I guess it's a lot different training staff to feed a child through a tube than it is sending someone to learn how to deal with physical but not medical issues.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 20 Jan 2014 22:36

The health workers have said that they will not train the nursery staff to do the tube feeding. I think that is because it is common here for nursery workers to be very young girls who I certainly wouldn't trust. That is not the case at Eve's nursery though, they are all mature women,so maybe they will train them. I suppose it depends how Esme is in April when her mum goes back to work

Hello Mersey :-D. Hope you are well.

I suppose they would need to have a trained staff member. When Aimee started nursery the centre sent two staff members to do a course. They were marvellous and I'm sure it was down to them that Aimee was able to fit in so well at school - and her mum of course.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 20 Jan 2014 22:19

Hello Mersey,

I don't think the nursery will take her, they may need to find a specialist child minder for her, we shall have to see

Hi Linda & Sue

As always :-) <3 :-)

SueMaid Report 20 Jan 2014 22:14

I can't believe Esme is six months old already. It will be so much better with the stomach tube. It will also be easier for preschool staff when your daughter goes back to work.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 20 Jan 2014 22:11

I don't know Sue, I will try and talk to him before the op, but I don't know if they are supposed to use mobiles on the ward, he is managing to text though,so I can try

LindainHerriotCountry Report 20 Jan 2014 22:09

I have been washing piles of baby clothes today so I can take the next size down for Esme. She was six months old a couple of days ago and needs the 6-9 month clothes now.
I rang my daughter earlier but she couldn't talk because Esme had just pulled her nasal tube out again,so she was just leaving for the hospital to have it put back in again. It will be much better when she has her operation at the end of the month

Hello Linda :-D

I wonder if Tec is feeling much better now a decision has been made and treatment has been decided on.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 20 Jan 2014 22:04

Ooh Sue, I am blushing

Sue isn't bad either <3 <3

I haven't heard any more from Tec today. I will text him tomorrow to check how things went today. He has sounded much more like his normal self over the past few days, so they must have his pain relief at the correct level, he was rather spaced out on morphine before that.

Hello everyone :-D

Tec would be amazed at how so many people care for him and his Duchess. I'm sure the love and support shown will help in his recovery.

For those who don't know - Linda and I with our OH's met Tec while me and my OH were visiting the UK. He is every bit as nice, gentlemanly and humorous as he is on here.....and Linda is lovely too <3

Thankyou Linda for updating us all on Tec's condition.
It must be so hard for you and Sue in particular, as I know how close the three of you are.

Also for all his other GR friends, particularly on the Aussie and Welsh threads, as he is held in so much high regard and love by everyone.

My thoughts are with Tec and the Duchess during this very difficult time. Also with his daughter and her family. Love Jem <3

I have passed on all of your greetings to TEC. He texted back and asked me to pass on his love to everyone. He said that he was going to theatre later to have filters fitted to each groin to prevent clots.

Good morning.

I am tired, I couldn't sleep last night until about 3am.

I think we have all suspected for a while the likely outcome for Tec, but as everyone has said, you keep hoping that you are wrong and they will be able to sort things out.

The garden is covered in white frost, crackers as it was much warmer in Poland where I had expected it to be colder

Good morning Mersey <3

Hello SusanWA - thank you for your thoughts. Linda will pass your message on.

Tec and the Duchess have been in my thoughts all day and I admit I have shed some tears. Totally life changing but I hope very much that Tec will come through this with his dignity and humour intact.

Carole - gutted is certainly how we all feel. A hug for you and everyone <3
