Oh dear Sue, I expect that you are gone now, but I hope you will feel better soon. Have a good rest <3

Hello everyone, :-),

Today was quite hectic here. First the care lady turned up earlier than I expected her, I was still having breakfast. Anyway she made my bed, and washed up for, and went into the garden to feed the birds for me.
Then a man turned up to take the front door off its hinges. It sticks when it gets wet, and is very difficult to open or shut. He has done a good job as it now operates better than it has ever done. It is the original door, over 100 years old, bigger than modern doors, and incredibly heavy.
Then the nurse arrived to stick needles in me.
Then my brother and his wife arrived which was nice. I got him to do a few odd jobs for me, like taking things out to the wheelie bins etc.
Then the care lady turned up at 5 o'clock, but as I had cooked dinner there was only a bit of washing up to do.
My new cordless phones are up and running, so now I have phones everywhere.
So a busy day.

Berona, The walker I spoke of sounds very like the one you have. Mine does have brakes that you can lock on if sitting in one place.
In order to move it I have to scoot it along using my leg, not ideal of course, but it does mean I can negotiate one or two steps. Transferring from the wheelchair onto the walker.
You should use yours if it makes life easier, and I shouldn't think you would become dependant on it. Though your method of stopping sounds a little precarious :-D without brakes.

Sylvia - Pleased that the sale of the cabin is going through, and I expect that you both are too.
Sorry that you are having problems with that knee. Linda is right, more visits to the physio are needed, says I who cringes when they are mentioned. The last one I saw was merciless :-D.
Although I did devise a method of getting into the front garden, I still can't get into the back, which is annoying because there is so much I could manage to do out there.
The problem is that while I can get the walker over the steps, the wheelchair is much too big and heavy to do that, especially perched on one leg
:-D

Linda - You must have needed the sleep to have slept that long, and I'm not surprised after the hectic lifestyle you have :-D.
Sorry to see that there is more damage to the greenhouse than originally thought. Makes you wonder what kind of monsters the nine and ten year olds are going to grow into. :-)

Oh dear Sue, I hope you feel better soon

I'm poorly this morning so going back to bed :-(

I hope the little rascals leave the greenhouses alone. What were they doing roaming through the allotments? :-0

See you later <3

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Mar 2014 21:06

Grr, did a long post but it didn't arrive

We had coffee this morning with some newish neighbours, who seem nice.

Then OH went to the allotment, only to find that the damage was much worse than he thought. As well as the large window, one pane in the door was broken, plus another large pane around the back. It is odd because last night he only saw the one pane damaged

The other greenhouse on the plot only had one pane in the door broken. People have been very good and rallied round with spare bits of glass. OH bought some this morning, but will still need to buy some more

It was three boys age nine to ten who were seen leaving just after the damage was done, I hope the little blighter's don't come back

That is good news Sylvia - as long as the cheques are honoured of course

Your knee sounds very painful, more physio needed to strengthen it. I know you love physio :-D

I slept in :-(

I looked at the clock and it was 8am, next thing I knew OH was saying "Are you waking up yet"? It was 9.50am and he had been out to buy glass. We are going for coffee in ten minutes with some new neighbours,so I am burning my mouth eating porridge as I type. I was going to wash my hair, but no time for that,so they will have to have the scruffy look

Tec .........

so glad that you have worked out a way to get into the garden :-)

Be careful though ............... the powers-that-be may decide you don't need a ramp :-)

Linda ............. that's really annoying!

My knee is acting up again, the head of the fibula (the thinner bone down the outside of your lower leg) has decided to dislocate itself, AGAIN! This has been ongoing for several weeks ..................... I have to keep pushing it back in place.

Of course, it was someone's Law that the Notary should phone today after OH had taken the car in to say there were some last documents for the sale that HAD to be signed today

The transit system was at its worst!

A 15-20 minute walk took 45 minutes, including a 25 minute wait for the bus!

Anyway, the down payment, minus the realtor's commission, should be in our bank account by Friday :-D

............ and 12 post-dated cheques should be in our hot little hands no later than Tuesday next week. We then deposit the applicable cheque each month.

So, the cabin and land is sold, and all is over and done with :-)

Hello to all when you come back here. Another nice day. Cloudy with 'possible thunderstorms' forecast - again. We sometimes get the thunrder but nothing else. Sue has been getting rain and only a couple of hours' drive from me. However, we don't always get the same weather.

Tec - is your 'walker' one of those with brakes on two handles and a seat? I had one of those given to me. Very excellent condition - I wonder if it was ever used. However, the seat seems a little low and is hard to get out of and I find it hard to hold the brakes on and get up from it at the same time. I back it against a wall and put my foot in front of one of the wheels, to get out of it. Haven't tried it much as I'm putting off using it - afraid that I will become too used to it and want to use it all the time.

Good luck to OHs knee Sue :-)

Yes Linda - never thought of that, but I think the old chap would object :-D

Goodnight

SueMaid Report 25 Mar 2014 22:24

Perhaps the dog in the park was your guardian angel, Tec :-)

I must get on with my day as we are off to see the knee specialist this morning. I think he will be pleased with the improvement.

Sleep well <3 <3

Tecwyn Report 25 Mar 2014 22:18

That's the thing with dogs, they don't argue back, but anyone who ever kept a dog will know when they disapprove :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 25 Mar 2014 22:15

It will be nice if Milo comes to see you, you can talk to him, but you don't have to listen to his answers :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 25 Mar 2014 22:07

The collies name is Milo Sue,

He is big for a collie, and I suspect he is crossed with a bernese.

He took to me straight away :-) the way to a dogs heart is with a rich tea biscuit :-D

Dogs have always taken to me. I remember when I was a boy, a dog used to follow me to the park regularly, and I never knew where he lived, but he would stay with me for hours, and then disappear somewhere on the way home :-)

SueMaid Report 25 Mar 2014 22:07

Hello Tec - sounds like a nice day except for the injection. It will be good to get that sorted and out of the way. What is the name of the collie?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 25 Mar 2014 21:54

I have never seen a human bean either :-D

What is the old dog called? It will be nice if he takes to you
