Goodnight Diane, sleep well, :-)

Tecwyn Report 1 May 2014 23:16

Since I moved here, I have always grumbled that the garden isn't big enough. Now I am so glad that it's no bigger, as I can't manage what I do have :-D

Diane

Diane Report 1 May 2014 23:15

No Tec I have just taken it upon myself to do it, the solicitor was just going to get someone in to clear the house and then sell it so I chose to go in and make it more presentable for viewing, daft I know but that's just me.

I'm off now so will say Goodnight Tec and enjoy your day Sue :-) <3

It is difficult when relatives live too far away. I know that you do enjoy gardening, and as you say, it's your choice.
I got the impression that you were being left to it.

Trouble at the moment is that everything including weeds are growing so fast. My garden is a mess because I can't do much out there, and areas I can't get to :-0

Of course - I forgot Linda travels home on Thursday. She will be exhausted. I also think Linda is a star.

Diane Report 1 May 2014 23:04

Tec the only family member who could have got the house ready is the one who passed away just before my Aunt, all other family member's live to far away so it make's more sense me living round the corner from the house to do it. To be honest Tec I am happy to do it and no one expect's me to do it, it has been my choice.
Her niece from Bristol came up a couple of week's ago and offered to do some gardening, but as she was doing the trip up and back the same day I said I didn't think it would be a good idea to do any gardening. She and I are very close and she was really upset the way the house had been ransacked by those that had access and she said we should say as much to my aunt's solicitor.

Diane

Diane Report 1 May 2014 22:55

Sue didn't Linda say she would travel back on Thursday's, if that is the case then she is probably shattered after the journey. I think she is a star traveling back and forth every week, I just hope she doesn't over do it.

Tecwyn Report 1 May 2014 22:55

Diane, can't your aunt's family take responsibility for getting the property presentable for selling? seems rather unfair on you.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 1 May 2014 22:52

I may be wrong, but I think Linda was going home today. She is exhausted, and not very well, so probably looking forward to the break

Diane

Diane Report 1 May 2014 22:51

Well I only intend to make it a bit more presentable for selling, I would love to get it back as I used to keep it when my aunt lived there, since she went into the nursing home and I didn't have access to the property the family that had access to the property did nothing to keep the garden in check.

Well not quite the middle of the night :-D

Where's Linda? Probably exhausted from her Granny duties. I love having the children over but they can be tiring. Linda has the added task of feeding Esme.

Sapling trees can be a menace in a neglected garden. You will just have to keep at it with the weeds. When we came here the garden hadn't been touches in years, and was covered in raspberry canes - it took me months to dig them all out.
I also dug up three barrow loads of bluebell bulbs, that I replanted down on the riverbank.

I understand it is difficult for Berona because of the time difference but she usually post even if there is no one around and I hadn't seen any post for a few day's.

Thank's Sue for saying you will message her just to make sure all is well :-)

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 1 May 2014 22:40

Not everyone gets up in the middle of the night - as you do Sue :-D

It's nice to have a day just pottering :-)

Diane

Diane Report 1 May 2014 22:38

It is going to take me some time to sort the garden out as it is like a jungle, there are sycamore tree's growning all over the garden, I have cut off all small branches and will need to saw the main trunk's. I will also have to spray the path's with weed killer to stop the weed's coming back.

Once you get the go ahead by the DVLA ( I'm sure this will happen ) then you will be able to get a weekly shop when the weather is fine and just order the bigger item's that you can't manage :-)

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 1 May 2014 22:36

Berona has popped in a couple of times but as you say the time difference makes it difficult. When it's 8.00am here it's 11.00pm in the UK and you are all off to bed. I'll send Berona an email and make sure she is ok.

We have nothing planned today, Diane. We've had two busy days so we'll just potter around today.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 1 May 2014 22:29

Hello Sue, :-)

There will be lots of dry sunny days in which to paint the village red :-D

I too have noticed that Berona hasn't been around lately - I think the time difference is a bit awkward for her to post "live" as it were.
