Yes, don't drop your mantle, we would all be shocked :-D

Where is Sue today, i hope she has not run off with Mersey

Allan

Allan Report 21 Jan 2014 23:19

I'll do my best to keep up the male mantle on this thread until Tec is well enough to re-join :-)

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 21 Jan 2014 23:14

That made me groan Allan, Tec would be proud of you for taking up his mantle

Hello all

Thanks for the update Linda. I did wonder when I read that the Duchess is now in a Nursing Home how Tec would cope if they were together again. Very sad

I read Tolkien years ago, I found his books very hobbit forming :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 21 Jan 2014 22:48

The Hobbit did drag on and it was tanking down when we walked home,so my trousers are all wet :-(

Hello people .
It really is touching to see so many folk sending tender messages for Tec and his duchess / family <3
Linda , thank you ( as always ) for passing on the news to us all . It is strange and indeed heartwarming to know that this GR community ( all over the world ) are thinking of Tec and sending their positive , healing , thoughts in his direction .
It is good to know that he is thinking of the future , very positive but also tinged with sadness regarding the Duchess , I hope she has settled a little in the nurseing home <3

I hope the " Hobbit " doesn't drag on for to long , I went to see the first film last year but haven't bothered with this second "episode".

~~~~~ to everyone x
It is very sad that the Duchess won't be able to come home, but Tec would have had to face this very soon even if he hadn't become ill. The Duchess needs so much care now because of her own health problems, too much for one person to cope with.
I have cinema duty tonight and it is the Hobbit which is a very long film :-(
Just popping in to say hello, and to say that I'm thinking of Tec and the Duchess, as we all have been for the last few months, but especially this week.
I've just read how it will be impossible now for the Duchess to come home. How sad it is for them both. I think the thought of them being parted is what upsets me most, but of course, there is nothing else that can be done now.
What a remarkable person Tec is! He has been having to cope with so much pain and worry for so long now. He is facing this life changing operation with such acceptance and dignity. My heart goes out to them both.
Praying that the operation goes well, and that he has a good recovery- Love Jem <3
LindainHerriotCountry Report 21 Jan 2014 12:06
I managed to speak to Tec today. He is in quite a lot of pain, but remarkably upbeat about things. As he says, he doesn't do depression. he is in a room with a nice view of Shropshire and the car park. We didn't talk for long because he sounded tired.
The procedure to put filters in his groin to stop blood clots going to his lungs after the amputation was cancelled yesterday because the theatre was too busy. He said they may do it today. The main operation is scheduled for either Thursday of Friday because the surgeon is away until then.
I passed on lots of your wishes again and he really is amazed at how many people care about him.He told me to say a special hello to Sue and Berona.
He is plotting how he is going to cope after he gets home, but he said that he has accepted that the Duchess will not come out of the nursing home because he could not take care of her. Anyway that is for the future.
his daughter is coming to see him later as is his sister from up north. His brother has already been. He laughed and said that he must be bad if everyone is coming.
He said how much he is missing chatting to everyone on the thread and that he can't wait to get home so he can use his laptop again.
I don't think any of us were surprised Rose but we were hoping it wouldn't come to that.
I know Linda will pass on your good wishes :-)
Just looked in and seen the news about Tec , I'm so sorry to read this ( though sadly not surprised given what I know of the local doctors) , I would be very grateful Linda if you would pass on my very best wishes to Tec for a good recovery, and of course best wishes to his wife and family also.
Goodnight Diane, I am off as well
Diane
Diane Report 20 Jan 2014 23:04
I know Linda but she would find it difficult even if she lived nearer as she works, I hope they do manage to both return home, the biggest problem will be the worry of the Duchess having a hypo through the night :-(
I'm off for an early night, good night sleep well <3
LindainHerriotCountry Report 20 Jan 2014 22:58
Diane
Diane Report 20 Jan 2014 22:48
Hello all :-)
Linda you are a star keeping us all up to date with things concerning Tec <3
I lay awake for quite a while last night thinking how I wish I lived nearer to Tec and the Duchess as I would love to be able to offer to help, having so much experience as a Carer I would be only to happy to have stepped in to have looked after the Duchess so she wouldn't have had to go into a care home, and then with a possibility of helping them once Tec was able to return home.
Hope all goes well with his first op and I'm glad to hear they are managing his pain a lot better <3 <3
Linda I bet your daughter can't wait for Esme to have her op as things will be a lot easier for her once it has been done, six months have flown over.
~~~~~ to Sue, love the picture's of the Bergonia's you put on FB :-)

Mersey did you hear the sad news about the 19yrs old who died near Prescot, either falling from or jumping off the bridge over the M57 :-(

~~~~ to Jem, hope all's well with you :-)
Hi to Carole, Huia, Berona, and all those who have posted on here with your kind wishes for Tec, Duchess and family :-) <3
