How old is he now?

You got some good prices on train fares. Will OH be going down to London with you?

They don't go out very often,so it is not too bad. The little boy is normally no bother, but he didn't seem very well today

SueMaid Report 28 Mar 2014 22:01

You babysit your neighbours' little one quite a lot. Hope he's a good baby.

Our next door neighbours are a very nice young couple with two lovely little ones but we had to pull back a little because they started to rely on us too much. I know that sounds awful but we have enough with our own family. Of course we always help in emergencies and a little bit of babysitting.

It has been raining here all afternoon as well

I made the mistake of going for coffee with the neighbour, she always asks me to babysit, so I have to do that tomorrow night

Hello Sue, I am glad you are feeling better

I am just starting to sort out trains for the journeys down to London. When I was watching TV last night I saw an advert for Tesco clubcard rewards and how you could get half price train tickets with them

As it is our only supermarket and nearest garage, we end up with lots of money coupons. Plus we have a Tesco credit card, so buy everything we can on it (the bank automatically pays it off every month,so we don't pay any interest) The credit card gives us double points on everything we buy in store and petrol and single points everywhere else. It is amazing how many coupons we end up with (well not considering my shopping habit :-D)

You can spend them at face value in the store, but you can get double or triple value by using them for hotels etc. When I renewed my senior railcard, I got it much cheaper by using the tokens and now I have found, I can turn every &5 into £10 to buy tickets with. As i am buying ahead of time, I can get cheaper tickets anyway. Assuming it goes through quickly, the first journey I need to make is only £9.55 non stop to London, so I will get it for half that which is crazy. Most of the other dates are more expensive, especially the trains I am coming back on, but still they will be half price as well

So fingers crossed the cheap fares are still there tomorrow when the admin should have gone through

Nice to see you Diane :-)

Sylvia - I remember my FIL telling me that you never have your hand out of your pocket when you have a car. It's true :-(

Linda - I'm feeling much better thank you. I didn't do much today so I guess having a good rest works wonders :-)

Tec should be half way to Shrewsbury by now - we hope :-)

Well, no Tec spitting tacks, so hopefully the ambulance arrived to collect him

It is nice to see you Diane, i had forgotten that you came from LLangollen, we had a lovely day there.

I can imagine just what you said, or at least thought when the garage told you what they had done Sylvia :-D

I hope you sat with your feet up all day Sue and are feeling a bit better <3

Hi Sue, and everyone

Sue ................. I hope you feel better soon xxxx

another wet day here :-(

................ and of course, that also means wet at the site of the mudslide in Washington State. They're really having major problems working there .................. it's like being in quicksand

Tec ................... I hope all goes well tomorrow (Friday) xxxx

Sue ............. I can't remember if you have said ........ what has your OH done to his knee?

I'm looking forward to going to my physio on Tuesday ............ he rarely hurts me now, and I usually feel much better after he's worked on my back. I'm hoping he'll work the same magic on my knee .............. which is slowly getting better :-)

We had a recall on our car the other week ....................... the dealer fixed that, but said they had spotted a leak in the oil system and the gasket needed replacing ................. a 4 day job, so they said.

OH took the car to our own mechanic on Tuesday for them to do the work ........... they said 2 days, possibly even by lunchtime on Wednesday.

They still have it! They hope it will be ready by lunchtime tomorrow (Friday)

...................... it seems one of the mechanics was carrying the gasket over to the car to put it in when he dropped it, then proceeded to step on it :-S

so they had to order in another one :-(

take care everyone

You need to get better quickly then as you will have to fetch and carry for him. Best to get it sorted out though

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 27 Mar 2014 22:41

He did yesterday - I can drag this on for awhile :-D

OH saw the specialist on Wednesday and the doctor has decided to do surgery on his knee. He seems to be improving at times but it is very sore for several days after physiotherapy and it shouldn't be. So he goes in a week Friday hopefully just for the day and the it should take two to three weeks to heal.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 27 Mar 2014 22:33
