Linda, Am I being thicker than usual, I didn't get your last post :-)

What competition? :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Mar 2014 20:25

Well, you can select a few at random every day and we can have a competition to see who can come up wit :-D

I was thinking, obviously I want to get delivery as cheap as possible, but with me it's the convenience that's more important than the cost, given that I can't go shopping.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 14 Mar 2014 20:17

I'll have to see what's the cheapest way to do it. Being on my own I won't want that much, but I'll have to see.
I know I've already got a pantry full of packets, tins, jars etc.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Mar 2014 20:12

They do an £8 pass so you can have as many deliveries as you want in a month. The only problem is that the minimum spend is £40. The ordinary delivery charge varies according to the time slot you choose, you will have to see which is cheaper. You might not be able to get it up to £40

Yes that's a good idea.

I've had a small cabinet freezer put in the kitchen, because I can't get outside to the chest freezer. Things can be brought in from that on a weekly basis.
If I find I can manage with the smaller freezer, then the chest can go.

I want to get going with the Asda delivery service as soon as I can. They deliver to several houses around me now.

soups and casseroles etc, so you can make them all in one pan

Tecwyn Report 14 Mar 2014 19:51

I quite like cooking, so intend getting into it again. I got quite a few of those ready made frozen dinners in the freezer, and while they're useful, I don't want to live on them, it's all a bit artificial somehow.
So having got my appetite back I shall keep it going.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Mar 2014 19:47

Well just make sure you continue to eat well once you get home. I expect you to take up cooking from scratch again

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 14 Mar 2014 19:43

Yes that's what I'll do, it's all clean and unused, except for this weeks washing of course.

The nurses here are apparently sorry to see me go, because I haven't been any work to them, as I see to myself. All they've had to do is to bring me my food.

I am in much better shape going from here than when I came in. The food is very good, and I've had a good appetite, and put on a lot of weight that, I needed to do.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Mar 2014 19:35

You can sort it out when you get home, just bung it in a bag for now

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 14 Mar 2014 19:32

Good innit :-D

I seem to have so many clothes here that my daughter kept fetching in - tee shirts, pants, pyjamas, socks (for one foot) :-D shirts, trousers,

and I've got masses of paperwork that I've created. :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Mar 2014 19:24

I've packed up lots of small bits and pieces I seem to have collected, and things I wanted brought from home.
I have my clothes to pack up, mostly stuff that can be squashed into a bag. My new tablet is here, and I've hardly looked at it. I will get going with that when I get home.

The nurses have been laughing at me because they say I've created my own little office in the corner of the ward.

It is only a small two bedded room that I share with an elderly gentleman with dementia - he hardly ever speaks, and sleeps mostly.
