Linda - I also hope that Esme will settle down with you soon. It must be very hard work the way things are for you, especially as you are obviously unwell - try to look after yourself as well.

Oh dear Linda - I hope things settle down with Esme soon and she gets used to being with you.

I am shattered. I am getting up at seven so that I can get ready before Eve wakes, then I can get her ready for nursery, so her mum doesn't need to . Then it is Esme who is whinging all day long. She is like a different child as soon as her mum comes back from work. She isn't impressed at being left with her father either on a Monday,so I don't feel too bad about it. Hopefully she will get used to me soon. She likes being in her buggy outside,so it is easier to do the milk feeds while wandering the streets. That means I have been walking for three hours today,so my feet are killing me.

My daughter has the same cold as I have,so she has turned in early,I don't think I will be far behind her :-(

That's what I think too Tec - what can be so terrible that a young person would see no other way out :-(

We've had Drew overnight as he didn't have a turn last week. He is making his own breakfast with the help of Grandad :-D

They must be very troubled young people. The teacher who died was 61yrs old, in Leeds. What a terrible end to her carreer.

The 14 yr old son of a friend of mine hung himself a while back. He was apparently worried about failing exams :-( awful to think a youngster thinks that's the only way out.

Tec - we hear more and more about this type of crime. A tragedy for the victims but I also wonder what has happened in such a young person's life for them to do such a thing.

A friend of my son's is a helicopter pilot with our CareFlight service. He is being counselled because he has attended the suicide of two 12 year olds. Shocking :-(

You are very brave negotiating the underground Linda. Many years since I did.

My brother knocked down a section of wall just over a metre by a metre, but it was hard going, the mortar was like stone, but it has been there over 100 yrs.

Sorry that your daughter and Esme are ill with colds - they seem to get so many colds.

The journey down was fine, I am becoming quite adept the underground. I take the Victoria line to Oxford Circus, then the Bakerloo line to Waterloo. Then swap to the overground train to Surbiton then get the bus to Kingston. There are other ways to do it, but that way seems easiest.

My daughter is full of cold and Esme has been howling all day, so presumably she is I'll as well, that is something to look forward to tomorrow.

I would love you come to help in my garden - Today I was looking ruefully at the weeds I can't get at - we are having warm and sometimes wet weather, so the weeds are luscious :-(

Awful news item just on - school teacher stabbed in front of her class. 15yr old arrested. What has happened to our kids :-0?

Been a busy day here - my brother came to take down part of a brick wall that was in my way - it was only about a metre high, and he took a metre off it. Much better now - My SIL potted up some plants for me. :-)

Tec ....... they really are spectacular!


Vancouver now has a Spring Cherry Blossom Festival like the one they have in Japan.

Unfortunately, the organisers time it to fit in with the Japanese one, and that is about 10 days too early for the spectacular show.


We have a very old white flowered Cherry tree in the back garden ............. it is supposed to be edible, but is very small and VERY tart!

If we can beat the birds to the ripe cherries ............... we make jam. The previous owners of the house use to make cherry wine with them :-)

Our friends that live in Vancouver, South Surrey area, have mentioned the cherry trees to us - they must look spectacular in Spring
