we've just heard that my sis-in-law's cancer has been found to have metastasized into her brain.

She has been given 3 months.

They are going to give her 5 days of radiation in an attempt to reduce the size of the brain tumour. Then she will go home and will start a course of chemo. There will be another scan after that to see if there has been any effect.

Hi Sue, and everyone

Tec ............... in yer dreams. At the moment, anyway!! :-D

Pam ................ lovely to see you posting again.

I hope that you will soon be fully mobile, and without pain xxx

Diane ............... hope all goes well with your application

Amanda ........... sorry to hear about the "poxy" granders. Take care.

I had my annual eye check-up this afternoon (Tuesday). I'd forgotten that it can take ages so arranged for OH to come about half-an-hour later to pick me up.

It was another hour after that before I was ready to leave :-(

There has been a little change in my near vision (new glasses!!), but I am beginning to lose long distance vision in my left eye. It doesn't really matter because I don't drive .................. and I mainly use my right eye for long distance anyway. That's a habit from many years of poor vision, and being an alternator!

I was told though that the specialist I saw earlier in the year had diagnosed me as having myopic macular degeneration.

That's a third form of macular degeneration that has recently been separated from wet or dry macular degenerations.

Very short-sighted people are subject to it, and, like the other forms of macular degeneration, there isn't much to be done except take more of certain vitamins and supplements.

I'm going to be referred back to the specialist for him to use specialised imaging machines that can see below the retina and make sure there is nothing going on there.

I go for my 6 monthly check-up of my chest and lymph nodes on Thursday!

It's all go!!!!

take care everyone

xx

Hello Everyone,

Just popped in quick to say that I'm still alive, but not coming out to play. It has not been a good day. I am very tired and in quite a bit of pain, despite the morphine. Maybe I've become accustomed to the present dose which may need to be increased.
Hopefully I will be back tomorrow, after I've dug the garden, decorated the wall that was never finished, and been out on a three mile hike.
Take care, and play nicely.

Tec
:-)

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Nov 2013 22:52

Yes it is based on a true story Diane

Diane Report 26 Nov 2013 22:45

Good morning Berona,

I often turn over when my alarm goes off and I hit the snooze button but this morning I was up bright and early at 7-20am because I had an appointment at the CAB.

Linda I was mainly wondering if the film was based on true situation's that have happened concerning piracy in Somalia ?

I know I'm late to-day. Went back to sleep again after listening to the morning news broadcast. I'm getting good at doing that!
Nice to hear from you again, Pam. Hope you continue to improve and are back on your feet properly, very soon.
Yet another nice day coming up here. The forecast was for showers all week, but so far, only nice days. To-day is expected to reach 29, but that remains to be seen.

The film was OK Diane if you like that sort of thing. |I wouldn't normally watch anything like that, but one of us needed to sit in

Diane

Hello Linda :-)

I have seen that film advertised on the TV and thought it looked good " was it "

Hello Pam nice to see you posting and I hope you are soon mobile again :-)

Huia I think it would be a shock for the other shopper's seeing you in your birthday suit :-D

Hi Mersey I was thinking of texting you today for a meet in Huyton but as I had an appointment at the CAB I wasn't sure how long I would be so decided it was best to leave it till another time, would be nice to meet up before Chrimbo if you could make it, let me know :-)

Tec if you are looking in I hope you had a good night's rest :-)

Hello Pam, I am glad that you are on the mend

I am just back from cinema duty. The film was called Captain Phillips, all about Somali pirates. I had to sit in and watch it because we had a load of young lads in. They actually were good as gold once it started

Hello all. Yes, I'm still in the land of the living. Am hoping to have the stamina to get some of my past few months history here for you so you'll know where I've been and what I've been doing.

Currently I'm recovering from a total hip replacement. 2 weeks today since the surgery and am up and about on a walking frame. Most of my day is spent taking my meds and doing physio exercises. I will be so glad when the next few weeks are done and I can start looking to get back to normal again. There is still pain, esp. after physio, but at least I know this will go away. The pain before the surgery was excruciating. This is more of a dull ache.

Of course I haven't been able to read back on all the past posts and I'm not allowed to sit upright for long periods of time yet. Have to sit leaned back in the chair with my affected leg up on a couple of cushions.

Hope everyone is doing OK. Tec, sorry to hear you've had your issues but sounds like you're getting better now.

Will try to get back in here again later. Getting sore.

```````````````to all.
