been a glorious day here , very hot and sunny . My garden is at least a month ahead of itself , the bluebells are almost all over and the shrubs that flower in mid June are already beginning to bloom :-0

~~~~~~ to everyone :-)
Tecwyn Report 17 May 2014 21:19
Thank you Elizabeth - hoping you are having a lovely weekend too :-) Tec.
My mother also boiled veg to a pulp. Must have been a generational thing :-D
Been a really warm sunny day here - couldn't be better.
My daughter and Sil arrived late last night. Today we all went to see the Duchess, which pleased me enormously. She seemed more settled this time, and it was a pleasant visit. I really wish that I could get to visit more often. Hopefully I will get my license back soon.
After visiting the Duchess I went around the supermarket for the first time since Christmas.
It was good to spot things I had forgotten about that I used to buy.
Also it was good to see people that know me in the town.
Their reactions to seeing me in the wheelchair with a leg missing was interesting :-D
