Hello all. Got you before you went off to bed!
Tec - I think the idea of putting a note in a local shop would be good. I know the chairs are available on Ebay, but somebody wants paying - you could be lucky and get one for nothing if you do the advertising.
My daughter was working with a lass whose dad died and when she was clearing out his property, found the walker in the garage. Her mother had died years before and she had no memory of the walker being used by either of them. As I said before, I wonder if it has ever been used. Anyway, this lass offered it to my daughter for me and wouldn't take any money for it - she was just so glad to get rid of it so that she could clear the property to sell it. You might pick up one like I did!

Hello everyone,

Sue I hope you are better for eating Linda's grapes :-D

I have a bit to do to get ready for Shrewsbury tomorrow. An ambulance is supposed to be picking me up at 7am - we'll see.

It's supposed to be an overnight stay, but I'm not confident that they will bring me back on Saturday, and have a feeling I may not be brought back until Monday.

I'm off for my bath now, and pack my bag ready for an early start.
If I don't come back tonight I'll be here when I get back.

Be nice to each other :-)
Tec.

I could phone the auction house to enquire, then leave a bid.

No news on the license you, but when I renewed three years ago it took ages for a reply. Trouble is now that my license has now expired, so I can't drive the car even if I was able too.

I hope very much to get my license back for obvious reasons, but it won't be the end of the world if I don't.
I am not strong enough yet to heave the wheelchair in or out of the car anyway.

Can't you get the auction house to bid on your behalf? Someone would pick it up for you

Any news on your licence yet

That's an idea - maybe people have them stored in the garage not knowing what to do with them

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Mar 2014 22:10

Maybe you could put a card in the village shop window

Apologies Linda :-(

Re baby clothes, just noticed I called you Sue - I have had a busy day, and it is getting late :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Mar 2014 22:07

Yes it would have to local as very difficult to ship I should think

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Mar 2014 22:05

You can sometimes pick them up cheaply on Ebay, especially the ones which are to collect

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Mar 2014 22:05

When I used to attend the auctions in Dolthingy, there were frequently wheelchairs that went for next to nothing - just a few pounds. Now of course I can't get there :-(

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Mar 2014 22:01

Strange that you should say that, because yesterday I was looking on the net to see much the cheapest wheelchairs are, just for that purpose. :-)

It sounds like you need an old wheel chair which you can keep out in the garden

I'm sure that your niece will be delighted Sue, especially if she is on a tight budget. I have no idea about baby clothes, but imagine they are very expensive.
It seems that young mothers are fashion conscious about their babies clothes now.

You have been busy Tec, it is amazing how the days pass when you have things to do.

I went for a haircut this afternoon and visited a hospice charity shop which is only for children's things. I bought lots of baby clothes to send to my niece. Her baby is only four months old, but has now overtaken Esme. The original idea was that Esme's clothes would be passed on to her once Esme outgrew them. that only worked for the first size.
My niece doesn't have much money,so I found lots of really nice clothes of the size she needs next. I have washed then tonight and will send them off tomorrow. You can pick up lots of lovely baby clothes in the charity shops, especially the smaller sizes as babies grow so quickly
